Tune Tuesday: United Kingdom Week 1

tunetuesday

I’m sad to say but this is the second to last week of the music travels of Tune Tuesday! It’s been a very fun and interesting adventure. I hope you’ve had fun and discovered some fantastic music along the way. Next week I’ll be releasing a snippet of what the next theme will be. So since this week will be a two-week thing, I thought I’d just do it up with adding more than I probably should! Hopefully not as long as Poland’s but who knows. I wanted to let everybody know that for these two weeks, I wanted to stay true to the reason why I made up this theme. I wanted it for the newly and older stuff that everyone knows and loves. I hope you all enjoy!

Leap Of Faith

This weekend has been a calming, dull, and boring all piled up into two days. Honestly, Saturday wasn’t so bad but Sunday was so boring that I could have just skipped the entire day. This weekend was supposed to be nice and interesting a few weeks ago. I was supposed to go to a wedding on Saturday with my mom for my work friend. I had this planned out for almost a year. I knew I was going to be invited and I was even invited to her bachelorette party back in June, but I couldn’t do anything about that because of the weather. Because of past experience, I don’t like doing things at last minute and rushing to get everything done. Somebody’s usually in a bad mood and it’s usually me. So in the beginning of the week, I asked God to help guide me in the right direction and help me be positive in looking at things in a brighter way. This worked on the weekend of the party too. Thankfully, since Blondie was already going to come down for the weekend, it wasn’t too bad. Sunday was a totally different story. You can tell I was only praying for Saturday and not both days because I felt like I was a diva the WHOLE day and I hate feeling like that. It all started when my sister said that night before that we’d go on a walk. I had mom charge up my wheelchair and I was all excited that morning and even thought Blondie got probably nine hours of sleep, she didn’t want to go on the walk anymore. It wasn’t a total blow out though because I did go outside and spent my day with the cats, but I was really looking forward to that walk and all the pictures I could have taken too. Today starts a new week though and I honestly don’t know how it will go, but I’ll be praying my way through it. I’ll leave you with some pictures I did get this past weekend! I hope you’ve been enjoying your day/night/morning.

Top 5 Best Movie Franchises

I’m a movie freak! I like so many different types of films, from some black and white classics to the modern movies of today. I’m a bit weird too though, because I am a lover of sequels too. Sometimes I have even loved the second movie of the franchise a little more than the first. There even a lot of Disney movies like that, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp, and Pocahontas sequels are awesome no matter what anybody says! Two of my favorite Disney original movies should be included in this post, but I decided against it. Both the The Cheetah Girls and Halloweentown films are a GREAT group of movies, even if one of the main actresses out of the loop. I thought it would be awesome if I made out a small list of my favorite film franchises. What movies do you think deserve to be on your list? I’d like to hear them!

1.) Back To The Future

Yeah, I’m a BTTF baby! My mom got me started on these movies early on! When I was a kid I remember asking my mom for both purple underwear, because I love the color purple! And where were the damn hoverboards? Now that it’s almost 2015, everybody is taking bets on the Cubbies! You definitely don’t see any hoverboards or flying cars out and about, but Nike did announce recently that they were working on powered laces! HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT?! My mom and I love the first two movies, but she won’t watch or tape the third movie. I can tolerate it. I definitely haven’t seen it as many times as the first two, that’s for sure!

2.) Step Up

I love my dance movies to the core! The fact that if this movie wouldn’t take off we’d never be so in love with both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, and then they wouldn’t get married and have Everly?! Oh My Gosh, I don’t want to think about it! The first movie was delicious! I loved the chemistry between Nora and Tyler. The dancing was amazing, the scenes that would repeat in the future installments, the party scenes and big dance finish at the end. I’m sad that I didn’t get to see the newest in theaters, but it’s okay because it’ll be out on DVD soon. I think the best couple that came out of the series was Camille from the first movie, who is played by Alyson Stoner, she played Tyler’s foster-sister. Moose was on the second film, he’s played by Adam Sevani, they somehow meet in the year or two leading up to the third movie. They’re were adorable and had a beautiful relationship between them. The hottest male of the series and this might freak out a few people, including my mother, isn’t Channing. Even though my girl crush of the series is still Jenna! Anyways, the hottest male is Ryan Guzman from Step Up: Revolution! *swoons*

3.) Fast And Furious

This serious has got to be one of the best! Every racing type of movie wants to be like it, plus have the fans like it too. The cast, crew, and fandom had a total shock when the death of Paul Walker was announced. The production of the seventh movie was put on hold for a bit and the new movie technology had its good advantage to it when the news was made that instead of just cropping Paul’s scenes out for good, that the team was going to use Paul’s brothers as his body stunts to continue on his legacy of the films. Despite all of this, the movies are the best! My sister and I loved the current release. We didn’t start bawling our eyes out until the very end of the movie during the prayer. I was sad all over again about the death of Han, played by Sung Kang, but we had to add on Gisele, played by Gal Gadot, who dies in the sixth movie. I can’t wait to see what the newest movie will have in store, as it will about revenge of both Han’s death and Own Shaw’s death too. I’m ready for it!

4.) Transformers

I don’t care what anybody says, but Michael Bay did an amazing job making these movies and characters come to life. I sadly haven’t been able to see the new one yet, but it is on my agenda before the year is over so don’t worry! Yes, I was upset about the new recasting for the new movie, but considering majority of the movies that recast in a franchise will just continue to do it, I may as well get used to it and shut up. I wasn’t feeling the change of Megan Fox in the third movie either but that sure as hell didn’t take me long to stop denying. Rosie was a nice change but looked like Megan’s character Mikaela was a trashy character so I kind of got defensive over that thought. I really loved Shia in the first three movies, he brought those Transformers come to life just as much as the voice actors did. They brought the humor and seriousness of the scenes. My favorite film is the second one and I can literally quote the whole damn movie too. We saw that one in theaters and my mom bawled her eyes out when the Megatron killed Optimus. My favorite car is of course Bee, the yellow Camero, but I really love Sideswipe 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and since I’m more into trucks, you gotta love Ironhide who had a 2006 GMC Topkick C4500.

5.) Bring It On

The first film of the series came out in 2000. That was 14 years ago! I’m pretty sure I didn’t exactly watch it when it first came out but it’s somewhere close to it. I think my sister became a cheerleader after watching these movies, luckily when she was a senior in high school she shared the role of cheer captain before having to quit because she wasn’t enjoying it anymore. She has talked about going and doing it again for college, but doubt she’ll ever do it again. Too many hospital visits! Majority of the sequels of the series was mostly played on ABC Family so all of the cuss words and not family friendly scenes are cut out. My favorite cheer captains are Hayden Paniettere from the All or Nothing and Christina Milian, from the Fight To The Finish. My favorite enemy is Winnie from All Or Nothing. She was a real bitch. The only movie I haven’t seen all the way through is Bring It On Again, because the girls just got on my nerves, but I still love the series and plot of the story. The big finishes of the films are the best. They always make me miss Blondie cheering in school.

My Childhood Oddity

What were you obsessed with as a kid? I mean, serious? Do you remember anything from your childhood that was big with you at such a small age? I have always been in love with caves, dirt, and rocks ever since I can remember. I remember making mud pies with my sister and cousins. Whenever we were at my nana’s, she’d have bubbles, chalk, and spoons. I was into the bubbles and spoons. We only used the spoons to dig up the dirt around the edges of the sidewalks. Every weekend we would do this and I’m starting to wonder how majority of the spoons she still uses are slightly bent. We were a bit rough when it came to certain ones. I had my own spoon that had a gripper so it wouldn’t be such a pain to really down deep into the ground. I loved seeing as you dug your spoon into the ground that there was a narrow line of tan dirt. Sometimes we’d pull up worms and then stab them a hundred times to see it squirm. I‘m going to hell, ain’t I? I remember once that we had share spoons because we kept dirtying nana’s spoons in one or two days that she didn’t want to run out of them before they ate supper. That ended up causing a bitter fight between my sister and I, because one of us didn’t want to share. I’m not throwing the blame on her though, it was probably me not wanting to share with her in the first place. We also had fun with chalk and bubbles too. At the time, I had very good flexibility in my lower half. So I could do the bubbles myself without anybody else holding it for me. Chalk wasn’t my forte. They were either too thin or too thick for me to use. so I only played with the bubbles and dirt.

As a kid though, it wasn’t just those things that kept me entertained. The start of my love with rocks had to start around I was six years old. I can’t think of myself older and be collecting them. I remember as the years continued on, my little tin can stayed in a corner of my nana’s house collecting dust, just waiting for me to cone back. Almost like that scene in Toy Story 2 where Jessie and her original owner Emily loves her and plays with her but once as she grows up and discovers makeup, her love of her childhood things fades. She ends up saling Jessie along with the rest of her childhood things. Instead of me throwing it away in the trash, I grabbed it and when I got home, dad unhinged the lid and opened it up. My nana said it hasn’t been opened for 15 or 16 years. Which mom told me I would have been 7 or 8 years old at the time. These rocks are old. When I took them out of the box or can, I had ten pieces of little rocks. I actually 11 of the bigger ones with the lone little sea shell. I’m still confused about the shell and how it ended up in there. There were so many differences in the rocks, I do think I snatch one from my grandparents driveway, but I have no idea where I must’ve gotten the rest. The textures from the bigger ones are kind of interesting. Two are incredibly smooth and there’s a big one gray rock that has circle edge at the top of it that’s white. If you hold it up to good light, it kind of sparkles like it has diamonds in it. That’s why as kids, we used to think we were pirates and that nana’s dirt had gold in it because of the tan line in the dirt. We were a little nutty! I must’ve been able to grab a hold of the smaller ones easily when I was younger as to why I have so many. I was trying to pull them off my floor and I couldn’t get my toes around them to get a good grip. Now it’s actually difficult to grab them with my toes, they didn’t want to go back in the can.

I was thinking about something. Our neighbors have a little girl named Chevy and she’s fairly smaller in age than I was when I became so interested in rocks, but she loves them! However, she loves throwing them at people more than anything, but I thought it would nice to get her to collect them instead of throwing them. Inside the barn are rocks everywhere, there are fairly large rocks inside and I thought it would neat to get her to collect maybe these bigger ones. I might be getting ahead of myself as she is only two years old, but my mom and I just don’t understand how much she runs around in the barn without shoes or socks on, because to us, even I was thinking it, that would hurt the bottoms of our feet being stick with those rough and sharp edges and all the running she does! No wonder she’s been wanting rides on my wheelchair! Now that the temperature’s dropping in the evenings, I’ve actually seen her with tennis shoes on and it’s so different because I’m normally seeing her barefoot or in somebody else’s flip-flops. My mom had to go to the house one day while she was over at the barn, Chevy just went with her and came back with my mom’s flip-flops on. Tiny feet in big shoes, you would assume she’d fall on herself but she never did. That takes some talent, at least it’s got to, because I’d think it would hurt to have bigger shoes on. I’m just glad I don’t have to wear any kind of shoes. Socks drive me insane whenever I do have to wear them. Anyways, back to the rocks thing. I might talk to her momma and see what she thinks if it would produce good results or not. If not, it’s cool!

Tune Tuesday: Sweden

tunetuesday

This week we’re in a country that has a BIG music scene! We are in Sweden! I bet one of the first acts you think of that comes from this beautiful country is the pop group, ABBA. I am sadden to say that we hear or think of Sweden, that’s not the first thing that pops into my head. I like of bands from Sweden! It’s crazy on how much music I’ve found in the last couple of years that I’ve been turned on from Sweden! Let’s be honest here for a second, when I got into the metal band Nightwish, I didn’t know that there was a singer before Anette Olzon. I also didn’t care either, from the first time I listened to them I fell in love with Anette’s voice and I still am! Now that she’s left NW and gone solo, I’ve still been hooked to her music. I’ve listened to her debut album, Shine probably five times and from that first listen I immediately put the album on my favorites list of albums! I’ll just say it is very difficult to get on that list. That means I felt something while I listened to it and heard everything. A lot of the times I listen to albums I get so lost inside the album and I lose out the whole thing. For me, going into this trance isn’t neccessarily a good thing. Anyways, two others that I’ve decided to include are Avatar and Hysterica. I was introduced to Avatar, when their first album dropped and their first single played on Sirius XM Octane channel. Hysterica is an all female heavy metal band. So if you thought my female fronted side was fierce, this is just worse. I found them to be freaking awesome! All of the members play the insturments and sing + growl are female. How about that for the ones who say metal music is a man’s world?! Since Avatar is the only all-male band here I think I should let them start out the listening portion. So enjoy and rock on!
