What My Zodiac Sign Says About Me

loveof

Howdy 🙂

I would like to say this post was inspired by Safe Haven: Anonymous Letters 30 Day Challenge they did in August! I decided to do it about my zodiac sign: SCORPIO! They’ve actually inspired me to do the summer playlist and four others I might do sometime in the future! So you’ll have to venture on the site and guess which ones I might use.

I am a lover of horoscopes! I really am, I don’t look up mine as much anymore but I do love reading it every once in a while. It’s become a bit of a tradition to look at mine on my birthday, because if anything does happen on that day, you basically live by your horoscope and trust me, it has happened before and I will admit to it!

I really love my sign. I think it goes well with me really well. Everything honestly makes sense when you look up some of the characteristics that comes with it. Of course, a normal person will think it could all be part of your DNA and I can believe that too, but there are too many things, like strengths and dislikes that feel too much of a coincidence when you put it together with your sign than your heritage.

One thing that I’ve learned about my sign is that it’s normal to for me show my emotions. I am a strong person. I can hold it in for as long as I can, before I turn into a sobbing mess. This is because my element is Water, we waver back and forth of our decisions. Since we’re passionate people, we also have anger tendencies as well. This is the reason why I’ve seen “most serial killers are born in November” pop up on Facebook. Now I’m not saying I’m one of those people, I mean I can get angry, I’m just not the type of person to yell and fight someone. I like to think I’m classier than that. Scorpios don’t like dishonesty and secrets although the fact as I get older, I don’t want to know certain things, but keeping secrets from me isn’t necessarily so easy either. I’ll find out about it anyways, and apparently that’s also part of this sign too.

I’ve found that we’re brave, resourceful, and stubborn. As a disabled person, we learn how to adapt to our surroundings in that I have definitely become very resourceful, I like figuring how I can get things to go differently. Of course, stubbornness is part of this. I don’t like doing stuff the easy way and hate quitting anything, big or small. If I know something is potentially dangerous, it only makes me want to try it out. So I clearly show all three of these strengths in my daily life!

One thing I recently learned that comes with the sign itself has to do with something hasn’t always made sense. My mom tells me I’m the hard one to shop for and I never feel like I am. And then I read on an astrology site on the bottom section called, “How To Choose A Gift For A Scorpio Woman” we like little things and surprises. I honestly love a lot of things, I just don’t think anybody really listens so when it’s time to get me something for my birthday or Christmas. What they said about jewelry pieces is true, I honestly don’t wear a lot of jewelry but I love anything with spikes and with a “M” or my name in general.

One of the funny things about my sign has a day which holds some significance of some sort, whether it’s good or bad. Tuesday is mine I guess and I find it strange in a way because whenever I was a kid and in the process of losing my baby teeth. I would literally lose my tooth on a Tuesday or Thursday. I always thought it was weird as hell! And then in 2016, they switched the day of when music would be released from Tuesdays to Fridays, which made sense afterwards but Tuesday was my favorite day of the week because I knew new music would be released that morning! I never knew why Tuesdays had so much meaning to me until reading that!

There is honestly a lot you can learn about your Zodiac sign. My favorite way is to go on Pinterest, I have a whole board of different facts, likes and even some risque things, be glad I’m giving you a warning beforehand at least. So if you’d like to dwell into the mind of a Scorpio a little bit more, you can check out my board!

What Zodiac sign are you? Are you a true believer of it or still skeptical? Let me know below!

Roaring Of Trains II

20915290_1392140440899805_1517907181504910768_n

Howdy!

Today I have another one of those posts that was fun but also very bittersweet to write, because it has something to do with my papaw. Basically anything to do with trains, just upsets me a bit. I had a difficult time holding back tears when I watched Nat and Wes (and the rest) vlog of their twins’ Liam and Judah’s birthday, because they got a mini train track and it was just a little too sweet for me to bear!

Last year, I wrote a blog post when my northern family went and took many, many pictures of the 767 Nickel Plate Locomotive Train that the Fort Wayne Historical Society had restored, they gave out rides of some of the passenger cars and showed other weathered down trains that were just placed in random areas on the track. My knowledge of trains only goes so far unfortunately, but I do find them fascinating!

This time, my cousin Kristi wasn’t pregnant and so she got to go to the event and even brought little baby Joseph along! We have to start them young! He’ll probably be introduced to Thomas the train first to get him familiar with them and when he’s older then maybe his papaw or Uncle Chris will show him the importance of the model trains and maybe one day he’ll have himself a large set up like his great-grandpa who knows!

As I’ve tried to explain in the past, trains are a big thing in my family. My papaw was obsessed with them! He seems to have gotten his love of trains from both his father Gene and his grandpa George (I like to call him “Papaw George”) because we have old photos of random trains in black and white and they’re very old and fragile. My aunt scanned a fairly good chunk of family photos of us plus some of my papaw’s relatives, like his parents and the infamous aunts you’ve heard me talk about over the years! We’ve found quite a few pictures of papaw as a youngster climbing the caboose of a train and looking at it in awe, he couldn’t have been more than five or eight years old, but it’s so hard to tell because of how scrawny he was!

I would love to go to one of these events, we find a smaller train that allows rides but those are pretty expensive compared to the tickets to this event. I’ve already been on a train, if you want to call it that. We went to the Children’s Museum in Indianapolis years ago as a field trip and I was still technically healing from my surgeries, it hadn’t been a half a year yet and so I wasn’t allowed to go on very many rides at the time. However, my mom and I found this old train and it had screens inside the windows to make it seem you can going places, it rocked back and forth which made mom really worried at times. I think we sat there for two or three rides and that was good enough for me.

My friend Danielle, she went to the National Railroad Museum in York and she wrote three separate blog posts of her visit there and the pictures turned out amazing! I feel I would enjoy it more if it was indoors, my dad would probably do better with it too because hopefully it wouldn’t be so hot, but the only thing that would suck if that the trains itself wouldn’t be able to run like they do at these events in Fort Wayne. And why do they always have to be so damn far away?

Okay, I’m going to shut up now and show you some of my favorite pictures that my cousin Amber and Uncle David took while they were there this past month!

Album Review: “Rhapsodies In Black” by Exit Eden

18951120_415097612216750_3197680066864352688_nSo I have a new band for you, they’re called Exit Eden! If you are into the symphonic metal scene then you might know some of the ladies in the group. Oh yeah, all four singers are WOMEN! You know, there are a lot of female fronted bands that don’t like their bands called “female fronted” but I think it’s awesome! And I love the fact that these four powerhouses that have either fronted or were background singers for other well-known bands is amazing!

American singer Amanda Somerville and Brazilian vocalist Marina La Torraca have both worked with the Dutch heavy metal band Avantasia, while French soprano Clémentine Delauney has previously fronted Serenity but is now working with Visions of Atlantis. The last member of the group is German singer Anna Brunner is also the newcomer too, although I have yet to find if she’s worked with any bands yet or released her own material, she definitely has a strong voice to lend to the ensemble.

The album consists of 11 songs, but they are not singing their own songs. They’re actually covering a very interesting and unique blend of songs. I found it odd that they are covering more songs from the early 2000’s than maybe the 1980’s, but maybe there is copyright issues and were only allowed to do so many, but I still think the setlist is good though. I will say there were a few that I had to look up and see who they were originally by, but I’m hoping who the real artist is won’t cloud my judgement!

We start with Depeche Mode’s single “A Question of Time” and I didn’t know what to expect, but I sure liked it! I imagine the original version is very heavy, so the fact they is somewhat soft is fun. The song itself is very commanding so it works with the slight change of adding more symphony sounds and the male choir in the background. All of the ladies have different tones, but I really like Marina’s fierce vocals in the choruses. I apologize in advance if I get one wrong here and there. I’ve only figured out Anna and Clementine’ voices so far. The second is Rihanna’s hit “Unfaithful” that came out before she went bad. I liked the original a lot, but I’m not going to lie when I heard this one, I was shocked and happy all at the same time! I liked the raw string introduction and I really love Anna’s voice on this track. She has a strong, 80’s power-metal type of voice. It’s gorgeous! Majority of the heavy metal singers do not write personal songs so it’s a little strange to hear something that may not exactly be about them or their struggles, because half the time the music they do is more fantasy, folklore kind of stuff.

Third is another shocker and one that I really tried to keep an open mind about because they went and covered a Backstreet Boys song. Thankfully, not one of their bigger 90’s or 00’s hits, but still it’s a boy band song! However, it’s not bad! I liked the fact they kept the same slow tempo and didn’t destroy the essence of the song itself. I will say I do prefer the BSB version but this is a good effort! Next is Shontelle’s “Impossible” and I thought this was a different one. I remember it was a big hit in 2011 I think but didn’t think I’d ever see it on here. The melody’s not bad and I do like the addition of the guitar solo, but it is a hard song for me to listen to in any version so unfortunately I don’t like it as much as I wish I could and it has nothing to do with Exit Eden!

I wonder if it’s hard to do a Madonna cover? I mean, think about it. If you have listened to a song for years, know all of the words to it. How does one decide they want to not only cover it, but instead of keeping the pop sound, you change it to metal? I feel that would be difficult, but again I like the effort. This is Madonna’s “Frozen” and it’s hauntingly beautiful! Honestly, it could have been better without the beginning part of the guitar solo but that’s my opinion! Now we’re going to talk about a song that when I first heard it, I thought the original artist had covered it. No joke! It was Bryan Adams’s “Heaven” everybody has heard some version of this song at one point in their life! I have to say this is the one that I didn’t care for as much. I think there is too much and it’s mostly in the sound itself, I think the ladies were amazing but it lacked the same flair.

Keeping with the pop theme, we have Katy Perry’s “Firework” and even though Amanda Somerville is the only American singer in the group, and she seems to do most of the vocals, I think they managed to make it sound more Americana. Between Amanda and Anna’s voices, the vibe is unreal. It sounds so simple too! I don’t know how they did it! And then we have a shocker, it’s Adele’s “Skyfall” but it has become another song that has become a real hit as far as covering. The Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation also covered it in 2013. I liked the sound, it still has that powerful sound but I think it would have been better if it was only Clementine and Marina’s voices on the track.

This next one is one that everyone has heard, maybe in the right way. Several of us have only heard the crazy version on the snack commercials, like moi! It’s a good thing my mom doesn’t read my reviews! The song is Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” and it does sound roughly the same, the duo vocals between a male and female, but I have no idea who the guy’s voice is. It could be another singer of a band or their guitarist voice. I’m not really sure! I think the song itself is very good though! And then we have Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and I love the playful mobile sound at the beginning before switching to this sharp metal sound. I love Anna’s disornated voice during the bridge. I love the high vocals in the choruses – they’re going to be a bitch trying to hit once I figure out the melody again! It’s one of my favorites on here! The last song is Visage’s “Fade To Grey” and this was another song that I did not know at all. For the last song of the album, it definitely had the vibe “let’s go out with a bang” and I definitely approved of that! However, it does go a bit quiet once the verses start but it’s still very interesting though!

I was really surprised when I listened to this. I had been looking forward to it because I follow both Amanda and Clementine on Facebook, so finally I got to hear it officially was very satifasying! I almost got worried because it released in Europe first and I kept seeing on the band’s Facebook page that it was on Spotify and I kept having to check like every other day before I released we’d be second in line! I felt like an ass afterwards!

Have you heard of Exit Eden yet? Did you listen to the album too? What are your favorite(s)?

The New Royal Baby!

royal

Hi 🙂

I have to say I did not plan on having two royal posts going up this month. It just sort of happened on accident!

On the fourth of September, I was mainly excited for the fact that the public would finally be told of Sweden’s new royal baby that was born on August 31st. Prince Carl Philip (the only son of King Carl Gustaf XVI and Queen Silvia) and his wife Princess Sofia had their second child, a baby boy! They didn’t say what his name was until four days later after the King and heir apparent Crown Princess Victoria, announced that his name was Gabriel Carl Wurther, Duke of Dalarna.

All throughout the weekend, I had been trying to figure out what exactly they would name him. I looked through the previous Swedish kings (and queens) to see if there would be some good possibilities, but all three of King Gustaf’s children have used a royal name as a part of their middle names–not a first–only Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel’s second child Prince Oscar uses a former king’s first name.

So I had a tough time figuring out if I should stick with my first choice which was Gustav or go another route. I think my full guess was “Gustav Johan Folke”. I was happy of the choice of names for the little Prince though! I did get the “G” right! I’d like to know where they came up with both “Gabriel” and “Wurther” though, they might be the ones they liked the most or could be family names on Princess Sofia’s side. Now that we know about Princess Madeleine’s pregnant, I can start making some guesses on this upcoming Prince or Princess of Sweden!

After going on Facebook that morning, I actually spent a good five minutes trying to not to fall off my bed because the first thing I saw was that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child as well! I had actually seen an article like two weeks ago about people were betting that Buckingham Palace was going to announce something big soon. They were going back and forth between a new baby or Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, now we know!

My friend Gail had sent me a comment after I sent my mom the announcement of Prince Gabriel’s name and she asked what I was thinking for this new baby’s name would be. She and I were going through our favorite names, like Alexandra, Henry, and Arthur. We were discussing the fact that if it is a girl and she has the name “Camilla” everybody would be pissed! Honestly, I think Camilla is a cute name but I understand the reasons why it would be a name that people wouldn’t enjoy for a royal princess. Gail already has two combinations she likes: Alexandra Victoria Mary and James Albert Philip.

I’m thankful I have over seven to eight months left to figure out my combination. I’m dead set on Catherine having another girl though, so I’ve picked Caroline or Mary, mostly because “Caroline” starts with a “C” and “Mary” is from Prince William’s great-great-grandmother Queen Mary. However, there’s a slight difference between the British and Swedish royals. The British royal family will probably name their children after a royal ancestor, Prince George is named after both King George V and King George VI (even though his real name was “Albert”) and the name Charlotte has been used for Charlotte, The Princess Royal (daughter of King George III) so there’s a good chance that they will recycle a name.

There are many, many names that could be used to name this baby. Someone has noticed that Prince William and Princess Catherine have gone with Georgian era names and I found that both of my names guesses are apart of that list. I would like to see “Cecily” come back. The name hasn’t been used since Cecily of York, the younger sister of King Henry VII’s wife Elizabeth of York. After the House of York died out, apparently so did the name in the royal family. A name for a boy that is still a favorite is “Edmund” and it’s cute and a strong British name. The last time a prince was called “Edmund” was the last boy of King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York, who named him after Henry’s father Edmund Tudor. I’d like to see another Princess Victoria though, it hasn’t been used since Victoria, The Princess Royal (Queen Victoria’s oldest daughter) and I really like it! If they hadn’t used “Elizabeth” with Princess Charlotte, I would have said Victoria Elizabeth Mary as my favorite combination. However, the one combination that has been popping up in my head the most is Mary Augusta Frances.

I honestly don’t see them using a name that somebody in the royal family already has like “James” and it is a contender among people nowadays, but since Prince William’s younger cousin (Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex) is James, Viscount Severn. It is also Catherine’s younger brother’s name as well! I don’t really see it happening, but I kind of feel the same about Henry too, it’s only if he is called “Henry” and not “Harry” like his uncle I don’t think it wouldn’t be so bad.  If they do decide on using either one, I think it would be as a one of two middle names.

I think this will be a hard thing to figure out, because I’m honestly looking for roughly 12 names at one time! I have two separate babies from two different countries. So I’m being pulled into looking for traditional British names and nice, strong, original, Swedish names for the other. It’ll be very confusing once I get it all going, but I’m actually excited about it too!

Are you curious about what The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will name their new baby? Did you have any guesses for Sweden’s newest royal baby’s name?

Richard vs. Henry: Who Deserved The Crown?

bigbang

Hello 🙂

I have somehow managed to get involved in two different parties that involve two very powerful men in the British Royal Family. On Facebook, you have the Richard III Society and there’s also The Henry Tudor Society. If you’re not familiar with medieval kings, you may not know why these two sides have always been controversial. I feel like I should have published this on August 22nd since that was the date of the Battle Of Bosworth Field and this would make more sense because you could find tons of information about them, but I already had a blog post and it takes me too long to rearrange them, so I kept it for today.

Richard was never supposed to be king, but after the death of his brother King Edward IV he was given rights to protect his oldest nephew, the new King Edward V. However, when Richard locked him in a cellar with his younger brother Richard, Duke Of York at the Tower of London the two disappeared and people assumed Richard had them killed.

There was always a theory in the Tudor times that King Richard III was a hunchback. They even painted a portrait of him and basically used it as propaganda to the people of England. To many people those were rumors put in place by their historians to make him look more villainous. And then after 500 years of wondering about it, they finally found his grave site in modern day London, where they found a corpse of a man with a bent up spine just like Richard was rumored to have had as well! In 2012, DNA came up with positive results that it was indeed the lost hunchback king, Richard III.

When I heard about this I was amazed! I have read so many articles and watched two separate programs about him that I’ve sort of became a sympathizer to Richard. However, the question remains, if the Tudor were right about the fact he was disabled, what if he truly had his nephews killed?

Now we have to discuss King Henry VII, the son of Edmund Tudor and Margaret Beaufort. A woman who was betrothed to Edmund at the age of 12 and had Henry just under a year later. According to reports, it was a very traumatic experience for her but she loved her son very much!  She was the great-great-great-great granddaughter of King Edward III and great-great-great granddaughter of John of Guant, through his mistress but later became his wife Katherine Swynford. If you watch Game Of Thrones the term “bastard” should appear in your head right now.

Margaret was a loyal subject to the House of Lancaster, but when she married her fourth husband Thomas Stanley, 1st Earl Of Derby later on in life she changed sides to help support her common enemy King Edward IV and the House Of York. The reason why she didn’t like them was because after the fall of Henry VI and his wife Margaret of Anjou, her son was exiled and taken away from her to live in Wales with his uncle Jasper Tudor. So switching sides was not on her agenda by any means!

Despite this, she became one of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s ladies-in-waiting and was even present in the births of their younger children. After the death of the king, Elizabeth and her children took up sanctuary since she did not support Richard and she began to write to Margaret Beaufort and made arrangements to marry off her oldest daughter, Elizabeth of York, who herself was considered a bastard after Richard found any means necessary to strip the rest of the clan of their titles so they could not claim the throne without it being treason, even if that making the world believe that a dead woman was contracted to marry Edward before he met Elizabeth.

However, later the older daughters (Elizabeth, Cecily, and Anne) were allowed to come to court and become their aunt Queen Anne’s ladies-in-waiting and somehow a rumor appeared to a romantic fling between the Lady Elizabeth and King Richard III. I think, this was also propaganda against Henry Tudor as they knew she was promised to him if he fought Richard. After Richard was killed at Bosworth Field, Henry finally married Elizabeth of York and she went on to bore him seven children.

Prince Arthur who was heir apparent; before his death at the age of 15, married the Spanish princess Katherine of Aragon. Princess Margaret, who went on to marry King James IV of Scotland and is the grandmother of Mary, Queen of Scots and great-grandmother of King James VI and I. Prince Henry, who went on to become King Henry VIII and married Katherine of Aragon after the death of his brother and she bore him two children Princess Mary (who became Mary I) and Prince Henry, Duke of Cornwall who died just 52 days after his birth. He renounced the Catholic faith and married Anne Boleyn. She bore him another daughter Princess Elizabeth, who later became Queen Elizabeth I. After beheading Anne, he married her lady-in-waiting Jane Seymour and she bore him a son, King Edward VI but since she died shortly after, he went on to marry three more women: Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Katherine Parr.

His sister Princess Mary, became a Queen consort of Louis XII of France but it was only a brief marriage and she then returned to England and secretly married Charles Brandon, Duke Of Suffolk who was the king’s best friend and trusted adviser. She bore him two daughters Lady Eleanor and Lady Frances, who married Henry Grey, 3rd Marquess of Dorset, they had three daughters: Mary, Catherine and Jane, who was the de facto Queen of England after the death of her cousin King Edward VI. The other children of Henry and Elizabeth did not live to adulthood, but nevertheless they were Princess Elizabeth, Prince Edmund and Princess Katherine.

We know the stories of The Wars Of The Roses and what happened at the Battle of Bosworth Field, but everything in between is pretty bleak. It’s hard to choose a side to support, because I will admit I know more about the Tudor times, but after finding out the King Richard III was disabled and that he had scoliosis like myself, is kind of cool! There are many royals in history who suffered from disabilities that had lost their chances in the succession to the throne because of it. I have to fight not being mad about that, because it was a custom back then and unfortunately, that way of thinking is still ongoing in the different royal families of Europe.

What do you think of both the last Plantagenet and first Tudor king’s stories? Who do you think deserved the crown?

Album Review: “Ritual” by In This Moment

19366082_10158910196285054_3916349050705466920_nIn 2014, the band In This Moment released their album “Black Widow” and I was really pumped for it because I enjoyed their 2012’s record “Blood” hell I even got my mom into the title track, I was so proud of myself! However when I reviewed “Black Widow” I wasn’t really into it as I figured I thought I would be. So when I found out they were releasing a new album this year I was hoping for another bad ass album but figured it would be smart to be prepared for another flop.

If you don’t know anything about In This Moment, they are a female fronted band from California and the members consist of Chris Howorth on lead guitars, Randy Weitzel on rhythm guitar, Travis Johnson plays bass, and Maria Brink is the lead vocalist. They recently replaced their drummer after he left the band early this year, but I don’t think they ever released the new guy’s name because I have yet to found who it is! So I apologize for not having that piece of information.

The album starts out with an introduction. Since “Blood” they’ve had some sort of interesting intro to the whole thing. It makes you want to sit on the edge of your seat after each one. For Ritual, the introduction is called “Salvation” and it’s like two minutes long, but it’s mostly of creepy sounds. I don’t suggest listening to it in the dark! Don’t judge me either. It has these thunder like clashes and sirens and you hear a deep male saying different chants in the background. At the end, you have Maria quote something, my guess is something from the bible but I’m not sure on that. The actual first song of the album is their first single “Oh Lord” and I will say, I didn’t like it the first time I heard it. However, later on that day my outlook of it did a 180 and I’ve loved it ever since. It has this sultry vibe and I tend to think that with previous ITM songs. Anyways, the lyrics definitely have a gospel kind of feel and surprisingly so does the music even if it’s like really dark and heavy rock.

Second track is “Black Wedding” and when I saw this, my mind went directly to Game Of Thrones and the whole “red wedding” episode. They just ended the new season and I’m still pissed at that scene because I usually see those types of things coming and I didn’t, so I’m kicking myself even today! Anyways, this has a very creepy piano beginning, almost has a feel of carnival vibe. Thankfully when the choruses start, it subsides. It features a legendary rocker by the name of Rob Helford of Judas Priest, which explains a lot because as I was listening to it at first, I didn’t think that sounded like Maria! At the end has Maria saying another quote and it is the intro to the next song “In The Air Tonight” which is a cover of Phil Collins’ song. Now I will say I have never heard the original and I’m betting my dad would make me listen to it sooner than I think. It is mellow, slow and ominous. Maria does a good job of making this song come to life.

The next one is “Joan Of Arc” and again, it has a seductive sound. At first, I was a bit worried about how this was going to go, but I actually like it. The lyrics talk about the same things that the legendary Joan of Arc was accused of in mid-1400’s. We have “River Of Fire” next and I really like this one as a whole. It has a fierce, dominating sound to it and you get a small sections with Maria’s powerful roar. I feel like she doesn’t do those as often as she used to, or is that just me? It’s also pretty catchy, so it wouldn’t take me long to learn the words to this bad boy. The seventh track is “Witching Hour” and I’ve been wanting to know how this goes, because I had fallen in love with the title without even hearing it! It has a clear witch-y vibe to it and I liked that, it was just the music that I had a hard time getting into it. It’s very tame and there’s nothing really special about it. So I was bummed about that!

After, you have “Twin Flames” which sounds like it could be like a ballad in a way, Maria’s voice is very sultry and soft, music’s about the same but the volume does increase and you hear the heavier guitars more towards the choruses. It’s not bad! This was the other one when I saw the title I was like, “please be good” and thankfully I got this one right! It’s loud and theatrical, which is something that they’re becoming more known for both on stage and in their songs! The track is called “Half God, Half Devil” now you know why I wanted it to be good! “No Me Importa” is much more softer, you have the background sound of a piano against these harsh guitars. It has a good balance of sounds with the instruments used. I like it.

These last two songs start with “Roots” and this is another badass track! Very mysterious and I love the meaning of it. The strong lyrics is what gives it life. It’ll be another I will learn, however I hear quite a few “fuck”s in this too so I won’t be singing it out loud unless a couple of people leave me alone for a bit, which won’t happen! Anyways, finally we have “Lay Your Gun Down” and this is definitely a ballad, they usually have their slower stuff at the end of their albums and it works very well because after building up the listener, you need a good ballad to kind of get them ready for the end of the cycle. It is hauntingly beautiful, that’s about all I can say! I have a few songs to check the lyrics and this will be included in the list.

I have to say, I was worried about this album, but I am glad how good it sounds! I know whenever I listen to albums I tend to compare the next record against their last and I’ve noticed I do that more whenever I’ve reviewed it on here. I don’t mean to do it, it just sort of happens. If this came out after Blood, I would have been a happy camper because I think it’s in the same category of that album than Black Widow, but like always that’s my opinion.

What do you think of In This Moment’s “Ritual” album? How are you whenever you’ve chosen a favorite album, are you very judgemental to the next or do you try to keep an open mind about it?

The Wedding | Part Two!

20394728_827939504049379_348947217_o (1)

Hi 🙂

If you haven’t read any of the previous wedding blog posts these are all of them: Blondie’s Wedding DressBridal ExpoThe Bridesmaid DressesThe Bridal ShowerWedding Playlist –  Nails, Hair & DressesPart One.

Let’s begin!

Saturday morning was a bit of a blur because I remember getting up around sevenish and thinking, “mom will surely get up soon” because she told me we’d get up at 8am and go over to Blondie’s apartment and head over to the church. Well, my mother has been having issues with her alarm clock. She’s been hitting that snooze button a lot lately, and the day of the wedding was no exception! I think she got up maybe 10 minutes before she told her we’d be there. If you read the end of “part one” you know that all of our clothes we were going to wear over there were already at Blondie’s, well my mom put me in a Wonder Woman shirt. I wouldn’t had an issue with it if I hadn’t said what I did in my Maid Of Honor speech at the reception. I’ll get into that later!

When we got at the apartment I sat out in the car, patiently waiting to get this day started. When we arrived at the church, Blondie with her wedding dress in tow, found out that the doors to the church were locked after she had been told the night before that they wouldn’t be. So that was our first let down of the day! We sat out there under the canopy, soon after Jayde and Jace joined us. Somebody from the church itself came to unlock the doors and attempted to show my sister to turn on the air conditioners which again did not help at all! In our defense, the room the girls were given had like two fans so we definitely put them into good use when we all got there and during the ceremony!

Jayde worked on Jace’s hair and then once Dyllanne got there, she started working on my hair. While us girls were in the beginning process of getting ready, we had two little guests come into our room because they were early birds, both Jordan and Patty sat towards the back of our room and watched us and play on their phones. They also had their tuxes on! I’m pretty sure they were content on staying in there despite roasting in that part of the room. For some reason they left and all of a sudden we started hearing this banging going on and Blondie went running out and yelling at them because they were playing the drums! Skyela came a little bit after, she sat on the floor by her mirror she brought. Alli got her hair done at a salon and then got ready in our room. The only one who got there while we were to start doing pictures was Sam, but the poor girl had some issues with the zipper of the dress and had to get it fixed early in the morning.

We took the group and individual pictures in the large area of the church, I don’t know what it’s called so I apologize! All throughout the day, Brandon did NOT want to see Blondie until she walked down the aisle despite the fact he was there when she purchased her dress. He wanted to go the traditional route and so that’s what they did. So Blondie went first and we did group pictures with both bridesmaids and groomsmen. The littlest ring bearer Baby J was dressed up in his tux – he was so cute! He joined everyone and semi stayed still for majority of the pictures. He put up his devil horns inside the church area and what was interesting was after the wedding was over, our sound guy found Silento’s “Nay Nay” song and he started dancing. He did the stanky leg and then at the last he did a very inappropriate dance move which not only scared his mom but made me think in my head, “well we’re officially going to hell!”

Back to when we were getting ready, we had an hour to kill before the wedding was to start and so I hung out with my Aunt Laurie, Uncle Mike and nana for a bit. After talking to them for a bit, mom took me into the guys’ room as they had the cold room as my dad said as he was busy pulling up some of the girl’s zippers. Zippers on dresses are the worst! My mom pushed me out into the main area and I saw my grandma and grandpa. I got a good hug and compliments from both of them and then we all ran into the guys’ room and realized how much we deserved this room than the other one. Also, we had less of a mess in ours and we had more space!

And then it was time to line up.

Since I was in my push wheelchair, the best man, Allen pushed me down and then once we got to the crossroad Jayde pulled me back into my spot. Growing up, I was always curious to see who was in the audience; this was the one time that I didn’t care because I knew the focus was not on me and I was pretty content with it. When it was time for Blondie to walk, the song changed and I hadn’t even seen her yet before I started crying! I swore I saw dad cry though! She gave me her large bouquet and I had to hold both mine and hers in my between my toes. And I wanted them like this, because our original idea hurt my arms too much. I did not drop either one! They did this special thing in the middle with putting both gray and pink sand inside a frame of the two of them. I don’t know which one had it, but they mixed some of papaw’s ashes into it as well!

The ceremony was beautiful though and next we got to mingle with family and friends. I got a chance to bond with Baby J who did not understand why I wasn’t using my hands to do his spinner thingy. It was so cute! He also tried to push me around too! Thank god for Brandon’s dad though! When the guests all left, everybody sat out and chilled before going over to the reception area!

Everybody finally arrived there and situated ourselves in the small corners of the room. We all lined up once more and we were introduced and seated, but one thing I hated about it though was the fact Allen and I hadn’t even gotten halfway to the table before the DJ brought out the bride and groom. So I didn’t get to see that part, but oh well! We sat there for a bit, before everybody was allowed to get their drinks. I just wanted a sprite in the beginning, before I had any alcohol for the night, but the bartender I guess didn’t hear that I just wanted a sprite so he put a couple of shots of vodka in it and it was absolutely disgusting! However, I will say Blondie’s screwdriver drink was pretty good! I had some sips out that throughout the night.

We ate and it was time for the speeches. Allen went first and it was very sweet. Mine was a bit of a blur because I figured once Blondie started reading it out loud, she’d find the mistakes. I wrote out the speech so I imagined I’d have more than I thought. I did realize I never gave it an ending! I also couldn’t talk about Blondie much mostly because if I had, it would have been longer than a couple of minutes so I only talked about Brandon and the earliest memories I have of him, one of which was his loyalties on favorite superhero brand: Marvel or DC. I still think he fibbed and said Marvel so he wouldn’t get on my bad side, but now you know why I felt weird earlier that morning wearing my Wonder Woman shirt because that’s clearly DC–mom! And then I added a couple of notes for the both of them to remember down the line, in which Blondie proceeded to add things at the end of each part. I vaguely hitting her leg whenever she started doing this!

The last thing they did was cut the cake, thankfully Jordan took pictures and mom has video of it on her phone, although that has yet to grace Facebook. The DJ said “this can go either two ways, you can give it to each other nicely or stuff their faces” and Jayde, Jace and I were all like “she’d kill him if he did that!” and what do you know, he just shoved it in her face but it sort of missed her face (and dress) but he definitely got hit with it because she was pissed!

After the first dance, and father-daughter/son-mother dances were done, we were finally allowed to dance. Jayde was VERY happy about this! I had to be coaxed into it. I was way to insecure of my surroundings. I went to every dance in my electric wheelchair, so being in this chair freaked me out! I remember sitting at the edges of the bridal party tables in horror, enough that when Blondie came up and asked me why I wasn’t on the dance floor, I kind of burst into tears and I felt bad about that, because then I thought I would be ruining this for her. So I sat with Alli and her sister Shelby, trying to regain bits of my pride back. I felt bad for them but they were being nice and keeping me company, and then I saw Allen sitting in his chair by himself too so I decided to talk to him and we had a very nice chat.

And when our conversation had ended, I thought to myself “you know what it shouldn’t matter which wheelchair you’re in, you need a break from the bullshit you’re going through so go have some fun” all I remember next was saying “f*ck it” in my head and asking Allen to push onto the dance floor. He did and I basically danced the entire night away and it was so much fun! However, I was very glad whenever the DJ would play the slower songs because I needed a break in between or at least my butt and neck did. I saw my dad dance not only with my sister (twice) but with me (I tried to get away but he kept pushing my wheelchair back to him) and mom and it was a country song. The only country song I danced to that night! I was also pretty proud of myself of the fact that I didn’t go into a corner and cry my eyes whenever a slow song did play, that’s another bad habit I have unfortunately!

Before we decided to leave, I watched Brandon and all of the frat boys do this drinking game and I’m going by memory here called “Thunderstuck” I’m still not entirely sure what it is. Well dad almost did it but Blondie and mom talked him out of it. He was mostly around the groomsmen/frat boys the whole night so they had many drinks with him! He even hollered at Patty to give him a beer as he was doing the father/daughter dance. Blondie was livid! After this was over, mom and Blondie got started on cleaning and throwing things away, we were the first to leave in the actual party. Honestly, I could have lasted another hour, but not my body! The next day my dad and I were hurting in places that we forgot hurts a lot and again, I could have went out and danced again!

I had a lot of fun writing each post! I had never experienced any of the planning for a wedding before so I thought it was fun to blog about, I still wish I was more of a help in the process so it wouldn’t just been Blondie and Brandon dealing with everything. I wanted to experience the real chores of a maid of honor for her and I wasn’t able to do that. So I hope you all have enjoyed this posts!
