What I Love About Afternoon Tea!

Untitled

Hello!

Last October, when I stayed at my mom’s work while she recovered from her second surgery, my nana and I got to have a lot of fun together and one of the things we both got to enjoy was a theme dinner there at the nursing home.

Gail who works in the activities department explained to us that they try to have four different themes in a year. She and the other girls decorate the different dining rooms and they plan with the chefs of a meal that would go with that particular theme. The one I got to enjoy was “Serenade At The Seven Seas” or something like that. I liked it. I also loved trying the different courses, but the other ladies were a bit mixed though!

The theme was called “My Fair Lady” and I guess the ladies in the activities department decorated the dinning rooms and made feathered hats or “bonnets” for the female residents! She took pictures and even wrote out the menu of what they served to the residents! I was going to use the one she made, but it had some spelling mistakes so I just redid it – later I realized I could have spelling mistakes on mine! Funny how they works!

They also had a little tea party too!

According to Gail, in the film a couple of characters host a party and they decided to recreate that with the residents, so they decorated the large activity room with very pretty and colorful table clothes and had these beautiful centerpieces in the middle of them. They looked very vintage but yet modern too! They also made the ladies hats with feathers and ribbons in crafts. My nana really loved that, but as you can see apparently so did Alex!

28535342_1768924659838523_1707063689_nIn 2016, I actually wanted to have an afternoon tea themed birthday party. I had so many ideas that I wanted to do. I wanted to decorate my grandparent’s kitchen table with different fabrics, and since my birthday is like the day after Halloween, I knew my nana had a large black table liner and I thought if we put that on the table itself and laid out a red runner in the middle that way it wouldn’t look too dark and gloomy for the party!

Over the course of the last two years, I’ve actually wondered what I’d serve to this tea party if I ever had one! Since I read so many of my fellow blogger friends going to afternoon tea at different hotels or just plainly at home with their family members and/or close friends., I’ve been able to figure out what all is served, and I’ve grown to love the three teared stand of food that is laid out on the table. The first thing they give you is your tea. However, I’m like the 1% that doesn’t like coffee or tea, so I’m more interested in finding a good lemonade recipe. My mom actually made a homemade strawberry lemonade last year, where she let the strawberries sit out in the juice overnight to allow the flavors to marinate together. I’m kind of partial to anything raspberry, so whenever I see a “raspberry lemonade” on a menu at a restaurant, I instantly order it! So I’d rather have a raspberry lemonade instead.

As much as I’ve gathered, you usually start with the sandwiches, they are usually placed on the bottom and bigger tear. The traditional flavors are egg salad, smoked salmon and cumber all cut in small bites so they look more dainty, and they always have the crusts cut off! Now I look on Pinterest for other ideas to make this a little bit more casual, so I am curious about creating a sandwich or two as some kind of wrap or pinwheel–using the traditional plain tortilla or having a variation of spinach or whole wheat!

28058410_1761983790532610_4059021611573546546_n

On the second tear you had the scones, which apparently in the states we say the word completely wrong! I’d explain on how it’s really pronounced but I don’t even know how to describe it, so I apologize there.

I have actually seen quite a few of my favorite chefs make scones on their television programs, so I already know of some different kinds I’d like to try out. I also know that when you’re making them for the first time, they’re suppose to be crumbly, so there’s nothing wrong with them, that’s just how they’re meant to be! Ree Drummond created the Maple Oat Nut Scones after not being able to visit a Starbucks where she lives; they look really good! The way she described them on her show The Pioneer Woman they taste like a biscuit type of pancake, because it has a strong taste of maple syrup! However, I think I would have to keep the coffee out of it! And then there’s a Cheddar and Dill Scone recipe from Ina Garten, she’s made this with both cheddar and a Stilton, which is like a stronger blue cheese! She’s very inspired by French food and had a gourmet food store back in the day, so she’s figured out different ways to make a good savory scone!

28536475_1768924629838526_1468751189_nNow the real question is what would I do about the clotted cream and jam that they serve alongside the scones itself? I know we don’t have the traditional clotted cream or nobody makes it to that level as the British, so the next best choice to have would either be mascarpone or cream cheese! Personally, I’ve never been in jam or perseveres, so I wouldn’t necessarily put it out as an option if it was only me, but if I had a group of people, I’d probably get a small jar of strawberry or blueberry jam, but for those who want to be really adventurous they can try out the marmalade. You know, I love the smell of that stuff because it’s like oranges, but I have never tried it before and if it was put out there on the table, I probably would like to try a small dab of it.

As far as the top layer of the stand, my thoughts have differed, sometimes I think a very casual take on decorative cupcakes would work out very nicely! You could make minis so they’d fit on the tear better. However if you wanted to add a fun twist to them, like stuffing them, it wouldn’t necessarily work on the tiny ones. I’ve noticed I keep looking into French pastries. You’d think I’ve been watching too much Ina Garten lately! So the possibility of having macrons, which is something that is on my food bucket list (yes, I do have one those! I actually need to work on that soon!) and there’s the tarts or tarlets you can make, like the Mini Raspberry Tarts that Julia Baker made on her TV show! These were so cute and seemed really easy to make! If you’re a chocoholic, in which I sort of am, you need a couple of good chocolate desserts too! Truffles would be a good idea, as you can just eat it in one bite! You could dip strawberries in chocolate or make little pote de creme (puddings!) in mason jars too.

There doesn’t seem like there’s a right or wrong way to create your own afternoon tea! If you’re interested in learning and seeing what is actually served at the teas in the United Kingdom, I have compiled a list of favorite blog posts for you! I hope you have enjoyed this post!

Are There Two Babies?

Howdy!

Well… I’ve got one heck of a surprise for you today!

You’re all probably thinking by the title of this blog post that I am going to be an aunt of two little babies, but as far as I know, there isn’t a second baby in there, but I do have some interesting news to share with you.

My cousin Kristi is expecting baby number two!

Right now, she’s ten weeks into her pregnancy! And I guess we’re calling this one “peanut” again, since we already have a “nugget” I don’t know why everybody is choosing to give their fetuses foodie nicknames at the moment but I’m not arguing! Especially with two very pregnant women! Anyways, it came as a shock to everyone; maybe even to Kristi the most who we all definitely heard back in November say that she wasn’t going to have another one for “a long time.” And then this was announced on Facebook!

26805229_10215131456185482_7615171585538341973_n

Speaking of Facebook! Another reason why I wanted to do this post is because originally I was going to talk about the gender reveal party for Blondie and Brandon, but since we had that big snow storm last month, they’ve been a little worried that we’d get a second or third storm in the meantime and nobody would be able to come down or get stuck here, so they ended up cancelling it and decided on announcing the sex of the baby on Facebook. My mom got the idea of putting all of their animals in their bathroom and wrapping the string of the right color balloon on their collars and after the door opens, they run out of there and it reveals the gender! The video itself was a bit chaotic because both Chipper and Gru ran out of there so quickly that you couldn’t really see the balloons at first and then Otis, Samuel and Toni had different colored balloons, so although it was a cute announcement, it had its moments of confusion as well! It was a nice and belated Valentine’s Day gift.

Unfortunately I’m unable to share the video on here! So this is all you’re getting for a while!

IT’S A BOY!

Considering I was thinking it would be a girl, I was a bit stunned on the fact I was very wrong! Nolan Wayne is going to be his name. They’ve changed it a lot. So I’ve been debating whether or not I wanted to share it on here in case they decide to do it again.

Now we can start buying things that are not white or gray for the little nugget! Trust me, it’s a little harder to find neutral stuff at Walmart or Dollar General. At least for me it is! I am happy that his life will be fill of Legos, trains, cars, sports, muddy clothes, and of course superheros! I’m going to invest on a pair of Avengers sneakers and a Butler University onesie for him! Oh, I’m going to have so much fun spoiling this little guy!

I wanted to share some of Blondie’s baby bump pictures on here! The first two I had to edit myself because she didn’t put how many weeks she was on the actual pictures like she’s been doing lately! She’s also not constantly putting them up either. Kristi wasn’t that way either when she was pregnant with Joseph, so I don’t think she’ll do it with the new baby, but since Joe is away she might consider it down the line. If she’s comfortable with sharing any of them on here especially whenever I do a baby shower (that is if she has one!) post for her!

I just thought I’d share some of the exciting news with you all! And considering it’s a Monday and everything, you might need that little bit of happy news! Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

Can you guess what little nugget’s name going to be? Or do you have any name suggestions that go great with big brother Joseph?

Photo Diary | Massive Amount Of Cats!

Howdy!

So I am back with another photo diary and I apologize in advance for anybody out there who doesn’t like cats, because between the last photo diary and my recent post about how I got a new camera I’ve managed to consume a lot of cat pictures in just two months! This is ridiculous I know, but for those who love our cats, you will enjoy the stories and pictures below!

This first batch was from the previous camera and I do remember banging it on our back porch and the cats just staring at it like food was going to come spilling out of it. Greedy little bastards! If I haven’t told you this, the reason why I have a lot of pictures of them eating is because half the time they just run into the house whenever you open the doors so it’s better to have food on hand to help distract them so I can scoot out to the porch. It seems to work with all of the cats but Bootsie. She’s still the one that makes a beeline to the food container or one of the bedrooms. We can’t tell you how many times where we’ve found her just chilling on the bed after a few hours!

This next batch, I decided to experiment with the different settings on my new camera and somehow I managed to create this red-ish hue around the cats and the shadows of chairs, I don’t know what explain made everything like that but I don’t think it was a bad thing!

On the day I took these I screwed my camera onto my little tripod and they seemed to think was another thing to rub up against because I had to delete quite a few (and still have to) because they would just head butt it and fall over in front of me, but I hope they realize that all I want to do whenever they act like this is take more pictures of them! Everything they do though I want to try to capture it on film and post it on here for you guys but they are fast little boogers! I can never get them to stay in one place too long before they get bored and run away from me to explore. I can’t say I blame them for this, if I had the power to do that I would do that too!

Again, I’m sorry for the big selection of pictures of the cats! I definitely didn’t plan on taking so many at one time. It just sort of happened and funnily enough, I don’t think I will ever learn from this because I kind of like it. I definitely didn’t want them to be individual pictures at the different parts because I figured that would make it worse and unappealing! So that’s why I ultimately made them into a slideshow!

Hope you’ve enjoyed all of the pictures. I’m also thinking about playing a game for all of my readers via Twitter and Facebook next month, called “Name That Cat” and I’m testing everybody and you have to guess who is who. Remember the names are: Bootsie, Midge, Grumpy, Bear-Bear, Stormy, Tavis (Tavy), Felix (FiFi), Oscar, and Nelson (Nelly)!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Which picture(s) are your favorites? If anybody has any good camera knowledge that would be more than welcome to help explain a few things to me, that would be great!

DIY: Easter Wreath!

Howdy!

The first couple of weeks of March were pretty interesting! My nana and I decided to get a head start on our DIY projects! We hardly ever do anything for Easter, which I’ve always thought was interesting because people normally do the eggs, but why is that the only thing they do for Easter?

Technically, she didn’t say anything about doing any big Easter crafts! The only thing she wanted to do was a holiday tree, which I’ll explain in another post soon! We worked on this project throughout the beginning of March. We have NEVER done a wreath before! This wreath was our trail and error. My nana wants one for herself and we’re waiting to do this one with my Aunt Laurie maybe! So this is actually for my mom at her workplace! Thankfully she didn’t mind if the whole thing looked rustic!

17021428_1404979706233022_8686808706120415891_n

What you will need for this:

  • Sheet of Cardboard
  • Ruler
  • Cake Tin
  • Xacto Knife or Scissors
  • Plastic Eggs
  • Fake Grass
  • Glue

Like I said above, this was our trail and error wreath, so I’m going to tell you a better way of doing it than how we did it. We realized a couple of times halfway that we should have done a certain part first. I am also including the original link I found on Pinterest of the craft, in case you wanted a better source!

Okay, so the first thing we did was take a 9″ cake tin on top of a fairly medium sheet of cardboard that my nana surprisingly still had after all these months! I used the cake tin as a guide and it’s better to get the middle one traced and cut as well! This was one of our first mistakes! Mostly because we were rushing and decided to get the first row of eggs on the actual circle before I had to leave for the day! Anyways, what we used was a 6″ snow globe (I’m a resourceful person – use what you got!) to trace around and then nana cut out the middle hole with a xacto knife! The first one she just used scissors!

16999174_1404978636233129_4344446444813437758_n16997903_1404978466233146_109796073652634715_n16997811_1404979586233034_5777508079835848203_n16938446_1404979589566367_6401912678111817490_n16998870_1404979856233007_3838388489366463112_n

As you will see in the next batch of pictures, we did have to move our circle further into the middle after we glued the first row of eggs to the edge, but in general it was already like that even without having the eggs on there!

On the original directions, the person uses a hot glue gun, well we decided to go with regular glue which was a semi bad and good idea, only because we’ve had to reglue like five or six eggs and luckily it’s mostly the same eggs that have been loose on us! This is where we tried to do what the original link tells you do next and place the eggs close to the edge because you need room to put the second batch of eggs! However, since the cake tins weren’t that big we couldn’t glue the eggs how they were supposed to, so nana thought we put them on their sides like they’re forming a train! And that’s how we figured out that problem!

17098414_1404980919566234_1456782336409323068_n17021507_1406902146040778_2138669722086232481_n17022176_1406902209374105_3559532795613033094_n17098553_1406902282707431_2230693945932484859_n

We actually did all of this in three days, so they had multiple days to dry and were left alone unless a couple were loose and then nana put extra glue underneath them!

When we finally got to adding the fake grass throughout the empty spaces. I was really worried we weren’t going to be able to put much on or shall I say, I didn’t think I’d be able to put my big freaking toes in some of these teeny areas! Somehow I was wrong again but I did have nana do most because towards the end as I was getting more and more frustrated! Fake grass likes to stick to you when you’re sitting directly underneath a vent! Anyways, we finally found a way to stuff a small ball of it into the crevices and use a pen or colored pencil to shove it into the areas it all worked out pretty good after that!

Once we got as much “green” grass we could get on it, my mom put in a request to add more into the areas I couldn’t get into. So we had some yellow grass here and there to make her happy! Next time we’re going to actually glue on the glass first before even do the eggs to see if that is better! We never got to doing the back, so she would be able to hang it up somewhere. She says it is now on top of her work’s activity center’s door!

After a couple of days, my mom actually had a co-worker asking if we could make her one for her door as “it was bare” so essentially my nana and I got our very first order! We are still getting the last of the details done with it, but yeah! It seemed like a cool way to end out this post!

17201302_1412388452158814_7344036557562968770_n17191314_1412388455492147_256451905481087440_n

The next DIY project we’re doing is actually for me! There are some similarities between the two, but you’ll have to wait to find out! If you’re following my blog’s Facebook page I will share sneak peeks so keep an eye out there too!

Hope you all have enjoyed this post!

Are you doing any Easter crafts this year?

OOTD: Bossy!

Hi 🙂

I’m back with another outfit of the day! I knew once spring decided to come around that my mom, nana and I would be able to go back to these posts again! I generally love working on them and showing off my style with all of you too!  I know I had mentioned in my previous OOTDs that I was going to start wearing more colorful outfits but you all should know about my love of black by now too! I don’t see the problem of wearing too much at one time!

This shirt is new, it was included into that fairly large shopping spree back in February, it is a regular graphic tee with “Not Bossy, Just Better” written on the front of it. When I saw it on the rack I couldn’t help myself, I had to get it. Something you may not know about me is that I have a strong personality, sometimes people confuse my attitude with being “bossy” but I feel like I am far from that. I just have strong beliefs and don’t like being told certain things, as a disabled woman seeking independence I don’t like when people assume and judge me. I think I can do the things you are able to do, but maybe even better and this is where people get carried away and automatically think I’m stuck up when I’m not. So this is probably my third shirt that I’ve worn that has a true statement about something I truly believe in some way!

This was also around $7 because it has a saying on the front of it. I’m sorry if you have trouble reading it through my hands, that’s the one negative about it, the font is fairly large and my hands take up most of the space on it.

17343052_1426554407408885_669559395284883155_n17424749_1426554390742220_1358115454739222848_n

I feel like I’ve worn these pants in a blog post before, but I’m not for sure so I had my mom and nana take them just in case I was wrong!

These are actually pants, not leggings! I don’t have very many of them in my drawers mostly because they’re a little hard to find and fit through my thigh and butt! I’ve always loved these though because the design of the skulls (not even sorry!) have like a black and white sugar skull theme on them. The material is nice and soft, they’re definitely made of cotton because they’re so thick, considering it’s “spring” it sure as hell didn’t feel like it! I was secretly freezing when that picture was taken up top and these were the only part of my body that was nice and toasty. I’ve learned to smile through the cold and hope to God that the sun can warm me up a little, it didn’t happen but hey, we still accomplished our mission!

17309461_1426554934075499_8941048816011719021_n17362606_1426554957408830_1526864821260910397_n

Unfortunately, I purchases these a few years ago so I don’t remember where we got them nor how much they were, but I’m thinking we got them at Wal-Mart too! I rarely find any skull bottoms anywhere besides Hot Topic! It’s a “once in a blue moon” motion whenever I find something at Wal-Mart! Oh, and don’t even bother asking how many skull leggings this is because even I don’t know!

I also wanted to try out an old hairstyle I modeled as a kid, while in grade school I had really long hair and a month or so before I had my back surgeries we were forced to get it cut short because of the metal halo that would be placed around my head. This was over 14 years ago and this is the first time I’ve had my hair just as long as I did back then. After July, I am getting a hair cut–maybe not a pixie but it will be short again at the end of the summer! I’m semi happy but sad too!

So what do you think of this outfit? Yay or nay? Do you have a shirt that reflects your personality to a T?

The Bridesmaid Dresses!

17078372_744924202350910_918096523_n

Howdy!

I am discussing everything wedding today! If you follow me on Twitter, you might’ve noticed that on February 26th, I finally got fitted for my maid of honor dress as the rest of the bridesmaids had gone in early January, since some of the girls were still on break. We were supposed to go, but my nana had been having some issues with her health and my mom didn’t want to risk leaving her alone.

It was during this trip that they got to pick the style of dress they wanted to wear, because I think Blondie was going back and forth on what exactly she wanted us to wear for the wedding, she originally didn’t want any kind of lace. She didn’t want it on her dress or ours, even though I believe if you’re going to have a Disney (and Superhero) theme wedding, lace would be a classic go-to addition. Ultimately, the rest of the camp found a dress that they liked–after trying like 8 others–and it has lace on it! So technically I was happy about it and I didn’t even express my opinions on it, because I feared I’d get yelled at, so I kept my mouth shut!

The girls that went are all wearing one shoulder strap dress, that has thick lace material all around the front that gradually goes to the left shoulder and it has a nice bodice with a thin belt just before the bottom flows out; it’s very soft and it has an airy, so you can do a lot of movement! The girls will be wearing it in the color “tickle” which is described as a lighter shade of pink. The color scheme that the couple has went with are pink and silver.

Here are Sam, Jace and Jayde modeling the longer dresses, trying to get fitted into their sizes, on the first day there!

17078372_744924202350910_918096523_n

I’d say the middle (Jace) is almost the gray/silver they’re going for, but all of the dresses will be in that pink, while Brandon, his groomsmen, and my dad–yes, he’s wearing a tux, but with a bandana–are wearing silver tuxes and I think pink ties! Oh, and brown shoes! Yeah, my mom and I are still wondering who’s idea that was because Blondie was there with them as they got fitted for theirs!

Now on that day I finally got fitted for my dress and I will be truthful when I say this, I am pale as a ghost and have awkward shoulders. I have previously explained this several times on here about the fact my shirts always fall off one of my shoulders, no matter how many times we try to fix it, it’ll find a way to slip right off! When my mom looked to see how big that strap was on the shoulder, she was really worried if it would even stay on the shoulder because it is a thick section of material and I have such small shoulders, that we were wondering how would this work on me?

Well, the day we arrived there, it was partially crowded with brides and their families and friends. Dad dropped us off while he and Brandon went to get his tux and pants fitted (he was NOT in a mood to do this at all!) and I sat quietly in my wheelchair fighting the urges to look through the dresses and wondering if I would have to find another dress because the chosen one wasn’t going to stay on my shoulders.

We were taken into a little fitting room, because I did not feel comfortable to be out in the open as she took my measurements. The lady was not exactly liked by my sister, mostly because she had measured her friend Jace wrong the first time they were there, saying she was one size when she wasn’t. We have never measured my body before, even for prom, mostly because both dresses were bought from JC Penney and Dillard’s. This had happened again when she measured only my chest and bust, but not my hips. So she started us with a size 2 and 4.

The size 4 barely went over the top of my head, we never got past my ears, and we tried to go in reverse and put my feet in first but my ass was too big for it, so I clearly wasn’t a 4. We tried a 5 and then 6, an 8, and finally found out that 10 was good, it went over my head and fit perfectly, but I could hardly breathe! So we figured that a size 12 would be better in case I did in fact gain more weight over the cross of the next few months and my mom didn’t think I would be able to eat and dance in it either.

Between my hips, ass, and the damn zipper we were having the worst time trying these dresses on! In a way, my mom and I were happy that I learned to transfer and stand up nice and strong on my own two feet, but my poor pinky wasn’t having to do it multiple times. Blondie was the one actually pulling it up to my chest and attempting to zip it up, as my mom was the one holding up my upper body. By the second or third try, my sister just situated herself behind me where I was literally sitting on her lap! I loved her for that because my feet were ready to give out a couple of times. When we got to the last dress, her poor thumb was red and slightly swollen after trying to pull it up at the back.

This was the end result of that mess!

17078020_10202613117447223_1893471136_n

Now as you can see how the dress is on my upper body and most importantly my shoulder, you can see our concerns of the material being so much that it actually looks like it could slip off! I refuse to go strapless though, that was my rule from the get go, was no strapless dresses for me! I don’t think it would stay up. It’s not the size of my bosom that I was concerned about it is mostly because since I can’t move my hands to lift it back up, I feel it would be a disaster! So when it comes in, we’re going to have that section altered and tighten on my shoulder and hopefully we won’t have to really worries about it afterwards!

As I’ve said above, the six bridesmaids are wearing long dresses, since I am the maid of honor, I am wearing a “short” dress. However, the more we went up in sizes, the length of the actual dress kept increasing! I wanted a shorter dress because after both of my proms and having a long dresses, I would have be careful in driving my wheelchair because I would run over myself! I cannot tell you how many times I did that during my Junior year. I think when I wore my brown dress for Homecoming, I had my mom tie a hair tie in the back to help keep everything together so I wouldn’t get stopped by my dress! I believe we did this during prom too, but I don’t necessarily remember. We’re hoping the length hasn’t changed drastically to this dress that we’d have to do the same thing, but you never know!

Unfortunately, I don’t know what the brand the dress is originally from and I’ve looked it up and still didn’t find anything about it. The price for the actual dress is $179.95, I think Blondie said she had a discount, so I think they would be a little less than that; also since it was a short dress, that also should make it cheaper, but I think it was still around $100 which is what I told myself I did not want to do was get something so expensive, but it is mine and if I run over and ruin it, I don’t have to give it back to the store like my dad and groom have to! Haha!

What do you do think of the dresses? Yay or nay!

Dear Papaw

I decided to write this post earlier because I figured as the day got closer I wouldn’t be able to find the right words and I also used the Butler Bulldogs game against Xavier to help keep me focused on this too!

Dear Papaw,

Today will be the one year anniversary of your death and I am sitting on the edge of my bed watching Butler going up against Xavier right now. I’ve watched so many basketball games in these past few months that I surprised I don’t know more of what’s going on within the actual game! I don’t exactly know who to throw the blame on because something tells me if you ever tried to teach me any basketball terms, I may not had been a willing participant! So this is my own fault!

I’ve been pretty proud the team though. They’ve kicked Villanova’s ass, who is #1 in the Big East conference (is that right?), twice this season. Once in November and the other this past month. I remember because I watched both, the first game was the one I watched for the very first time since you’ve been gone, which mom and dad seemed to think was cute! However, I cannot wear my actual Butler shirts on the days they play because in the last two games, they’ve lost, so no more of that until the season is over.

I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve turned your cabinet in the kitchen into my little storage area. Nana and I are only using one section, so don’t worry! I read your Smithsonian magazines and we store them in there! Your railroad magazines go into your bookshelves. I’ve also been using your room a bit too! The next time David comes down, nana’s going to get him (or Laurie) to put the typewriter into your room by the vent for my project.

You wouldn’t want to see your room, it’s a mess! However, if you were to compare yours up against mine, I’m pretty sure we’d be even! You can still see the green carpet and walk through without having that much of a difficulty! Other than that, it has a LOT of stuff around, but everything has a reason to be in there. Nana cleaned the “organ” desk and I arranged most of your family’s books  into the bottom area. I have never felt more like Superman than at that moment! You would have grabbed every single book off of my shin and put into that section yourself if you saw how far out I was sitting on my seat!

If you think your bed got a little bit smaller, it sort of did. Emily and Brandon’s “puppy” Chipper peed on it and Emily, Brandon, and mom took the mattress outside and I think mom washed your IU blanket that evening. Everything’s good now, except for the fact you’re missing a mattress!

You would love Chipper! I think you would be kind of scared of him, but don’t worry I have daydreams of the dog running up on me and basically colliding into me on accident and I end up in the ER with a dislocated shoulder or something, because he’s not small like ChiChi. Oh, no! Chipper is a pit bull, like Chancey and I’m betting you’d treat him just like you did with both Casey and Chance! Why did we name all of our animals in a “C” by the way? That’s like a question, you can ask your relatives up there, why is there a lot of “E” and “L” names in the family?

We’re at nine minutes into the game and Xavier is kicking our butts! It’s not by much though, so we could still take this!

I wanted to tell you that I think you’ve been recraninated into a hawk or maybe a buzzard, anything that soars over my head, confuses me now! Anyways, the day you passed when we went to the hospital and drove back home, I saw over 30 hawks in different places; whether they were flying around or sitting in trees or lamp posts, they were around. As most of the family was thinking you had something to do with the weather, which makes sense since you liked to shake the mini snow globe in the kitchen on the days that mom had to go to work the next day, we drove in both sunshine and snow flurries! I went another route, I thought since you always saw a hawk on the way to the hospital and back home when I was about to be born. I thought you had turned into a hawk.

You now have a hawk like across the street, it has a nice, big nest in the tree next to the house with that fenced-in area where those dogs used to live and bark like they didn’t have a care in the world! I saw it one afternoon and I had mom take pictures of it!

untitled

I don’t where you are, you might be up in heaven or you’ve turned into a hawk. Who knows, but you know half of your family is a comedian so you know this was coming one way or another! I can’t do nothing else, but this for you. You’d rather hear about the happy times and how well Butler is playing than anything else anyways! Oh, and the reason why I haven’t discussed any of the IU games is because, I haven’t seen a single game, except for that one but that was on accident. Mom sat on the remote and she found it and that score, if I remember correctly wasn’t pretty by any means! We’re all in agreement that you were a big party in heaven when the IU coach was fired last week!

Kelan Martin just put a three pointer in the last few seconds of the first half! Hopefully, they’ll continue to do good as the second half starts.

Okay, I’m going to end this here. I think I’ve said a lot the what, twenty minutes? You know me well enough, that in of itself is a lot, even for me! I hope you continue to watch over us, but not haunt us! You can visit in our dreams, but don’t scare the crap out of us, like you were known to do here! I don’t know if I can handle another one of those types of dreams again!

I love you lots!

Meg-HAN! Your “cool” granddaughter 😀
