December Playlist

untitled

So this is the last playlist of 2017!

Now you’re probably wondering why I’ve decided to publish this on Christmas? Well, in order to achieve my three blog posts a week routine, I needed a starter and since the holiday does land a Monday I thought, why not? I also thought about how sometimes people start their Christmases so early that they casually stroll on the web to check on their socials and whatnot, so that was my other reason for this too.

Mama by Jonas Blue
Falling Down by Duran Duran ft. Justin Timberlake
Stay In The Dark by The Band Perry
Wolves by Selena Gomez and Masrhmello
I Did Something Bad by Taylor Swift
Kiwi by Harry Styles
Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter
We Runnin by Tommee Profitt and Beacon Light
Carol Of The Bells by Lindsey Stirling
Ding Dong Merrily On High by Celtic Woman

If you haven’t had enough of Christmas music, I’ve listed every Christmas song that I’ve listened to, my favorites of the three reviews I did and the movies I’ve watched in the past month at the top of the actual Spotify playlist. I’ve been on a nostalgic kick lately so I’ve included a lot of hip hop songs from the early 2000’s in it as well. Hope you all enjoy it! I will not stop putting music on there after tomorrow, so you’ll have to come back next week to see what else I’ve put in it!

Since this will be my final playlist of the year, I decided to put all of the monthly playlists I’ve done throughout the year at the bottom, plus the wedding playlist since I just added that instead of doing a whole “July” playlist and I also put the annual summer on there too! I’m also going to attempt to update my Review tab at the top, as I haven’t added anything since probably June or maybe even a little earlier than that.

New Do!!

Howdy!

When I was younger I had REALLY long hair, like I used to scoot on the floor and whenever I’d back up and I would pull on my own hair! At the time, I loved it and so did everybody else. I might be going out on a limb here and saying I only kept it was because of the compliments I’d get from the people I was around, whether it was teachers or family members, everybody was in love with my hair! And apparently I liked the attention…

In 2002, we were told that I was going to have my back surgeries to correct my scoliosis, but first I would need to have a metal halo put on me. They would screw this metallic half circular thing onto my head and eventually they’d take it off during the last hours of the third. The day we got it cut off was a spur of the moment kind of thing. We were shopping somewhere and we talked them into just braiding it one last time before doing it at a certain point. We actually cut it pretty short, I think I came home with a bob, that’s how short we got it.

I was crying the whole time!

I absolutely hated my hair that short! Honestly, I’ve never liked my hair short. I think I just kept trimming it that way because it was the easy way to take care of it. You don’t have to wash it as many times as with having long hair, despite the fact you can’t have a long braid down your back, everything about it is better.

So why the hell did I decide to grow it out again?

I don’t know, I really don’t. Maybe a part of me missed it. I mean, let’s be honest I was like the brunette Rapunzel here!

When I went to the Five Finger Death Punch concert with my friend Brittany in May 2016, I loved my hair at that length. I looked like myself and most important I thought I looked beautiful. I didn’t look like a boy, nor did I feel like it was too much to have hang down. I figured it was my comfort zone since I’m not a big fan of  spike-y hair on me. I know, shocker! I’ve had my hair spiked too many times during my teenage years that once I turned 21, I no longer wanted it like that anymore.

When Blondie and Brandon picked a date for their wedding, I told everybody that I’d get my hair cut in August. I wanted to give myself one last braid before I went and cut it all off again. One thing I didn’t count on was since I’ve been out of school, I’m not really around a lot of people and I honestly don’t post a lot of pictures of myself online anymore so when everybody saw the length of my hair, friends, family and everybody else was an awe of how long it was and it did make me feel good, but when you are in so much pain in your neck because of the weight your hair was giving off, you know it all needs to come down soon!

Since I went to the nursing home while mom was busy recovering at the hospital, she asked if I wanted to have the salon lady Debi cut it for me. Truth be told, I was actually going to suggest the same thing but figured I’d be told no. So, two days after being there, I woke up that Thursday morning a bit giddy as I knew I was going to get it done one way or another. I already had a plan of how much I was removing but I don’t think Debi or my nana were expecting so much, and since she was a bit hesitant beforehand I started to second guess myself a bit but we ultimately agreed on the same length and if I wanted it shorter then we can go shorter.

We went to the edge of my neck. So it isn’t necessarily a bob or shoulder length either. However, since my neck does drip over into the right side it is longer than the other but that can’t be fixed by her. That’s just my anatomy! She did cut my bangs, but I think I probably should have left them alone or just trimmed them so far and then stopped. One thing that I didn’t think through was that I got it done before lunch so I didn’t know of the troubles I was to have while eating my meal an hour afterwards. The way I eat is that I bend over and reach with my tongue and month and everytime I tried to take a bite my whole left side of my hair kept going into my plate. It’s not fun to eat your own hair. We ended up having one of the CNAs put half of my hair up to hopefully make eating better for me! It worked, but now that I’m home I use a headband.

One funny thing I wanted to share before I end this post was the fact that my dad was the last one to know I got my hair cut. Since mom and nana knew about it from the beginning and Debi had tagged a picture of it with nana in the background to my mom on Facebook so she saw it while at the hospital. Blondie and Brandon only knew about it because I went to stay with them the following weekend. So dad was literally the last to know about it and his reaction was priceless! He was actually speechless, later he did find the words to say that he liked it. So far he hasn’t said anything about the bangs but they’ll grow out!

Here is a before and after into seeing how much hair I actually got rid of last month! There are a few people I’ve talked to, that have said I can still get my hair braided, it just might be only french braid or dutch braid maybe. Right now I’m going to relish in not having it up in a ponytail all the time for the time being!

Have you ever cut your hair so short that you actually regretted it? What is your comfortable length? Short, medium, or long?

The Wedding | Part Two!

20394728_827939504049379_348947217_o (1)

Hi 🙂

If you haven’t read any of the previous wedding blog posts these are all of them: Blondie’s Wedding DressBridal ExpoThe Bridesmaid DressesThe Bridal ShowerWedding Playlist –  Nails, Hair & DressesPart One.

Let’s begin!

Saturday morning was a bit of a blur because I remember getting up around sevenish and thinking, “mom will surely get up soon” because she told me we’d get up at 8am and go over to Blondie’s apartment and head over to the church. Well, my mother has been having issues with her alarm clock. She’s been hitting that snooze button a lot lately, and the day of the wedding was no exception! I think she got up maybe 10 minutes before she told her we’d be there. If you read the end of “part one” you know that all of our clothes we were going to wear over there were already at Blondie’s, well my mom put me in a Wonder Woman shirt. I wouldn’t had an issue with it if I hadn’t said what I did in my Maid Of Honor speech at the reception. I’ll get into that later!

When we got at the apartment I sat out in the car, patiently waiting to get this day started. When we arrived at the church, Blondie with her wedding dress in tow, found out that the doors to the church were locked after she had been told the night before that they wouldn’t be. So that was our first let down of the day! We sat out there under the canopy, soon after Jayde and Jace joined us. Somebody from the church itself came to unlock the doors and attempted to show my sister to turn on the air conditioners which again did not help at all! In our defense, the room the girls were given had like two fans so we definitely put them into good use when we all got there and during the ceremony!

Jayde worked on Jace’s hair and then once Dyllanne got there, she started working on my hair. While us girls were in the beginning process of getting ready, we had two little guests come into our room because they were early birds, both Jordan and Patty sat towards the back of our room and watched us and play on their phones. They also had their tuxes on! I’m pretty sure they were content on staying in there despite roasting in that part of the room. For some reason they left and all of a sudden we started hearing this banging going on and Blondie went running out and yelling at them because they were playing the drums! Skyela came a little bit after, she sat on the floor by her mirror she brought. Alli got her hair done at a salon and then got ready in our room. The only one who got there while we were to start doing pictures was Sam, but the poor girl had some issues with the zipper of the dress and had to get it fixed early in the morning.

We took the group and individual pictures in the large area of the church, I don’t know what it’s called so I apologize! All throughout the day, Brandon did NOT want to see Blondie until she walked down the aisle despite the fact he was there when she purchased her dress. He wanted to go the traditional route and so that’s what they did. So Blondie went first and we did group pictures with both bridesmaids and groomsmen. The littlest ring bearer Baby J was dressed up in his tux – he was so cute! He joined everyone and semi stayed still for majority of the pictures. He put up his devil horns inside the church area and what was interesting was after the wedding was over, our sound guy found Silento’s “Nay Nay” song and he started dancing. He did the stanky leg and then at the last he did a very inappropriate dance move which not only scared his mom but made me think in my head, “well we’re officially going to hell!”

Back to when we were getting ready, we had an hour to kill before the wedding was to start and so I hung out with my Aunt Laurie, Uncle Mike and nana for a bit. After talking to them for a bit, mom took me into the guys’ room as they had the cold room as my dad said as he was busy pulling up some of the girl’s zippers. Zippers on dresses are the worst! My mom pushed me out into the main area and I saw my grandma and grandpa. I got a good hug and compliments from both of them and then we all ran into the guys’ room and realized how much we deserved this room than the other one. Also, we had less of a mess in ours and we had more space!

And then it was time to line up.

Since I was in my push wheelchair, the best man, Allen pushed me down and then once we got to the crossroad Jayde pulled me back into my spot. Growing up, I was always curious to see who was in the audience; this was the one time that I didn’t care because I knew the focus was not on me and I was pretty content with it. When it was time for Blondie to walk, the song changed and I hadn’t even seen her yet before I started crying! I swore I saw dad cry though! She gave me her large bouquet and I had to hold both mine and hers in my between my toes. And I wanted them like this, because our original idea hurt my arms too much. I did not drop either one! They did this special thing in the middle with putting both gray and pink sand inside a frame of the two of them. I don’t know which one had it, but they mixed some of papaw’s ashes into it as well!

The ceremony was beautiful though and next we got to mingle with family and friends. I got a chance to bond with Baby J who did not understand why I wasn’t using my hands to do his spinner thingy. It was so cute! He also tried to push me around too! Thank god for Brandon’s dad though! When the guests all left, everybody sat out and chilled before going over to the reception area!

Everybody finally arrived there and situated ourselves in the small corners of the room. We all lined up once more and we were introduced and seated, but one thing I hated about it though was the fact Allen and I hadn’t even gotten halfway to the table before the DJ brought out the bride and groom. So I didn’t get to see that part, but oh well! We sat there for a bit, before everybody was allowed to get their drinks. I just wanted a sprite in the beginning, before I had any alcohol for the night, but the bartender I guess didn’t hear that I just wanted a sprite so he put a couple of shots of vodka in it and it was absolutely disgusting! However, I will say Blondie’s screwdriver drink was pretty good! I had some sips out that throughout the night.

We ate and it was time for the speeches. Allen went first and it was very sweet. Mine was a bit of a blur because I figured once Blondie started reading it out loud, she’d find the mistakes. I wrote out the speech so I imagined I’d have more than I thought. I did realize I never gave it an ending! I also couldn’t talk about Blondie much mostly because if I had, it would have been longer than a couple of minutes so I only talked about Brandon and the earliest memories I have of him, one of which was his loyalties on favorite superhero brand: Marvel or DC. I still think he fibbed and said Marvel so he wouldn’t get on my bad side, but now you know why I felt weird earlier that morning wearing my Wonder Woman shirt because that’s clearly DC–mom! And then I added a couple of notes for the both of them to remember down the line, in which Blondie proceeded to add things at the end of each part. I vaguely hitting her leg whenever she started doing this!

The last thing they did was cut the cake, thankfully Jordan took pictures and mom has video of it on her phone, although that has yet to grace Facebook. The DJ said “this can go either two ways, you can give it to each other nicely or stuff their faces” and Jayde, Jace and I were all like “she’d kill him if he did that!” and what do you know, he just shoved it in her face but it sort of missed her face (and dress) but he definitely got hit with it because she was pissed!

After the first dance, and father-daughter/son-mother dances were done, we were finally allowed to dance. Jayde was VERY happy about this! I had to be coaxed into it. I was way to insecure of my surroundings. I went to every dance in my electric wheelchair, so being in this chair freaked me out! I remember sitting at the edges of the bridal party tables in horror, enough that when Blondie came up and asked me why I wasn’t on the dance floor, I kind of burst into tears and I felt bad about that, because then I thought I would be ruining this for her. So I sat with Alli and her sister Shelby, trying to regain bits of my pride back. I felt bad for them but they were being nice and keeping me company, and then I saw Allen sitting in his chair by himself too so I decided to talk to him and we had a very nice chat.

And when our conversation had ended, I thought to myself “you know what it shouldn’t matter which wheelchair you’re in, you need a break from the bullshit you’re going through so go have some fun” all I remember next was saying “f*ck it” in my head and asking Allen to push onto the dance floor. He did and I basically danced the entire night away and it was so much fun! However, I was very glad whenever the DJ would play the slower songs because I needed a break in between or at least my butt and neck did. I saw my dad dance not only with my sister (twice) but with me (I tried to get away but he kept pushing my wheelchair back to him) and mom and it was a country song. The only country song I danced to that night! I was also pretty proud of myself of the fact that I didn’t go into a corner and cry my eyes whenever a slow song did play, that’s another bad habit I have unfortunately!

Before we decided to leave, I watched Brandon and all of the frat boys do this drinking game and I’m going by memory here called “Thunderstuck” I’m still not entirely sure what it is. Well dad almost did it but Blondie and mom talked him out of it. He was mostly around the groomsmen/frat boys the whole night so they had many drinks with him! He even hollered at Patty to give him a beer as he was doing the father/daughter dance. Blondie was livid! After this was over, mom and Blondie got started on cleaning and throwing things away, we were the first to leave in the actual party. Honestly, I could have lasted another hour, but not my body! The next day my dad and I were hurting in places that we forgot hurts a lot and again, I could have went out and danced again!

I had a lot of fun writing each post! I had never experienced any of the planning for a wedding before so I thought it was fun to blog about, I still wish I was more of a help in the process so it wouldn’t just been Blondie and Brandon dealing with everything. I wanted to experience the real chores of a maid of honor for her and I wasn’t able to do that. So I hope you all have enjoyed this posts!

The Wedding | Nails, Hair, & Dresses!

10402576_818723751505548_7506030531654377162_n

Hello!

We start our adventure on Wednesday, we were supposed to have like a spa day with all of the bridesmaids but ultimately decided against that but Blondie did came to the house so dad could do her nails. He’s been doing nails since she was competing in beauty pageants! I went first and after spending about an hour on just trying to remove the old polish on my toes, he pulled out the clippers. For anybody who doesn’t know, I’m terrified of the clippers, like I break out in sweats that’s how bad my anxiety gets whenever they’re around. Anyways, I managed to tick off my dad enough that my mom had to paint both my finger and toe nails!

I hardly ever get my finger nails done, and now I know why. I had to smell nail polish for like two days straight! Every time I tried to put on my blanket at night, the smell would brush up on me! I had a stomachache every time I got a woof of it. I had mom put another shade of pink on my fingers–apparently both Blondie and I had the same baby pink polish and we didn’t even know it! I used this because I thought it would be as close to the shade of my dress and I was right! As far as my toes, Blondie brought down a silver and hot pink and I decided to do the opposite of what she was doing or vice versa. All of my toes are silver with the “ring toe” is just pink!

Poor dad had so much trouble getting the pink on her nails though. She has quite a few dents on her nails of where she’s smashed them at work! According to him, the polish was pretty thick too so he literally spent like five minutes of one hand alone! He didn’t have an issue with the silver thank god! Afterwards, he started on my mom’s nails! My nana had this light orange polish that my aunt grabbed on accident a few days before and we thought it was as close to her dress!

Now I have to talk about hair! Blondie and I chose a similar hairstyle. We both wanted loose curls and our hair braided! Poor Dyllanne had so much trouble trying to figure out how to do the braids, because the picture I gave her didn’t necessarily gave you instructions so she had to wing it. It took her about three tries before she finally cracked the code! Somehow I only needed four bobby pins after all of that! Once at the reception though, I had Jayde put it up in a ponytail because I figure it would all fall onto my plate if I didn’t!

I know I’ve talked about the dresses before, but as I found out through my friend Ania a couple of months ago, I never showed anyone what I looked like in the pink dress as I had to try on the ones in red and blue! Blondie bought me some fabric tape because my strap and around my right side were very loose, so we had to make sure that nothing came out. One of the bridesmaid’s Alli actually had to add another strip before we went out to do pictures because the one on my right side was coming off! The length was another thing. I was worried that if we went higher on the sizes that the length would get longer as well, because I wanted a short dress. Thankfully everything went fine and I had my “short” dress even if the ends were at my ankles! I’ve shared what Blondie’s wedding dress looked like back in January of 2016, but she had quite a few alterations done to it but the structure is still the same but it fit her a lot better than that first time!

As far as dad, Brandon and the rest of the groomsmen they had a silver tux with pink bow ties and vest and wore brown shoes, which at first nobody liked until you saw all of it on together and then it made the outfit that much better! And yes, my dad wore his gray bandana to walk her down the aisle. He honestly wanted to shave everything but Blondie said no! Hell, we all said no!

The next post(s) should be about the wedding itself, so keep an eye out of it!

Wedding Playlist!

Untitled

Howdy!

Today I officially start the wedding posts!

I put a poll out on my Twitter the week before the wedding to see what everybody preferred, a regular playlist or the wedding playlist and it was pretty unanimous after like two days!

There were a couple of songs I knew were going to play as they had some significance to either Blondie or Brandon, like the song she walked down the aisle was “H.O.L.Y.” by Florida Georgia Line which was perfect, it went along being in a church and it was just slow enough. The song they used for their first dance was “Can I Have This Dance” by High School Musical 3 soundtrack. Blondie is obsessed with anything HSM and she really tried to get him to learn the dance moves but he never gave it to that! She basically sang to that whole song while they were dancing; I can’t make fun of her because so was I! The song she wanted to dance with dad was “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw and that was her decision, she cried because I saw her flap her arms to her face when it began. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the song was with Brandon and his mom, but if I remember to ask before this goes up I’ll update it!

I quickly realized throughout dancing on how little rap songs I know now! I had to ask Blondie for the songs that were on the list to be requested, because I honestly did not know what the actual song was called! I tried to compile the ones I could remember into a good sized playlist for you!

Drop It Low by Ester Dean feat. Chris Brown
With You by Chris Brown
Dance (A$$) by Big Sean
I’m The One by DJ Khaled feat Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper, Quavo
Shots by LMFAO feat. Lil Jon
Yeah by Usher feat. Ludacris and Lil Jon
Wobble by V.I.C.
Wild For The Night by A$AP Rocky
Turn Down For What by DJ Snake feat Lil Jon
Low by Flo Rida feat T-Pain
Get Low by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz
Wild Boy by MGK feat 2Chainz, Meek Mill and French Montana
Sexyback by Justin Timberlake
Same Drugs by Chance The Rapper
Congratulations by Post Malone feat. Quavo
Bend Ova by Lil Jon feat. Tyga

There were a few slower and country songs that played throughout, but I didn’t really pay any attention to them so I couldn’t tell you what I heard, because I was either busy talking or getting a drink and trying to catch my breath!

Hope you all liked this post. Next week I go into detail about our nails, hair and what we all wore (the guys are included too.)!
