We start our adventure on Wednesday, we were supposed to have like a spa day with all of the bridesmaids but ultimately decided against that but Blondie did came to the house so dad could do her nails. He’s been doing nails since she was competing in beauty pageants! I went first and after spending about an hour on just trying to remove the old polish on my toes, he pulled out the clippers. For anybody who doesn’t know, I’m terrified of the clippers, like I break out in sweats that’s how bad my anxiety gets whenever they’re around. Anyways, I managed to tick off my dad enough that my mom had to paint both my finger and toe nails!
I hardly ever get my finger nails done, and now I know why. I had to smell nail polish for like two days straight! Every time I tried to put on my blanket at night, the smell would brush up on me! I had a stomachache every time I got a woof of it. I had mom put another shade of pink on my fingers–apparently both Blondie and I had the same baby pink polish and we didn’t even know it! I used this because I thought it would be as close to the shade of my dress and I was right! As far as my toes, Blondie brought down a silver and hot pink and I decided to do the opposite of what she was doing or vice versa. All of my toes are silver with the “ring toe” is just pink!
Poor dad had so much trouble getting the pink on her nails though. She has quite a few dents on her nails of where she’s smashed them at work! According to him, the polish was pretty thick too so he literally spent like five minutes of one hand alone! He didn’t have an issue with the silver thank god! Afterwards, he started on my mom’s nails! My nana had this light orange polish that my aunt grabbed on accident a few days before and we thought it was as close to her dress!
Now I have to talk about hair! Blondie and I chose a similar hairstyle. We both wanted loose curls and our hair braided! Poor Dyllanne had so much trouble trying to figure out how to do the braids, because the picture I gave her didn’t necessarily gave you instructions so she had to wing it. It took her about three tries before she finally cracked the code! Somehow I only needed four bobby pins after all of that! Once at the reception though, I had Jayde put it up in a ponytail because I figure it would all fall onto my plate if I didn’t!
I know I’ve talked about the dresses before, but as I found out through my friend Ania a couple of months ago, I never showed anyone what I looked like in the pink dress as I had to try on the ones in red and blue! Blondie bought me some fabric tape because my strap and around my right side were very loose, so we had to make sure that nothing came out. One of the bridesmaid’s Alli actually had to add another strip before we went out to do pictures because the one on my right side was coming off! The length was another thing. I was worried that if we went higher on the sizes that the length would get longer as well, because I wanted a short dress. Thankfully everything went fine and I had my “short” dress even if the ends were at my ankles! I’ve shared what Blondie’s wedding dress looked like back in January of 2016, but she had quite a few alterations done to it but the structure is still the same but it fit her a lot better than that first time!
As far as dad, Brandon and the rest of the groomsmen they had a silver tux with pink bow ties and vest and wore brown shoes, which at first nobody liked until you saw all of it on together and then it made the outfit that much better! And yes, my dad wore his gray bandana to walk her down the aisle. He honestly wanted to shave everything but Blondie said no! Hell, we all said no!

The next post(s) should be about the wedding itself, so keep an eye out of it!
How are you all today! Hope you’ve been enjoying the day! 🙂
Today I am doing my first “Nails Of The Month” post of 2017! I had given my toes a break from the polish for almost two months. I felt they needed a break to breathe and after I started my physical therapy last month within the first week, I couldn’t take it anymore I had to put something on them!
According to my nana, the Wet n Wild polishes are VERY strong (smell wise) and I had to resort to trying out my polishes given by my Aunt Laurie and Uncle Mike, the brand is called Secret Lace and they are in these tiny bottles, you can read the post of all of them here! I thought the blue one was a cute color to use, since it is still winter where I am, despite what the weather and birds seem to think!
“Teal” by Secret Lace:
The color is more of teal because it changes to a green in different lighting. It’s naturally shine-y, considering it came with a matching blue glitter bottle! It’s actually better as a stand alone. It has its own glittery notes too. The first night I had them, I finally figured out what the actual color reminded me of, and it’s been a long time since I’ve watched The Little Mermaid movies but I kept thinking of their fins and most randomly was the children’s book Rainbow Fish, because of the glitter in the bottle!
As you can see from the pictures below, I decided to go all one color this time around. I’m pretty big at having four toes one color and one toe in a different shade, but I couldn’t make up my mind which one so I left it and I actually like it! If I were to use this one again, I’d probably pair it with a bold red, now my nana has two different shades of red. A nice rose-y red and the other is a dark red, but I’d definitely use the ruby red color for this!
So what do you think of my nails for March? Yay or nay?
This past week I finished the summer’s theme of Tune Tuesday where we travel the world discovering great and sometimes new music! Even though I’ve been finished with writing out the posts for at least a month, I still feel relieved to be done with them until next May! I’m already thinking of new artists, bands and countries to include in next year’s posts. Is that bad? I kind of figured that once I was done with those posts I wouldn’t know what to do with that day of the week. Tuesday is no longer the US new music release day anymore. I have my moments where I remember and then there are days when I don’t and I get really sad! I might be in the early process of creating a new theme for that day though! I don’t know how soon those will be up though.
This past Friday–well actually it happened Thursday night while I was in the middle of hosting the chat on Twitter. My Spotify decided to shut down completely. It does that every once in a while. It just needs to reinstall and all that. Well, when I went to do it on Friday it kept giving me a pop up… so at the moment I don’t have my trustee sidekick, if I do any music reviews I’ll be getting them from both the radio and YouTube only! My ways of listening to music is decreasing and quite frankly I’m a little worried! I’m choosing to see past this because I know I have three other ways to hear music so I just need to hope that they don’t let me down. Besides this, I’ve been watching movies like crazy! I can’t tell you what I’ve been watching although if you’re following me on Twitter you probably know about one or two of them. In a couple of weeks, my “Seen & Heard” post of the month will be up and you’ll soon figure them out!
This past week has been a very weird one! My sister and her boyfriend went to see Taylor Swift on Wednesday up in Indy. They stayed up there for two days but like a day or so before they left, Batman has been a bit sickly. He’s been sneezing and blowing his nose, I actually feel bad for him! And then Blondie started feeling about the same, she literally started sniffling the day before they left.
Oh I have to tell a funny story! Blondie was in the middle of painting her nails in the living room and I guess she dropped or it fell out of her hand but red nail polish spilled onto the carpet. Mom and Blondie tried EVERYTHING to get it out. Our dad is like a hound, he can sniff out and see things that nobody else can see. So she figured she’d be dead meat so she asked me if I could go in there and find the dot. At first i couldn’t, but as came into the room more the light pink dot became more noticeable. What got my mom and I was the fact that after this all happened. Not only did she rat her ass out but she also painted her nails the same color three times! She wouldn’t let me do them either. I was pretty bummed about that. I sat on my floor doing a couple fuzzy posters and separating the bunch I got recently so my nana could have some too! You’ll hear about that soon! They still went to the concert and I guess had fun! The Band Perry was the special guest. Totally not what she hoped for, she thought it would be Justin Bieber, even I knew that wasn’t going to happen!
I’m sorry i don’t have much to talk about right now. I’ve been fairly lazy, watching movies and thinking about things (again!) that I’ve been kind of neglecting my blog. I have like three posts that need to be finished, fixed, and pictures to be uploaded before they can be published but I literally have no motivation whatsoever! We’ll see what happens this week!
I have been a very fast week. Usually, when you have something going on later in the week it goes pretty slow. This week it’s been going so fast but surprisingly I’ve kept up what day it was. You already know what I did on Thursday but it was like the best kept secret. I only told like four people who I was getting my hair dyed on Thursday, only FOUR people! Considering I always update my Facebook and Twitter profiles, I still kept it amongst myself and a few friends. I only told the ones because I knew they’d be just as excited as I was throughout the entire week. By the time the picture of my hair was put on Facebook that afternoon, everybody had heard because my mom went and told everybody on hers but everybody else on my stuff were still in the dark. A LOT of people love the fact that I got it done. We literally hit the 60+ mark on just the “likes” alone. One of the things that surprised my mom and I the most, was the little thing we did before we left for my nana’s.
We’ve been using the commode for a good seven or eight months now, still only my mom and I using it, but the other two are just stubborn. Well, she didn’t want to put me in my bed, use the commode and then put me in the wheelchair, because that would actually require some lifting. So when I pulled up into my room, she put the commode next to it and I was puzzled, because I didn’t know how we were going to do this because doing any sort of us usually requires two people. We went from chair to the seat, fine and dandy, but we totally forgot about a very important detail, my pants. So she came up with lifting me by my arms and having me lean up against her for a couple of seconds so she could fix them that way. She stood me up like our normal way but instead of just lifting me, I put all of my weight on my feet and stood myself up. That has NEVER happened before and since we were surprised that I even did it, she wasn’t ready for me yet and we had to do it again. We even did it yesterday at my nana’s and I still did a pretty good at it, if only I can extend my toes out where they won’t hurt like hell when I put all that pressure on them.
Yesterday, my mom had to do my nana’s running and do some other stuff but around like one or two in the afternoon, I spent my time at my nana’s wisely. Well, between the eating, breaking up boxes, and getting my toes nails done. Funny thing is, I know I’ll probably remove the polish sometime next week so Katie can redo them. Not saying my nana did a sucky job on them. Katie likes doing my nails too so I’m going over to my nana’s on Thursday and I’ll have her remove the polish then. Anyways, my uncle texts me and the text I get had a bunch of squares on it. I have a flip phone so these little emojis you people seem to be obsessed with, don’t really work on mine. He sent me like four or five different texts and only two of those! He told me that they were in town and not to tell my grandparents they were heading to the house. As much as I love being the one getting surprised too, keeping a secret from both of them is pretty fun too. The only thing I would have done differently was not having three people texting me at the same time. By ten minutes of getting two texts at the same back and forth from each other, was starting to make my head spin. I thought it was much later in the day than it was, so when Blondie showed up she just got off work and she was there to help with the surprise. There’s nothing like a black semi with no trailer pulling up along side the sidewalk and the both of us just get all excited. When Blondie saw my Uncle David start walking up the sidewalk, she goes “oh well, surprise” and then he came in and it was the best thing ever, because she looked at us like “YOU KNEW!” and that always makes it fun!
They got to see my hair and all of us got hang out together, it’s been a while since we’ve actually done that. Even Blondie got to stay and talk, she brought over a bunch of clothes with her because of the fact after that night’s work she was going to go hang out with her friends, so we had her try on a couple of outfits. I really liked this white jumper she’s got now. She was concerned with what to wear but when I woke up this morning, I found that she didn’t even change out of the shirt she wore over at my nana’s. So much for those other outfits! Last night, before my mom went to sleep I decided to put some more music on iPod. I still have several CDs in that my big case that are not in our iTunes yet, so I put like 8 CDs on there last night and I still had like 5 more so when my mom went to turn off my light, I was still doing them and I didn’t have enough light to see the slots to put them through inside so I had her put the CDs on my table and my case back in the corner. I was very proud of myself after I got up a couple of hours ago, I got back to business put those others on my iPod. Now I just have to remember to put them back in the case before I lose them or break them.
If you look closely, you can see I ran out of room and couldn’t put the “s” at the end of “munchkins” lol
I am sitting on my bed, listening to music through my laptop and trying to figure out the words on how to blog about two days of getting away from not your hometown, but also your family. I feel blessed to have people who don’t mind watching over somebody with a disability, like me. My mom has a friend at her work, and they’ve been friends since she started there. I don’t know what started the friendship but it’s been interesting. I have been around her a few times before I was around her husband and kids. When she became pregnant with her youngest, my mom and I were invited to the baby shower. I hadn’t been to one in a couple of years and it was fun! When the baby arrived, we went out to visit them and that was the first time I met her husband. They came out to my sister’s graduation party and brought the older kids with them. That was the first time I was around them and that was also the first time I had been around kids in a few years. Earlier this year, they’ve been coming over to the house and I’ve even stayed at theirs for a couple of years. I had always enjoyed being around them because I was treated like a normal person, even with kids under the age of ten that’s interesting!
You’ve heard me talk about how I really hate getting told news that I’m going somewhere, because nine times out of ten it never happens. I’ve just learned to accept that part of life. So after that first time I went over to their house I didn’t think it would actually happen again. Nothing against them or my parents, but life has its way of playing tricks on me. I spent a good fourteen hours there at their house. This time the kids knew how I was going to treat them and I thought I wouldn’t be so naïve. Wishful thinking. My parents were supposed to go to this motorcycle thing over the weekend but my dad has been feeling a little under the weather this past week, so I thought that not only their plans would be smashed but so would mine. Even though I told my mom that I didn’t care if they didn’t go, I was still going there anyways. Which is what happened! I have spent the last few weeks figuring out what I wanted to take with me because I was told that I was allowed to bring whatever I wanted. I wanted to little arts and crafts projects with the kids. They were small enough to be interested in anything, but smart enough to use markers. Katie, I knew would love the projects but I was stumped with little Aiden though.
I was the older sister to a younger sister. I never had brothers, even though back in school I had considered a few of my guy friends “brothers” because that’s how I expected brothers to act around me. They would tease and protect me. Aiden is still pretty young, but he still relies on his older sister to comfort him (even if she got him in trouble!) so I tried to figure out things that he could do too! That’s why I thought I’d bring this small boxes along. My papaw kind of collects these old Veleeta boxes and I knew I’d have enough in case they had one of their neighbor friends over so they could join us too! Well, mom only brought two and thankfully I didn’t need anymore but he only decorated his box with the small amount of stickers he liked. I had plans on getting him some boy-ish stickers earlier this week but I totally forgot about it and when he was in the middle of looking at the markers, he had said that I didn’t have any boy stickers. My heart broke in heart. I felt bad for him but next time I’ll have him in mind and I’ll figure out something out that both will enjoy. Katie never really complained about the boxes or anything. She was just happy that I brought different colors of nail polishes with me.
The last time I was over there. Katie REALLY wanted her nails painted. So I told her mom that I’d do them if she wanted me to, well she let me and I practically made a mess on both of her hands getting the polish on the nails. Thank god for Q-Tips! That same day she asked me if she could do my nails and I had told her that maybe later on in the day she could, but then my visit was cut short and again I felt awful! So once as my mom told me about this visit I had told myself that I needed a new coat of paint on my toes. She had tried to paint her nails herself Friday afternoon, but she couldn’t figure out what color she wanted. So she kept wiping it off every time she went to dap it on her nails. She finally let me do her nails and we used a purple (one coat) and a baby blue glitter polish (three coats) and she was happy! However, she wasn’t going to be happy if I left that house without any paint on my toes. I chose a neon orange (two coats) and the baby blue glitter polish (two coats) too. To watch her lean down to see every corner of my toes to make sure she didn’t make a mess on the outside of my feet was too adorable! Everybody seems to love them and so do I!
Something I wanted to do was split my time with each kid. Kristen and Casey explained to the kids that I was an adult and that were to listen to what I said. This was something I had wished I was still a kid that way I wouldn’t feel so bad for yelling at each one whenever they did something bad. I’m not good at being the enforcer. Friday night the kids wanted to be near me, which I was fine with, but I could see how they were smothering me at times. I’m used to being by myself on a couch and having two little kids right by me was new to me, but cute too! Maci being a baby still, I was fine with her being close to me. The fact that she walked over my body like she did with her older siblings was good with me. In a way in her eyes, I was just another person. She was pretty fascinated with my arms and legs though. The kid’s got one heck of a grip on her, she kept wanting to pinch my skin and toes. Perfect payback from everybody that I have squeezed their fingers to the point that they turn white. I enjoyed making faces at her to make her laugh and smile. She’s in her walking stage–she literally skipped crawling completely and went into walking in two weeks–she used my feet and side of my wheelchair to help her stand up. She was a happy baby.
After the first time of going over to their house, we took my powered wheelchair. My mom has went over to their house before that visit and she told me that they have one huge step before getting to the house. So when we took my chair, it took three people just to it inside and out. To make things a little easier, my mom decided the first time I try out my new push wheelchair we solely got for when I went over to my nana’s, we took that over. Of course my dad had to put it together Friday morning before we went over there and I’m happy to say that not only is it comfortable (arm rest is awesome!) it’s REALLY light too! It only took two people to lift it in and out. I am just learning how to navigate around in it because since its so new it’s got this feeling that if I make one sudden move or drop that the seat could cave in and my butt could just fall right down onto the floor! That would not be pretty! I’ve also never moved myself around in a push wheelchair with hardwood floors either, which is what they’re entire house had and that was pretty tricky especially since I kept freaking out Kristen every time I moved in it.
I think the little getaway was a success, some minor things that could’ve been different, but can’t take them back now. All I can do is learn for the next visit. Hopefully, we’ll all be good and steady by then. I hope you are enjoying your weekend if you’re at home or away. Just make it a good one!
