New Music Tuesday.

Well unless you’ve been living under a rock for a while, you should know the band Green Day first out of three albums was released today. It’s called UNO. I just got done listening to some of their songs. I have been jumping back and forth to different bands. I just posted this on my Twitter, but I’m going to say it here too. I like Green Day as a band. I think their style and sound is freaking awesome. There’s just one little problem. They have never been at my Top 10 best bands list. I love a bunch of their songs and they have never managed to make it on my list. But they’re not the only band. Avenged Sevenfold is another band that has never been a Top 10 band for me either. To me, that’s very strange considering my other favorites.

I’ve been listening to Green Day, Within Temptation, and now Thousand Foot Krutch. I know a few of their songs. Thanks to my sister again, They were in the bunch she was into in 2009, along with Skillet. I am going through their new album. I have heard of at least of their songs, from that album. I just began “I Get Wicked” and so far I am really liking them a lot more than I started out. An ad for No Doubt’s new album just played on Spotify and now I’m tempted to listen to that album too. Sounds like a good idea!

Yesterday, all I did that morning on Twitter was post what I was listening at that moment. I told everybody I should probably do a post of all of the songs I listen to on my blog instead of on Twitter. I’m sure everybody was getting annoyed with my “now playing” this or that. I listened to a lot of different songs yesterday morning that no wonder I was having a good day. It was a long, but pretty good day for me. So here the list of songs I listened to yesterday.

  1. Burn – Papa Roach
  2. Kyoto – Skrillex feat. Sirah
  3. So Sick – Ne-Yo
  4. Bones – Young Guns
  5. Hero – Skillet
  6. Hard To See – Five Finger Death Punch
  7. Comeback – Redlight King
  8. Rise Above This – Seether
  9. Click Click Boom – Saliva
  10. Soldiers – Drowning Pool
  11. Feed The Machine – RED
  12. One More Night – Maroon 5
  13. I Won’t Give Up – Jason Mraz
  14. War of Change – Thousand Foot Krutch
  15. Sandpaper – Fozzy feat. M. Shadows

  1. You know, I agree about Green Day. They’re very…hit and miss with me. The songs from them I like I absolutely LOVE and can listen to them over and over…but that’s just a handful, as a whole I’m just not into them. I know we talked about this on Twitter already, but I’ll say it again here, I think it’s great to listen to a variety of music and it’s fun to talk with others about different bands/generas that they might not be into or know about šŸ™‚ so I say bravo! for word of mouth šŸ™‚ spread the love.

    p.s. Woot for TFK!

  2. Hahahahaha! Yeah, thats exactly how I am with Green Day. I love their singles but listening to a whole album is a bit difficult. I still have this problem with my old Backstreet Boys CDs. I can’t listen to them as a whole like I wish I could. I can listen to a whole album if they’re kind of “new.” Take TFK for example, since I have only listened to three songs I can listen to a full album because I’m not a big fan of them, but I haven’t heard much from them. Does that make sense?

    1. Yea, that makes sense šŸ™‚ I’m really bad about buying an album and listening to the songs I already know (like radio hits and such) and then not listening to the rest of the album…til like months later lol I’m super bad about that. Dig into more TFK, they are totally worth it and check out FM Static as well, that’s the singer from TFK and the drummer from TFK’s side project. It’s ..more poppy, very fun and sing-along kind of songs. Adore it.

  3. I try to listen to the full album or at least waiting to buy the first single until the album has been released that why I don’t have songs doubled. I somehow waited until LT was released to get BIT on my iPod. I was pretty proud of myself. šŸ™‚ I will definitely look into them.

  4. Hey Meg,

i can see what you mean about green day,i completely agree with both you and writingscarz. They are a good band, but with each album they do, it usually tends to get a bit repetitive. American Idiot, i do find as an exception, but other than the singles from the 90s and a couple of modern day ones, once you’ve heard those singles, you have a pretty good idea about what the album will sound like.

That being said these new 3 albums sound like they will have some curve-balls, and that personally what im looking forward to. I’ve only just recently started my own blog where i comment about music, do reviews etc, and im loving your site, that list has some of my fav bands on it, Papa Roachs new album? any thoughts?

    1. Oh awesome! I do reviews too! Not all the time, but I try to post some up every once in a while. And thanks, I have a “Music” tab at the top, you can read what other bands/genres of music I like and I post different music related things on there as well. I can’t wait to hear Papa Roach’s new album. I am already playing “Still Swingin” like crazy. Love it! And I’ve never been a BIG fan of them either. Just luck sometimes. šŸ™‚
