6 Halloween Movies For Adults

comics3

Howdy!

We are on our last Halloween-y movie post! If you have missed the others, here are the Kid and Teen lists if you have time afterwards. This is directed to all of the adults out there as these films can have a lot of blood and gore, plus naked people throughout different scenes!

This was fairly easy compared to the others. I actually came up with this miniseries while I was trying to watch a movie featured below. That’s when I figured this would be a ghoulish (cool) idea to do! I tried to give you a variety, so you’re not going to get bored with each one, and honestly I was prepared to add more, but I decided I should keep the rest back in case I want to do this again for next year, and honestly I wanted to keep the amount the same for all three posts. 😉

Queen Of The Damned (2002)

I feel like this is the second most recent watched movie on this list. I finally had the guts to watch this on HBO last summer. I had tried to watch it prior but certain scenes were cut out of the original and of course, the commercials are really annoying so when this appeared on our guide, I was really excited! I didn’t really know what to expect because it was such an older movie and I’m not familiar with Anne Rice either, so watching this was interesting and better then Interview With A Vampire.

One thing I didn’t like about it, was the fact that Stuart Townsend isn’t the one singing at all throughout the movie. It is actually Jonathan Davis of Korn! I was shocked but I knew I recognized that voice when it first started. I definitely want to learn more about Maharet, because I thought this character was so interesting, but let’s be honest so was Akasha too! They’re the only reasons why I’d totally read the books!

Underworld: Evolution (2006)

Out of the five movies, this was the one that I hated, but mostly for good reasons when it comes to horror films in the first place. When I saw this for the first time, I remember being on edge the whole time because I knew about the blood and violence, but there were other things featured in this movie that the others didn’t have at all, like an actual flying vampire with wings! It was totally unexpected and scared the living shit out of me before it was all over, thus landing on this list!

The entire franchise is one of my favorites, they are exciting and very intense! If I need that fantasy driven action packed kind of movie, this is a go-to selection. I literally devoted myself for a whole year to watching all of the movies to get ready for the fourth film. I wasn’t able to do the same when Blood Wars was first on Starz, and I’m still not allowed to binge the whole thing because we’re missing Awakening on our DVR.

Jennifer’s Body (2009)

This is my recent watched movie on this list. A part of me sort of feels embarrassed by it, because it was really a stupid film, but I do think it was pretty gruesome too! I knew I had the right to be afraid on Megan Fox years ago. She plays a clever succubus, which isn’t a vampire, more like a demon that likes human flesh compared to blood. The worst scene for me was when Jennifer basically throws up that black mess onto Needy’s kitchen floor. I had an upset stomach afterwards.

Although it was a comedy-thriller, I can’t watch it again for the world. I am glad I can cross it off my list, but nope, you can’t pay me to watch it for a second time. If you haven’t seen it and like this sort of thing, you might have a different opinion about it. Good luck!

Hansel & Gretal: Witch Hunters (2013)

So, okay I need to admit this right now. I only wanted to watch this because Famke Janssen was in it. I wish I could go back and tell myself that I would sort of regret that decision to actually watch it. Don’t get me wrong, the movie itself was amazing but I was not ready for what it had in store for its viewers. However, I feel like that it was a good starter to the one below it.

I felt that played well with the original tale of Hansel and Gretal because both Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton have innocent looking faces, they’re just witch hunters! The witches in this film were freaky as hell, I remember I had to take a lot of breaks while watching it because sometimes it got to be too much for me to handle at once. It was also one of those films where it was good enough to never need a sequel after it, you know?

The Last Witch Hunter (2015)

This was another great movie! Although I made the mistake of starting it right before I ate supper, so when the beginning took place with that witch came out of the fire, it really surprised me and I had to wait until the next morning to actually finish the rest of it. I was really into it, but I really liked how clean and realistic it looked during certain scenes.

I would never think that Vin Diesel and Rose Leslie would bring great chemistry but they did! I was 100% behind it. What puzzles me is that not very many people liked it when it came out. I think it might’ve been the fact that Vin Diesel was the witch hunter that threw everyone for a loop, because he already looks like he could be one, so maybe they were hoping for somebody else that could shine out of other roles. I thought this was just different as far as picture and story, and I really hope HBO goes back to playing it again.

Victor Frankenstein (2015)

When I was a Junior in high school, I took a class called Novels for one semester and I loved it! The first book we read was Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” and I was really excited about it because I knew it was a classic and I thought it set the tone for what we could expect for the semester, because the rest were not wimpy novels at all and that was only one of the many reasons why I grew to love that class a lot! While I knew the whole story of the monster and its creator Victor Frankenstein, I think this was the closest to the origin story as you can get with a movie!

I remember while I watched it, I was seeing different chapters of the story I read probably six years before. They were suddenly flooding in my head at a fast pace and I was literally turning into a critic as it continued on, but instead of hating it I actually loved it because I saw a visual of a decent Victor on the screen, James McAvoy was a firm believer that he could basically defy God and everybody else to create a human being, while having an reluctant assistant in Igor (played by Daniel Radcliffe) who did what he was told or else he’d face whatever consequence Victor would do to him. I have to say that Igor wasn’t mentioned in the book at all, but I actually liked him in this story though!

I feel like I should mention that all but one of these movies were highly recommended by my dad at some point or another, because he is like me in a way, he’d rather watch a fantasy/horror inspired movie because let’s be honest, the special effects are pretty great! He does have a far larger collection of scary movies than me, but we do share quite a bit and we tend to ask what the other person thinks of it after we’ve finished it. The only one he hasn’t seen is of course, Jennifer’s Body because he knows better than me apparently!

I hope you all have enjoyed this series, if you liked it enough for me to do something like it again for next Halloween, let me know in the comments, okay?

What The Vampire Diaries Taught Me

tvd

Howdy!

It’s been a whole year since the final season of The Vampire Diaries aired on The CW. I haven’t accepted it fully, mostly because we still have The Originals for the time being, and as it was just announced a last month that Hope Mikealson will get her own show called Legacies with Matt Davis, as he was on the banner with the older “Hope” played by Danielle Rose Russell! So that’s all exciting that we’re going to get another TVD spin-off soon!

Today’s post was inspired by a meme I saw on Pinterest, literally stating “what TVD taught me” with what the general fan base could agree with, so I wanted to play off of that idea and come up with my own. If you loved the shows, because even though I’ve only put “TVD” on the title/banner above, we do have to include TO in there too!

giphy2

6. ) You may or may not have a doppelganger out there!

Before this show, I never really heard of the word “doppelganger” and now that’s it’s over, I actually hear and see it frequently online and other shows! It’s actually started a weird obsession that I now have, where I’ve gone on different sites to see exact replicas of people, mostly celebrities throughout history! It’s actually fun but also strange too, but they are so dead on with facial expressions and alignments too.

One of my favorite seasons of TVD was season two, we got to dive into the history of Katherine Pierce and why she and Elena look so alike, and how the both of them have the Salvatore brothers under their spells. No pun intended. I also feel after this happened, that should have prepared us for season four and eventually meeting “Tatia” in an episode of TO! We have officially met all four doppelgangers of “Amara” and then on top of that, we met “Silas” who just so happened to be Stefan’s doppelganger and we met other smaller versions of his distant relatives too. It was cool.

5. ) Nobody ever dies.

I know a lot of people will think this probably should be #1 but I had others that I felt as though they needed to be higher on the list.

Nobody ever dies on either show, and if they have died, their character has been brought back in some form, like in a dream or flashback. It’s always these two moments though that can create the most tears though! Only a couple of people have actually came back in living form, which had better consequences for them then the first time around! My favorites were: Grams, Alaric, Lexi, Katherine, and Liz of course! And we have to admit, nobody can say they are the top of this phrase, but Mama Salvatore! She was the best surprise of them all, even if her introduction scared the living shit out of me!

giphy3

4. )  It’s hard to resist.

One thing that I’m really missing on my TV screen are the scenes with Mr. Tyler Lockwood. I will admit, I hated that character during the first season, but once Uncle Mason showed up and Tyler broke his werewolf curse, I started crushing on him hardcore. His death about killed me!

We’re just going to continue confessing up some things on this post. Matt Donavon! Oh. My. God. Again, this was another character that I never meshed well in the beginning, actually if I’m being honest, there’s been many times where he aggravated me, but who can deny his baby blue eyes! Everybody had a thing for Damon, which yes, I did too, but to me Matty is the true blue eyed boy that all of the girls loved!

And we can’t forget about the ladies. Hell, I’d be pissed off at myself for not saying anything about the women of both TVD and TO. So let’s discuss Anna first, yes, I thought she was very pretty. I could understand why Jeremy had the hots for her in season one and two. Hayley, was another favorite, I mentioned her on my top hottest vampire diaries and originals characters post, and I still love her to pieces! Her character just continued to get better and better!

giphy4

3. )  You need a good bourbon on hand for any occasion!

There are scenes, especially in the early seasons where you could literally play a drinking game of whenever Damon (or Stefan) grabbed a bottle and a glass, everytime he took a sip, you would too! Thankfully, I wasn’t 21 during that time frame so I never could join in with some crazy, hardcore fans on that little adventure! My emotions were already messed up as it is, I did not need alcohol to cope, I’d prefer ice cream to be quite honest with you!

giphy5

2. ) It doesn’t matter if it’s one witch or a dozen, don’t mess with them!

I think if there’s one thing we’ve learned from both shows, is that do NOT mess a witch. I think between the Gemini coven during season five and the addition of the dead New Orleans witches were probably the strongest group of characters. I’ve always loved Bonnie. I think she’s one of the most underrated people on the series, but the storylines of where these two covens belong in their respected shows was very neat.

I think being able to put Kai into another world and then as Kai went on to kill Jo, her family went on to basically give their lives to safe the lasting reminder of their coven. So they transferred the twins into the only living (or in this case, un-living) thing they could, Miss Caroline Forbes. Even if that whole plot was designed to hide Candice King’s real life pregnancy, it was still unbelievable considering what we just watched beforehand; out of all that bad was this miracle.

And then you have the influence of the NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana) witches after they’re dead and gone, you knew that once they brought back both Celeste DuBois (season 1) and Esther (season 2) you know they had a bigger story to the mix and when Davina destroyed the control that the Ancestors had over not only her, as they didn’t like her one bit, but the other witches.

giphy6

1. ) Don’t break a brother’s heart.

This kind of goes with the doppelganger point I made earlier. Before Elijah and Niklaus showed up in Mystic Falls during season three, we thought the only sob story was the fact that Katherine used both Stefan and Damon’s affections against them. I know Damon gave Stefan a lot of shit for being the reason he killed/fed on his first victim, thus turning him into a vampire afterwards.

When the whole story of why Katherine became a vampire in the first place, everything started to make sense. She was also flirting her ass off to the Mikaelson brothers as well! I find it hilarious that one of those brothers wasn’t Kol. I feel like he would have been a better candidate since he was pure evil, I just want to clarify this suggestion is prior to meeting Davina! Anyways, I think it’s fair to say that Klaus never really fell in love with Katherine, he just wanted to use her as part of breaking the Sun and Moon curse, but we can say he dived all in as much as Damon did. He loved Katherine, he would do anything for her, obviously, but I don’t think there was anything else to expect out of Damon then destruction after she confessed that she never loved him.

After I finished writing and scheduling this, I accidentally went through my other vampire related blog posts I’ve done, and it’s shocking how many of these I’ve done since the beginning of The Vampire Diaries in general! I really do miss the show, but I have the first two seasons on DVD and I know both series are on Netflix so if I ever decide to create it as “Vampire Day” I can, well.. when it decides to work again!

What are some things you learned on both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals? What do you miss the most about now that TVD is over? Who were your favorite characters too?

8 Best Moments On The Vampire Diaries!

WARNING:
If you haven’t made it past season three or four of the Vampire Diaries, I urge you NOT to read this post! It contains a lot of spoilers!

Tonight is the night we’ve been dreading since the day this show premiered on The CW back in 2009. Fans have created friendships with one another and fought over who should be who, will be an everlasting problem. We all had our favorites live and die, and then die again. By the second time, you knew they were definitely “killed” off the show completely. However, when several of our most beloved characters would make their appearance here and there we’d have all sorts of emotions running through our bodies.

The Vampire Diaries will forever be a favorite of mine. I still can’t believe that after watching the very first episode on September 10, that I would still be so addicted! At that time, I wasn’t into the dark and blood-y types of shows. I tend to give it a lot of credit over the years because now I can actually watch gory stuff like the Underworld series, but I also watched the first season of Hannibal on ABC a few years ago. I would have never watched these types of shows without the help of The Vampire Diaries.

I decided that since our journey was ending tonight that I would do my last post about the show in general. A previous post I had published in 2015 called 11 Hottest Characters On Vampire Diaries and The Originals has became a very popular post among fans and I figured I would try to make all the fans happy once again by talking about some of our favorite moments of the last eight seasons. They might be good memories and there will a few that I remember happening that were not so happy and we cried until our eyes were red and burning like hell! So let’s start this off where we first met our favorite people in Mystic Falls, Virginia!

stef2

S1: They Meet:

Elena and Jeremy lost their parents and were living with Aunt Jenna. Anybody crying at the thought of Aunt Jenna? Jeremy was a troubled kid in the beginning. He was a boy trying to find ways to numb the pain. He couldn’t write out his feelings in a diary like Elena. He was infatuated with Vicki Donovan, who was the older sister of Matt Donovan, or “Matty Blue Eyes” as we fans have grown to call him over the years. He previously dated Elena before the accident.Vicki was a flirty, troubled girl herself, but she already had a boyfriend: quarterback Tyler Lockwood.

Elena was also friends with newly witch Bonnie Bennett and Sheriff Liz Forbes’ daughter Caroline. The snobby, blonde that almost everybody loved to hate (including me) but there was a new student at school: Stefan Salvatore.

Stefan was a vampire that was turned in 1864, he wanted to know the girl who liked to hang out in cemeteries. He was not into human blood, he fed on little critters in the woods and lived in the old Salvatore manor with his only living relative still located in Mystic Falls. However, we do see him change into the “Ripper” towards the end of the season at the episode of the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. Stefan was supposed to walk and dance with Elena, but he was having issues with controlling his thirst so his “evil” and sexy brother, Damon filled in, which made all of the Delena fans happy. I’m still reeling from this one!

In a way, I should have started this with the scene where Bonnie shows Elena that she’s a witch and makes the feathers of the pillow float up in the air, but let’s face it, Stefan going into the school and meeting Elena Gilbert for the first time is probably the main reason why many of us started watching it in the first place! These main characters become part of our weekly habit. Every Thursday, we watched their lives unfold and we fell in love with them, one by one. Even in death, our love for the characters was as strong as the next. It will never die.

S2: We Finally Meet Katherine Pierce and Caroline Turns Into A Vampire

I have to say, season two was a very chaotic season. There is a lot of information that happens in this one, it was also very, very bloody compared to the first I think!

During the first episode, we realize that “Elena” isn’t exactly herself. She and Uncle John are talking amongst themselves and then “Elena” cuts off John’s fingers with the kitchen knife. Later we realize that this is Katherine and she runs away from the Gilbert household, where she finds Miss Caroline Forbes in a hospital bed. She was fed vampire blood just before and Katherine decides it’s time for some fun. So she kills Caroline, thus becoming a vampire looking to make Damon’s life a living hell after compelling her throughout the first season.

However, while trying to hide from the boys, she gets captured and is put into a crypt by Damon, but curious Elena, wanting to know more about why she looks so much like Katherine. She meets and coaxes her with plastic cups of blood to tell the story of her life as both a human and how she became a vampire. This episode is my favorite and it is called “Katerina” which is Katherine’s real name: Katerina Petrova

I had been looking forward to Miss Katherine Pierce since Stefan took out that picture of her in the attic in season one. I loved the fact that she wanted to reek havoc on the citizens of Mystic Falls, plus the two boys she managed to not only seduce but also turn into vampires so many years ago.

Let’s talk about these werewolves though. They were sort of a late addition. We meet Tyler Lockwood’s young uncle Mason at his father’s funeral. You didn’t think Ian’s blue eyes had competition until this dude walked into the Lockwood manor! Anyways, he turned out to be Katherine’s henchman and like so many others, when Damon found out his true purpose for coming into town, he got drunk, tied him up with wolfsbane soaked rope and ripped out his heart when they wouldn’t cooperate. Oh, and then Tyler, under the guidance of Katherine’s compulsion, killed a fellow schoolmate which triggered his family werewolf curse and during the full moons, he would shed his clothes and break all of his bones to become a scary ass wolf!

In one such episode, Caroline and Tyler hide out in Uncle Mason’s werewolf dungeon, stocked full of chains to use to keep him down inside, instead of wrecking havoc on his friends and newly vampire girlfriend, Caroline. Yes, for Forwood! However, instead of running when the full moon was at its peak, she stayed and watched him transform… I was eating supper during this episode. I had a full plate and could only eat a fraction of it because I was so glued to my TV. I was also bawling my eyes out and didn’t want to get choked, because that would have been an interesting tale to explain to my parents. After that episode, my mom made it a rule that I would eat supper before TVD came on!

S3: We Discover The Origins Of The Mikaelson Family!

So this season is generally about the hybrid (werewolf/vampire) Klaus wanting to create more hybrids, because he thinks the curse has been broken and the fact that he has Elena’s blood. Well, turns out the whole thing was a damn hoax made up by his own mother!

We learned a lot about the Mikaelson clan though. Why Klaus and Elijah were running from their father Mikael. In my favorite episode of this season, “Ordinary People” tells the story of the Original vampire family. Mikael was a viking, he and his wife Esther, who was the “Original” witch, and their children Finn, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol where they were forced to become vampires in an act to claim territory of the land over the werewolves nearby. However, Esther had a secret, their son Niklaus was not Mikael’s but a werewolf that Esther ended sleeping with one night. In order to keep his werewolf tendencies at hand, she created a “curse” to stop him from changing during the full moon. She still managed to make all of her children vampires, but he became the first hybrid of his kind.

S4: Elena Turns Into A Vampire

I think the big difference between both The Vampire Diaries and Twilight series was the fact that Elena did NOT want to become a vampire by Stefan or anybody else and yet, she did and I remember a lot of people were very torn with this direction of the character. The biggest reason was the fact that we knew from past experiences with Caroline and Stefan being vampires that it’s not easy to keep yourself in check.

As a vampire, it was better to have your humanity turned off and since Katherine Pierce was still around, seeing Elena Gilbert as “evil” was a totally new thing to the fans. I don’t remember how I felt about it, I think I was curious on how she would deal with it all. However, she breaking up with Stefan in this season about killed me.

S5: We Meet Katherine’s Daughter Nadia

One of the first new faces we meet in the first episode is while Rebekah and Matt are away, she apparently had “compelled” another girl to join them in bed. This woman would sort of stay with us throughout the season, as we find out about the future of Katherine’s child before she had turned into a vampire. The child was a daughter and her name is Nadia, she is also a traveler, another witch-y/supernatural thing that Katherine’s family was originally apart of before she was kicked out of the family by her father. Klaus had killed her entire family as part of the sacrifice of turning into a vampire.

After taking the cure, (forcefully) by Elena, after she injected into her bloodstream trying to get it from her. She tries to redo it, by turning again but it doesn’t work. All it does is help reverse the age processes and she realizes she is dying, but in an act to win back an inch of a relationship with her birth mother, Nadia tries to talk her into becoming a traveler and put her spirit into somebody’s body, but she doesn’t want to. So as she is “dying” at the Salvatore house, she tries to make amends, starting with the Salvatore brothers. As this goes on Matt, Tyler and Jeremy create a drinking game, and since Bonnie is the anchor to the other side, she and Jeremy (who started seeing ghosts during the end of season two!) begin to see some old faces like Vicki and Alaric. And everytime I watch this scene, I can’t stop the tears. I always cry because it was such a bittersweet moment to see our favorites again…

Ultimately Katherine does use Elena as a passenger, after Elena tries to forgive her, but three episodes later, she dies for real. I cried at this scene too, I’m not going to lie! Despite the fact that getting through season five was a total bitch, it ended pretty good!

1de80460-52ba-0132-420b-0ebc4eccb42f

S6: Bamon Die and Gemini Coven

Technically, Bamon (Bonnie and Damon) die at the end of season five after the other side officially collapses, as do most of our favorites like Lexi, Vicki, but Alaric is one that makes it back to the living! Damon and Bonnie unfortunately do not and instead of going to heaven or hell (that comes later) they are sent to a mysterious place. It’s still Mystic Falls, in all its glory but the only people who are there are them. The year is 1994 and Bamon like to make pancakes together!

tumblr_nwnprdkmbc1rgpgw0o1_540

S7: Mother Salvatore and Her Family Of Heretics

This was the season I had been looking forward to since the first season! Of course, we find out about the truth of Lily Salvatore during the end of season six, when Damon brings her back from the prison world to help Stefan turn his humanity back on, but even though she does help with this task, she wants Bonnie’s help to bring back her family of fellow heretics, as they were left behind and are more family to her since she became a vampire. Yeah! Freaked out a lot of us too!

So the new season starts off with a big fire as Valerie gets run over by a truck and she and fellow heretics Nora and Mary Louise decide to have a little fun in the town of Mystic Falls. While the police academy has their ceremony, the girls set the entire thing on fire. I thought this scene could rival with what Elena did to the Gilbert house, but that’s my personal opinion.

S8: See You In Hell

As much as I thought both season three and seven were my favorites, I think this one is a close third, but I think I might be a little bias. I found it interesting that since we started the show about Stefan’s history that we would find out how his story ends – that is if it actually does end with his death, considering how this season has went, he’s managed to cheat death a total of three times!

I know there are other characters but if it wasn’t Stefan coming back to Mystic Falls in the beginning, we wouldn’t know anything about Elena Gilbert, because Damon would be too scared to come around her like that, I mean, remember the first time they met? He compelled her to forget it all! And of course, Stefan is forcefully injected with the cure by Bonnie. Technically, I thought it was a smart move, but again, very interesting move on Julie Plec for going in that direction for the character.

I think the mythology as a whole, also went full circle when Cade and the sirens, Sybil and Seline were introduced. I’ve heard of stories about sirens before, but nothing like this. I also thought Sybil is more extreme and “scarier” than both Cade and Seline. And then the last two episodes!! OMG! Who could have dreamed to see you-know-who ruling over hell?!?! I mean, I thought that was amazing!

I know I didn’t exactly list “eight” moments, I just went with what I remembered the most in each season so I went by the seasons and listed whatever I wanted to! If you are a Twitter user, I will try to live tweet my reactions throughout the final episode! I will only do this during the East Coast broadcast though, so I will be online before 8pm! You can follow me and chat with me during the commercial breaks! We will cry and laugh together! My link in down below!

What was your favorite season(s) and character(s) on the show?

REVIEW | The Vampire Diaries (Mid) Season 7

WARNING: Spoilers below! Read with caution!

I love doing reviews, especially on my favorite shows! I’ve been thinking about doing a mid-season review on TVD since it went off for Thanksgiving break. I know a lot of you guys haven’t been watching it and I feel like you should give it another shot. This season alone–in my opinion–has been one of the most interesting seasons since probably two and three! We’re on seven if anybody is lost! I feel I’ve seen a lot of people stop watching the show around season four, which is understandable. I thought I’d stop during season five, but I didn’t. Thank god!

This season, even without our beloved Elena, has been an emotionally roller coaster ride that just keeps getting better and better! If you watched last season but decided to stop watching it because there’s no more Delena scenes and the show would just decline without her? Well, if it does that, it’s your fault because the writing for each episode has been awesome!

I have had my fair of doubts for the season as a whole and the new characters, like these new heretics. For one thing, I like these heretics a lot than I liked Kai. As a fan from the very beginning and wondering about Mama Salvatore, I couldn’t picture her becoming a vampire! Well, I did, but not like this! Lillian Salvatore came back to Mystic Falls with a purpose to turn her baby Stefan’s humanity back on during the last bit of season six. What went from a beautiful moment between mother and son kind of shattered when she was more focused getting her family of crazies out of the 1904 prison world.

The heretics that come out with her are Beau, Mary Louise, Nora, Valerie and Malcolm. However, poor Malcolm after decades and six months spending his time in a cave in 1904, he dies at the hand of both Bonnie Bennett and Damon after Stefan and Caroline agree to surrender their beloved town to Lily and her heretics after Valerie, Nora, and Nora’s girlfriend Mary Louise start a fire and kill several citizens at the police ceremony for the new members. Matty blue eyes was saved from being killed by the girls and after letting go of their home and compelling the rest to move out as there was a “gas leak” to keep them safe. After Malcolm was killed, Caroline was taken hostage and tortured by all three girls and eventually let go but not without hearing more about Valerie and Stefan’s interesting past.

If you thought you were a die-hard Steroline fan, think again!! Stefan and Valerie had a very tasteful afternoon in the 1800s while Valerie was only just a witch that was rejected from her family. She became pregnant with Stefan’s child and the man that she came to check Stefan out at the fair as a request by Lily, found out about her pregnancy and that she had wrote to Stefan to meet him one night, he followed her and beat her until the child had died. That night as Lily gave her her blood to heal her wounds from Julian (a character you’ll grow to hate) she decided to take her life while taking a bath, what she didn’t know was that she’d turn herself into a vampire that night becoming the first heretic. Beau is a mute heretic, very powerful and Lily’s right hand man. Mary Louise and Nora are probably my favorite couple right now.

Aside from the heretics and Lily Salvatore, you also have the grieving Alaric, who’s not just mourning the loss of his wife Jo, but their twins. Bonnie and Damon spent the whole summer babysitting and doing a fairly bad job at it too! Alaric had been playing the drunkness very well, and has been on a secret mission to bring Jo back from the dead with a mysterious stone. Once they figure out they’ve been played, Bonnie thinks she’d got him talked into destroying it after finding out it’s been cursed with black magic. When Alaric finally gets Bonnie to do the spell on Jo, he is pleased but not happy for the outcome. However, Lily wants the stone for herself to resurrect her partner Julian. His soul is being kept inside the stone along with other vampires’ souls too. So Jo is not Jo, her real name is Florence. After two days in Jo’s body, it starts rejecting her. Decomposing as they all start to realize what has happened. Alaric is left with another dead end.

Caroline has been tagging along with Stefan, dealing with Nora and Mary Louise. And then finding out about Valerie’s child. She agrees not to tell Stefan, but as Valerie and Stefan have a moment to discuss things, she tells him which makes him want to kill Julian after Lily and the heretics resurrect him from inside the stone. Once Damon is told of it as well, he joins in. As the challenge of trying to kill a vampire who’s been locked up in a stone for years battling his own battles. Things seem easier said then done, but as for Caroline. Her life just got much more complicated.

Before we get into that next section, Candice Accola (now King) announced to the world that she was pregnant with her first child! She announced it I think maybe a month after production of the new season was underway, and I was very curious about how or if it would be incorporated into the story line. Well it is! If you watched the last episode of season six, you remember as Kai was busy killing Jo and the twins. The coven was chanting until every last one of them were dead? Well fast forward and poor Caroline had been feeling rather weird, even for a vampire in general! Valerie discovers the tape as Alaric had decided to watch it one evening, and she recognizes the chant. Everybody assumed it was a chant to stop Kai, but it wasn’t. It was a chant to save the babies. Their coven relies on these babies. So they transfer them from Jo’s body to the next best option. Caroline! The babies had cloaked themselves inside her belly to the normal eyes until Valerie took off their protection spell and she and Alaric found two little baby girls inside her belly!

What is even more puzzling about this season is that you have TWO story lines. You’ve got the present day concept which is what I’ve just explained above, but you’ve also the story of three years later where things are drastically different. A lot of it has caused some heartbreak and confusion among fans, but hoping we know more about the two years more in the next few months. Of course I’ve left out quite a few key pieces of the season, especially about Lily’s existence. I’m hoping I haven’t ruined your day by telling you about what’s going on, but no offense! You should be caught by now!

If you’ve been watching what are your favorite characters and episodes so far? How are you feeling about the switch from Thursday to Friday’s too?

11 Hottest Characters On The Originals and The Vampire Diaries!

If I am annoying you with these post about the new season of The Vampire Diaries I would suggest just skipping this post today!

Last week I gave out a small list of characters that will no longer see (unless they come back in flashbacks!) anymore. This week I thought i’d share who I have gushed at for the past six seasons! I’ve also decided to include a few of my favorites from their spin-off The Originals too. If you didn’t know by now, both TVD and The Originals will return next week October 8th starting at 8pm EST! Who is excited?!?!

Ian Somerhalder (who plays Damon Salvatore)

I have to be truthful here, if it wasn’t for Damon Salvatore’s entrance at the end of the first episode of TVD I probably wouldn’t be a big of a fan like I am! I remember hiding underneath my blanket because that scene just scared the shit out of me! Ian Somerhalder was my first vampire/guy in general that I’ve ever fell in love by looking into his piercing blue eyes! I’ve never been THAT impressed by his body but his sense of humor is another story!

Daniel Gilles (who plays Elijah Mikaelson)

When Elijah made his first appearance during season two, I was dumbfounded. This “old” dude dressed up in his suits in every episode. He’s got the best serious, don’t play any games tone that is so intoxicating! A girl could seriously get used it. There were two episodes that really changed my outlook of both the show and this character. The first was when he meets the Salvatore brothers for the first time as they were trying to save Elena, I remember that episode being VERY bloody. A little more than the whole first season actually! Then there’s the scene on The Originals where he’s fighting off infected vampires of werewolf bites. Just the words “gentleman, shall we?” and the way he unbuttoned his suit, I had to rewind that part like four of five times because I was so taken by it!

Steven R. McQueen (who plays Jeremy Gilbert)

Little Gilbert. When Steven’s character Jeremy left for “art school” this past season I was so sad, but I was also glad he wasn’t being killed either because then we’ll never see him again. He came back during the season six finale and had a small moment with his sleeping sister. I’ve always loved Jeremy, I think I’ve cried more for him and Tyler than anybody else on both shows!

Phoebe Tonkin (who plays Hayley Marshall)

I remember falling in love with Phoebe Tonkin while she was on The Secret Circle, I loved her as Faye and this darker role. When that show was cancelled and she appeared on TVD as Hayley, I was probably the only one who was happy to see her there. I was really Team Klayley during the first season of The Originals and I guess i still am, but it would never work out honestly. Especially after how this past season of TO ended. Excuse my language, but she fucked herself after trying to run away with Hope. I’ve grown to really love Phoebe as a person! She’s just gorgeous!

Joseph Morgan (who plays Klaus Mikaelson)

Joseph Morgan. Yummy man you are!! I remember reading a spoiler just before his first episode on TVD on a site that explained his past jobs in the UK but truth be told, I didn’t really care for him at first!! Once he came to the show though, man did he surprise the crap off me! And I mean that in a good way! That’s what you want the villain-y character to do.  It was the first time I’ve ever been scared of a character on the show all throughout the show(s) but now we’ve seen him in a different light and that’s been nice to see that inside Klaus cares for certain things.

Paul Wesley (who plays Stefan Salvatore)

Stefan was the first one we got to meet during the first episode. The one we were the most curious about I think. I still remember falling in love with him and wishing he came into my school! No joke I did!! I am a die hard fan of Stelena! I did have a slip up at the beginning of season two, but I’ll always want him and Elena together. However, I’ve been leaning more and more to Steroline too! He deserves to be loved! He’s too cute not to love honestly!

Claire Holt (who plays Rebekah Mikaelson)

I remember when Claire made his entrance on the show. The 1920’s episode of when Stefan first met three of the Originals on his distant Rippah days. I always hated whenever Klaus would stake her on her decisions of wanting a normal life even though she is an immortal. The fact he trusted her enough to raise his daughter for six months of her life was really heartwarming. I really miss her playing Rebekah but I’ve grown to enjoy Maisie too! I like it whenever Claire makes those cameos though!

Charles Michael Davis (who plays Marcel Gerrad)

I was going to watch a spin off of TVD especially if it included the Original family of vampires. When we were first introduced to Marcel I was really intrigued on his role as king of the vampires in New Orleans. The fact he wasn’t going to let go of his power over the city when the Mikaelson family came back into town, but I like the friendship that was there between him and the whole family, especially the love connection with Rebekah. Charles’ smile makes me melt… like seriously!

Elyse Levesque (who played Genevieve)

Genevieve was a name that I could never spell before seeing it on The Originals thanks to closed captions! This was the first witch that I actually liked during the first season of the show. She was evil and had the right edge to get what she wanted but when she tried to kill Hayley and Hope I quickly flipped my direction. Elyse is a gorgeous woman, blue eyes and red hair! I’ve got a serious weakness for red heads thanks to my nana!

Nathaniel Buzolic (who plays Kol Mikaelson)

I was so sad when Kol got killed off TVD. I really was, I thought he was a strong character considering you had the two older brother Klaus and Elijah. When Matt was seeing the dead on the otherside he was sitting in the corner clutching anything he could to not disappear like everybody else he was really scared but who knew he’d be stupid enough to make a deal with mommy dearest herself and come back to befriend Davina, not to mention fall in love with her too in another body of course! I’ve already heard Nathaniel’s coming back for flashbacks in the new season of The Originals so that’s awesome!

Michael Trevino (who plays Tyler Lockwood)

Tyler Lockwood, man! During the first season he was an ass! I literally hated his guts and then he turned into a werewolf and fell in love with Caroline. Swoon! The episode that he’s got himself chained up as it was a full moon that night, I cried through that whole scene! I was eating dinner and I couldn’t finish my meal because I was crying so much. During the commercial my parents were making fun of me because I was reacting the way I was! I couldn’t help it! I’m too much like my mom in that way!
