OOTD: Bossy!

Hi 🙂

I’m back with another outfit of the day! I knew once spring decided to come around that my mom, nana and I would be able to go back to these posts again! I generally love working on them and showing off my style with all of you too!  I know I had mentioned in my previous OOTDs that I was going to start wearing more colorful outfits but you all should know about my love of black by now too! I don’t see the problem of wearing too much at one time!

This shirt is new, it was included into that fairly large shopping spree back in February, it is a regular graphic tee with “Not Bossy, Just Better” written on the front of it. When I saw it on the rack I couldn’t help myself, I had to get it. Something you may not know about me is that I have a strong personality, sometimes people confuse my attitude with being “bossy” but I feel like I am far from that. I just have strong beliefs and don’t like being told certain things, as a disabled woman seeking independence I don’t like when people assume and judge me. I think I can do the things you are able to do, but maybe even better and this is where people get carried away and automatically think I’m stuck up when I’m not. So this is probably my third shirt that I’ve worn that has a true statement about something I truly believe in some way!

This was also around $7 because it has a saying on the front of it. I’m sorry if you have trouble reading it through my hands, that’s the one negative about it, the font is fairly large and my hands take up most of the space on it.

I feel like I’ve worn these pants in a blog post before, but I’m not for sure so I had my mom and nana take them just in case I was wrong!

These are actually pants, not leggings! I don’t have very many of them in my drawers mostly because they’re a little hard to find and fit through my thigh and butt! I’ve always loved these though because the design of the skulls (not even sorry!) have like a black and white sugar skull theme on them. The material is nice and soft, they’re definitely made of cotton because they’re so thick, considering it’s “spring” it sure as hell didn’t feel like it! I was secretly freezing when that picture was taken up top and these were the only part of my body that was nice and toasty. I’ve learned to smile through the cold and hope to God that the sun can warm me up a little, it didn’t happen but hey, we still accomplished our mission!

17309461_1426554934075499_8941048816011719021_n17362606_1426554957408830_1526864821260910397_n

Unfortunately, I purchases these a few years ago so I don’t remember where we got them nor how much they were, but I’m thinking we got them at Wal-Mart too! I rarely find any skull bottoms anywhere besides Hot Topic! It’s a “once in a blue moon” motion whenever I find something at Wal-Mart! Oh, and don’t even bother asking how many skull leggings this is because even I don’t know!

I also wanted to try out an old hairstyle I modeled as a kid, while in grade school I had really long hair and a month or so before I had my back surgeries we were forced to get it cut short because of the metal halo that would be placed around my head. This was over 14 years ago and this is the first time I’ve had my hair just as long as I did back then. After July, I am getting a hair cut–maybe not a pixie but it will be short again at the end of the summer! I’m semi happy but sad too!

So what do you think of this outfit? Yay or nay? Do you have a shirt that reflects your personality to a T?

OOTD: Oh, Deer!

16640847_10202568140962839_2023995670131552378_n

Howdy!

Today I have another outfit of the day, but I wanted to mention that I wore it on Friday, I just wasn’t able to get the pictures right away to publish it over the weekend.

As I mentioned in my V-Day OOTD I went shopping and managed to buy more colorful clothes, mostly in the T-shirt department. I really love my black clothing and everything, but unfortunately most of the tops I own doesn’t go with my bright and crazy leggings so somehow I managed to buy probably seven tops that do not have a shade of black on them! I did buy one gray and two black and white tops, but you’ll see soon the only reason I bought those last two were because they go with my personality really well!

I guess since we’re already on the subject, we can start on the shirt which is a simple tee in a pale shade of yellow. I don’t really care for pastel colors, but I do like a mint and nice yellow like this. The day I wore this, my mom wore her pink top, and we looked like a couple of Easter eggs! I think it’s a nice color though, it’s not in your face yellow, it’s a very sweet and gentle color.

16711861_1391913607539632_7577365190048334235_n

I think since because this is just a basic top, it was cheaper than the “Love” shirt I put up last week. They were also on sale too, which was the real reason why I came home with five different shirts. I’m pretty sure they were all $3 each and that is really good. I originally had another shirt that I wanted to wear with these pants I’m about to talk about in a minute, but I lost to both my mom and sister. My dad was on my side but beer was involved so his answer was invalided.

Anyways, the leggings were the first thing I saw when we got into the section and I fell in love with them instantly. You guys know I love my Aztec designs, so this one is no different except it has little deer and birdcage images with the normal shapes throughout, but the background is a solid black and it has a rainbow ombre of bold colors from the waist to the ankles.

16806952_1391913634206296_2741659586988676828_n

Everybody that I was around that day, seemed to really like them and think they were from another brand that has become sort of popular recently, called LaRue but they’re from Wal-Mart instead. These were just $4 and that is a LOT better than some places especially LaRue’s prices as I was told! I know a lot of people have opinions about Wal-Mart’s leggings that they have a little bit of a history of tearing while in the wash, but I’ve never had any issues with them and majority of the leggings in my drawer is from there!

I also wore my shawl that morning since I had an early day at physical therapy and it was pretty chilly! I even had to wear a pair of socks, they weren’t anything fancy though! Just plan black socks that I feel shrunk while in the washer because my mom was having issues putting them on me and my nana almost took off my left foot trying to remove it when I got to her house!

So what do you think of this outfit? Yay or nay?

OOTD: Valentine

16729433_1386987274698932_4082250858181875025_n

Hi 🙂

I bet you’re wondering why I am posting again, well yesterday I went for my first day in physical therapy and I went to my nana’s house afterwards, so I got dressed all fancy for Valentine’s Day! I also want to apologize for the brightness on the pictures. My mom put me right in the direction of the sunlight and I knew this would happen. I tried to fix it on PicMonkey but it was driving me crazy and they would not let me save them without creating an account first. So hopefully everybody that reads this post will understand. Oh, and you’re going to love my expressions!

Okay, let’s start this off! On Sunday, my mom, sister and I had ourselves a girl’s day out and we went to a bridal expo, which I will talk more about sometime next month. We also went to Wal-Mart and I still had a gift card from Christmas and I used it up in one day buying all new clothes! Retail therapy has its perks!

First things first, we have to discuss something. My mom has the worst time lifting me up into the car while I wear my coat. She cannot get ahold of my arms and safely put me into the seat, so we’ve had to remove it beforehand. We found a rack of shawls as we were passing by and we thought we’d try one out. I went for the green and blue plaid colored one. The shawl was $5! Surprisingly, it works and what I love about it, is that I can wear it in the “right” way, where my hands are placed on the outside of it (even though they’ll be colder that way!) and it doesn’t look silly on me because of my skrawny arms.

16708389_1386987264698933_4340153308252606875_n

Underneath is a red top, and we found this as we were looking at the different holiday shirts. I am sucker for clothes with sayings on it, I always have been! This one is just a simple outline of a heart in white with the word “love” written in the middle. I am happy that the lettering is large enough that even if I don’t move my arms over, people can still read what it says without a problem. That is always a plus with me!

This shirt was probably $7.88, but don’t count me on that!

16681673_1386988341365492_5744070196050849415_n

As far as my leggings, I had two options. I have another gray pair of leggings, they are a darker gray with a light gray floral pattern. I thought those would look good with the shirt, but that night I realized I still had my “lace” ones too! They’re not made out of lace, but they have that lace-y look to them. They’re a gray, almost white background while the actual lace-floral pattern is in black. I love these but I haven’t had anything that goes with them until now!

16730120_1386988684698791_1214116563308981912_n

To finish out my outfit, I wore red socks that have little Christmas trees on the sides to tell you which is left or right. My Aunt Laurie got me these as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, I may have to stop wearing them because of the material just sheds everywhere! My mom and I tend to have scraps of red all over us by the end of the day! They keep my toes very warm at night anyways!

So what do you think of my outfit? Yay or nay?

OOTD: Orange Skulls

Untitled

Howdy!

One half of this post was meant to go up last Saturday, but I wasn’t anywhere near my laptop, so I’ve had to combine them. Hey! At least I remembered to ask members of my family to take my pictures for me!

Our weather got super cold by Friday morning! When I woke up that morning the temp in my room was between 66-67 degrees! I was covered up in my blanket like a freaking cocoon it was so cold! Since it’ll only get colder outside I’m back to wearing both socks and long sleeve shirts! The outfit on the left side was from Friday, I was covered in skulls and I loved it! You’ve seen the leggings before, but the hoodie is new! My parents went to Wal-Mart a few days before this picture was taken and they came home with this shirt. My mom loves the fact that it has a hood on it! I love it for two things: It has an Aztec design of a skull on the front and it’s so big that you can see it through my hands! Hot damn! I wore it all day long, everywhere I went was pretty chilly and the whole outfit kept me warm.

Saturday, my Aunt Laurie and my nana got to dress me. My outfit for that day was on the right side. I wore my favorite cat face leggings! The pants in general are white but some of the cats have black, gray, turquoise, pink, lavender, and/or neon orange as the secondary colors! My shirt is from Rue21 and it’s technically a hand-me-down from my own sister! I have to say I love getting her old clothes though. For one she has a great sense of style and for the first week I get to smell like her! I really like this blouse. I love the short sleeves and the button in the front. It actually fits me pretty well, as far the right shoulder, ALL of my shoulders do that! That’s what happens with Arthrogryposis people. Our shoulders are so small that sometimes necklines of shirts just slide down easier than they with normal sized shoulders. Everybody should be happy that it only happens to one of them instead of both! It’s happened so much that I honestly don’t care about it anymore!

Which outfit do you like the most?

Three New Nail Polishes!

Howdy!

I’m back from spending time with my family. Technically I’ve been back for a couple of days but I’ve been trying to edit pictures and rest as much as possible because the last time I spent the night at my grandparent’s house and hung out with the family, I couldn’t do anything for at least two weeks! Things were a bit different this time around, but I’m still really tired! So to give myself some time to relax in the week, I’ve decided to publish a couple of smaller posts and leave the bigger ones for early next week.

Everything happened from Friday evening to Saturday night. It doesn’t seem all that short but to me, it was a lot longer than that trust me! A little run down, During day two, my Uncle Rick came down to spend some time with us. My Aunt Laurie and Uncle Mike had asked me if I wanted to join them while they went to Wal-Mart. I said sure. My younger cousin Taylor wasn’t originally going to go with us, but after I asked where he was Laurie went back and from what he told me she used games as a bribe to get him to go with us. I felt bad for him in a way, I talked my head off the whole way there, but he let me have it on the way back so it was all right! I learned a lot about him on that ride home so that was nice! He’s like me, he’s a little bit shy. If you can get him away from his nook he’s very lively and talkative! I felt bad I managed to lose my UNO cards in the last month and I don’t know why we managed to not buy a whole new deck of cards while we were there! Next time we’ll have our rematch!

I don’t know if I’ve ever talked about this before but my Aunt Laurie and her husband Mike are both deaf, it’s a bit difficult to talk to the both of them. I can’t learn sign language even though we’ve found out there are ways for ones who use their feet like me to do it. Unfortunately my toes can’t separate from one another, but I do know a couple of gestures that I CAN do with my left foot, for the most part I have to talk very slowly so they can (hopefully) read my lips. It’s a lot harder than it looks, I’ve always had an issue with it because I am a fast talker and a giggler, but then again if you saw these two and how fast they talk to one another, even with one hand it will amaze you! Sometimes Taylor does have to tell her what I said because he can hear and use sign language to translate it for her. It’s very interesting! I say this because the first thing she had him ask me was “what do you want for your birthday?” I honestly didn’t know! I still don’t know to tell you the truth!

On our outing, they were searching for things for my grandparents like my Papaw’s ice cream bars. He loves fudge bars but whenever my mom goes shopping at the end of the week for them, she has a hard time finding them. Well, Wal-Mart didn’t have them either! My nana wanted more glasses. So they got her an eight or maybe it was a six-pack of small glasses for her. I was supposed to get her markers but I forgot. And Mike also got her some flowers (fake) for outside in the yard. I also got some pretty flowers, not that I have any place for them! You might see them in future blog posts! I love sunflowers and daisies and surprisingly that’s what I got! One of the last things we got though were the nail polishes! Laurie got some lipstick which turned out to be lip gloss instead! The packaging was misleading! Anyways, I was very troubled in choosing what colors I wanted to get this time around. There was more of a selection and I was only allowed two or three. So I came home with these three colors!

I generally pick these brands on accident almost every time! Sally Hansen and Pure Ice nail polishes! They’re usually cheap and low to my level so I can reach them. The first one that got my attention was the middle one. It’s called “Unbreakable Heart” and it’s a deep red, perfect autumnal color! The second was the “Big Teal” by Pure Ice. It says it’s teal but it looks more navy blue than anything else so we’ll have to see what that one does! And lastly because it is almost Halloween, I got a light orange color called “Sun Kissed” also by Sally Hansen! I really want to paint my toes in this color and borrow my nana’s black sharpie and make a Jack O lantern on my big toe! I’ve got too many ideas to do with that one stuck in my head!

Which color do you like the best?

OOTD + Date Night

11950420_505394922970507_1205353891154989055_o

Howdy!

Tuesday was a bit weird for me. I got up rather late – well I didn’t get much sleep that night or morning so by the time I did get back up after the third attempt, it was like one in the afternoon. When I got up my dad asked me if I was hungry and I said yes. about 15 minutes later he came in with only a hot pocket and a homemade chocolate milk. After I was finished, he came in and took my plate away and move back my table. After this, he said “I hope this fills you up for now because later we’re going out for dinner.” I was dumbfounded a little, so I was like “what?” so he repeated himself but say we’re going on a date night. I never go on a date night, because well I’m the daughter. He also asked how much money I still had and then I realized we were going to Wal-Mart too. I was so happy that I decided to go back to sleep that morning!

Around 5:30pm my mom came in and got me dressed. Remember in my last OOTD post, I said my mom got me two new pairs of leggings? Well, I got to wear the other pair. This one is a cheetah or leopard print, can’t really tell between them. The colors are black, blue, turquoise, and purple. They are super long on my legs! I honestly prefer longer sleeves on both shirts and pants, they cover up anything that might draw attention and I didn’t really need to wear socks. However, the fact with these on in the heat, I didn’t need socks! My mom read the label before we tried them on the other day, they’re like 95% polyester and 5% spandex which explained a lot! These are going to be pants I probably won’t wear a lot because they are very silky, I almost slid right out of my seat in the car! My shirt is a normal cotton top. The color changes on it a bit, it looks like a very light pink in the picture above but it’s really lavender.

We went and ate first, we went to Ponderosa. I love buffets! They’re my favorite! I actually switched it up a bit this time, as my dad got what he normally gets whenever we go there. I got fish, two different kinds! It was really good! I had to get mashed potatoes and brown gravy, unfortunately they weren’t very good. I also go green beans which were finished off first! My dad also suggested I get fried baby shrimp since I was eating fish. I didn’t want it at first but dad put it on my plate anyways. I got to try it with both cocktail and tartar sauces, but I liked the cocktail one better! And yes, I had room for ice cream too! It doesn’t matter how old I get, I basically look forward to that more than anything! I usually get vanilla with peanuts, oreos, and cut up other candies. My dad was too stuffed to finish his dessert, he got his normal carrot cake with chocolate-vanilla swirl.

For this adventure, I was allowed to take my big wheelchair because the weather was great! I really miss roaming around Wal-Mart in it, but I feel like I was as clingy to my folks even with my electric chair. We spent most of our time in the entertainment department. My dad is not exactly a genius when it comes to this stuff, but neither is my mom. It was cutting close to 7pm and the commercials you usually see of Wal-Mart having employees that know what they’re talking about for each department was not exactly true during our trip. I spent the majority of my time just wandering each part finding things that I should probably keep locked in my head for later trips, like ones closer to Christmas! I found one coloring book for adults that I was going to get, but as I started to really look into it, I didn’t think my nana would like it as much. The lines are really thin and I don’t want her to feel restricted if she accidentally gets out of the lines. So we put it back and continued our search. We found a bunch of fuzzy posters in a box, 30 of them in different sizes! Whenever i go over to my nana’s next we’ll divide them up. I also got a new set of markers that I’m hoping she’ll be able to use too!

I technically had a lot in my head on what I wanted to find. Next month my nana is to have eye laser surgery so our usual Halloween pumpkins might appear a little later, the only thing that screamed Halloween that they had out already was the big bags of candy stacked in boxes in the outside lanes. I spent my time in and out of all the art and crafts supplies aisles. I got something different that my nana and I could do for Halloween. I’m not going to share all of the details yet, but I might share some pictures soon.  And lastly I got two newer pairs of leggings. I finally got me some galaxy leggings! They’ve been on fashion bucket list for like 6 years now. I’m happy! I also got a solid blue leggings that say “fearless” on them. I really wanted some of these Aztec pairs, but maybe the next time my mom goes she can surprise me with a pair or two! I’m really loving them! The two I saw actually screamed winter for me!

When we came home we were greeted with Bootsie and Felix. As much as I really wanted to hang out with the babies I decided to go inside because I was really tired. I didn’t go to sleep that night until like 10pm. Surprisingly I slept pretty good, but I still took a nap Wednesday afternoon. It looked like it was going to storm all day yesterday, for some odd reason my body thought it would be a perfect excuse to take a nap. I only slept for an hour. I think that’s it!

So what do you think of this outfit? Not so dark, actually very colorful compared to the last one. Are you looking forward to seeing what I got in the craft section?

Nail Polish Haul!

11709527_10200547862377137_6018180927583758138_n

Last week, my parents and I went to Wal-Mart to get a few things, and I’m actually serious when i say “few things” too! The last time we went I hardly got anything for myself than besides gummi worms and two T-shirts, this time I went with full intentions on finding something that will keep me occupied during the days of the week at home.

I had it in my head that if I was REALLY desperate enough to just go ahead and buy paints (red, yellow, blue) and see what I can do with them. I’ve never been interested in painting! I hated doing it in school, even though I could hold a brush and do everything else, but there’s also cleaning off my feet and not getting paint everywhere! So instead, I got one of those fuzzy/velvet posters that you color in with markers and a deck of UNO cards. They say on the packaging of the poster that its “mistake proof” and I laugh everytime because its not true! If the velvet is very thin, it’s not going to help me from running off the design! I always lose whenever I play UNO. I finally talked my mom into playing me the other night and she thoroughly kicked my ass! I won two games, but she actually kept score – something that I didn’t know you had to do after finishing a round! We were only supposed to play til 200 points but we were tons of fun that she kept bumping up! We played for a whole hour and a half!

I’m not a huge girly-girl. I have my good days but it’s rare! I hate makeup on me, probably because I don’t exactly know what works for me and my skin tone. I also don’t like it because I can’t put it on myself, somebody else has to do for me and I just hate doing that! However, I can make an exception when it comes to nail polishes. I love doing other people’s nails! We went into the makeup/nail aisles of the entrance of the store. It was the last place we went into and I got six different colors of polishes! Whenever I have my mom or Blondie get me some nail polishes to store at nana’s house, they usually come back with glitter polishes! My nana and I actually despise the glitter polishes, mostly because they are a bitch of get off with the remover stuff! I find it hilarious that I bought six of them and yet I know I’ll only want my toe nails painted. I’m not much of my fingers painted like I used to, it’s difficult to get to them so I find it better just to do my toes instead!

11059693_10200547862337136_9121859506258204785_n

I decided to do a haul of them. I was feeling very spring/summer-y and bought a mixture of bold and pastel colors! I think my mom and I had a little bit too much going through the lit rows of colored polishes. The first two are from Sally Hansen! I actually surprised myself because I bought a light pink shade and if any of you know me really well, you know I hate the color pink with a passion, but this one looked so cute and innocent. It’s called “Hardcore Party.” The green is more like a lime green, this was my mom’s least favorite of the bunch! She literally said “ugh” when I told her it was pretty and it is! It reminds of early spring, before all of the rain comes in and evolution makes the shade of the leaves to go darker. This one is called, “Limestone” which seems to fit it perfectly!

10339687_10200547862297135_6593043078608087241_n

The next set is from Xtreme! These two are my more bolder shades of the group, especially this yellow! I’m actually in love with it, because it’s not like a light yellow, it’s got more of a gold-ish tint to it. It’s still very much a bright yellow, but it’s a bit darker too! It is called, “Mellow Yellow” and the blue one was my last purchase! I have been on a blue kick since last summer! I haven’t been able to get a blue in any shade since I let my friend’s daughter Katie do my nails last July! The blue isn’t like a baby blue like maybe I would have liked it to be, but it’s not boring either! It looks like the color of the ocean which is ironic since my sister has spent most of her week in Hawaii on board a cruise! So this might remind her of the ocean when she gets back! This one is called “Big Teal” and I love the name of this one don’t ask me why!

11694024_10200547862417138_1730363812331146698_n

Before I became a blogger, I never cared to read the brand and since reading this off, I’ve been trying to think if we’ve ever tried any of them! Sally Hansen, yes we have!! The last brand is called Pure Ice and I’ve never used this brand before! The first one is like a peachy color, very, very light. I’m thinking about pairing it up with the yellow or green polishes! The picture is making it look more like an orange, but it’s not I swear! The other is another blue-ish shade! This one looks more minty to me than the teal one. It’s very pretty! Unfortunately finding any information about what the colors are called, hell even finding them on the Wal-Mart website was a freaking bust! Sorry about that! I’m hoping that everybody loves the colors and hopefully in the next month or so I can get some more! While we were in the aisles, there were rows of polishes empty, so I’m hoping next time they’re fuller and we have another fun time selecting new colors! By the way, all of them were less than $2 each!
