Nolan’s Nursery Tour!

Howdy!

Well…¬†he’s here!

We all thought he’d either arrive the day before but instead she went into labor at like 10am Tuesday and had him at almost one o’clock Wednesday morning! I’m hoping to actually write another blog post in a couple of days and that’ll have more of the stuff that happened during both labor and delivery, so you’l just have to be a little patient for me, because I’m both visiting and trying to find my sleep on that of it.

Today though, I am taking you through Nolan’s room! My mom and I went over to their apartment the first weekend of the month to help her organize it, because between the first baby shower, Brandon’s family also came down a few days later, the room itself looked like it exploded! Luckily, by the time we came over Blondie and Brandon had tried to clean up most of it, so not only could you see the floor but it had the makings of a really cute room.

This is how it looked before any of us went through it…

It had been a long time since we went over to their apartment, well, I can’t say that, because before heading to the villas to start her baby shower, my mom did go inside to see if there was anything they needed help with so she got to see Chipper and the cats. She swore up and down she didn’t hold Otis, but I didn’t believe her! So when we both came through the door, Chipper was SO excited! He was jumping up and down and whining, he’s never done before, and the cats were even happy to see us. I had both Samuel and Otis sniffing and checking me out.

We “helped” clean the rest of Nolan’s clothes, I attempted to fold onesies on the foot stool of the rocking chair, and that was a disaster of itself! I can fold rags and large towels, but me and baby clothes are apparently another story! The only thing I was able to do was after they were washed, I turned them out again because I guess they have to be inside out to get them clean, which as I thought about it, I didn’t think that was so smart because how are you going to know the stain is actually gone without flipping them around again? I thought that was a stupid idea, but that’s me for you.

34208077_985313604978634_3722926065044160512_nBoth Chipper and Gru were the ones who were basically attached to Blondie’s hip as we were messing around in his room. Chipper just wanted attention and kept going in and out of the room, and since my wheelchair isn’t big enough to block the door frame, he was able to go in and out freely. Gru, however, sat on the rocking chair with Blondie for the longest time! He’s the one that likes to lick and shove people over, and there was literally no room for the two of them on that chair, so she gave up and since he wanted to lay out and sleep, she put him in the pack n play. Don’t worry, Brandon’s Saints’s blanket was underneath him the whole time!

We didn’t move a lot of stuff, they had the dressers and crib where they won’t be in the way or anything. It was mostly putting up his clothes in the already crowded closet and putting up the pack n play as he really won’t need it this early, he’ll mostly be in the swing (he doesn’t like it!), which goes faster than we all were really comfortable with! And they also have the bassinet in their bedroom, that Toni enjoys sleeping underneath I guess. The only things that mom did scoot over was the rocking chair and trash can to the other side of the changing table!

The bed situation was pretty hilarious though. As you will see in a bit, Nolan won’t need anymore stuffed animals as the whole thing was covered with different ones when we got there! You had Blondie’s love of both rottweilers and sloths on full display along with Brandon’s childhood Pokemon characters too! The crib, stroller, bassinet, and car seat were the first things they were given back in December through February I think! Everything else has been from either Aunt Cindy or Brandon’s family.

So I think that’s it, that’s all we really did there. Who know little over a week later, he’d actually be here already. Thank god, everything’s clean and ready for him!

Blondie’s Bridal Shower!

18556411_10202948870600842_2193993677375556609_n

Hello! ūüôā

Three weekends ago, I mentioned on my outfit of the day post that I went to my sister’s bridal shower! It was exciting and a bit nerve-wrecking to say the least, because most of us waited until like the last minute to figure out what exactly we were going to do while there, like what kind of decorations and games we were going to play. Blondie and Brandon came up with some of the decorations months earlier, but I think a few things will be used for their reception at the actual wedding.

When we got there, we were greeted by their cat Samuel just chilling on a towel in front of the door. Thank god the door opens towards you otherwise he would have been hit. He’s kind of lucky he didn’t get run over either! A few of the bridesmaids Sam, Jayde, Skyela and Alli were there already. Sam and Blondie were in the little kitchenette cooking the beef and chicken for the Taco Bar. The cats kept trying to steal pieces of ice out of the bucket Brandon b18556333_10202948868520790_8267943436613421614_nought to keep the mini water bottles cold the entire time.

The shower was the first time my mom and I to finally meet some of Brandon’s family. I’ve actually been excited to meet his mom since probably last year. I know she’s not my mother-in-law but I still wanted to meet her! He had his mom, sisters, cousin, aunt and grandma there. I felt bad for him in ways, he basically stayed in his “man cave” through most of the shower playing his new video game; that part he probably wasn’t too sad about that! He did come out for one of the games though. When we played The Newlywed Game. I had asked him questions two days before so we could make signs and I realized that not only do I suck at bubble letters that I really need to invest on using my clipboard more since I now have green little dots all over my new cutting board. It’s for my blogging photography, don’t freak out on me too much!

His mom, brought down some very adorable pictures of when he was a baby and toddler for the party game “Guess What Age I Am” and don’t worry, mom found some very cute photos of Blondie when she was younger too! My dad and I had to glue them onto some paper and I wrote what age might’ve been in each one. I say “might’ve” because I had a hard time thinking back how old she really was for each year! I sat between both of my grandma’s, it was the first outing my nana has done since her whole health scare. She seemed18581601_10155343778247520_3354911898878346185_n to enjoy it since Otis basically flooped down into her lap when she first got into the apartment! Nana failed at guessing Blondie’s age in each picture, while my grandma (dad’s mom) and I won a fair amount on Brandon’s. I guess I can’t tell between a few months and a year old!

I was very proud of myself. I joined in on the fun with the games. When everybody was first showing up, they were asked to write out a memory of them and the bride-to-be and since I couldn’t figure out a single memory to share, I decided to say which one and have her guess which guest it is. Apparently I didn’t understand the rules very well, because as Blondie was failing to guess the right person, I thought it was only right to help her out but I kept getting yelled at by our mother because I was giving out hints. To the ones she couldn’t guess right, they were given prizes. It wasn’t until we were on our way home that I figured it that out and then I felt like a dumbass! Anyways, the memories were funny and I thought were better than what we both thought would happen. The last one was probably the “worst” out of all of them because it had to do with her drinking! Poor thing, three grandmothers in the room and she thought she was free from them hearing anything bad!¬†Wrong!

18622914_10202953825844720_22095171_nBack in March Blondie and I had looked on Pinterest for different ones. I found quite a neat games, I kind of thought we could play a Disney related game since the theme of the wedding is half Disney princesses and half Batman, like no joke! Just look at their cake topper that Brandon found on Etsy at the picture above! I will link the different games we played here: The Newlywed Game¬†and What’s In My Phone or use the alternative What’s In My Purse?

I definitely had a fun time! I was in a lot of pain by the time it was all over with though so that part sucked! Poor Chipper sent the weekend at the vet while his brothers were having the time of their lives with the guests. Gru and Otis crashed on a few laps, Samuel begged for taco meat from my mother, but little Tonif chilled out underneath the bed the whole time until she bravely went out into the living room and was stunned of the amount of people and did a U-turn back into the bedroom, she almost hit her back legs on the doorway! I’m thankful Blondie didn’t start crying when that happened! I went back over the Monday afterwards and she seemed more relaxed, even let me pet her which does not happen very much!

Hope you all enjoyed the post! Next will be about the Bachlorette Party!

Always Left Behind…

10445459_372904146219586_1071378727036356987_n

Howdy!

This post was created on accident, scratch that, this entire situation was created on accident. It’s not exactly a “situation” either. It’s just something that tends to come up every now and then and finally I am ready to talk about it on here.

My sister is getting married next summer. We are getting really excited and nervous (mostly about bridesmaid dresses, the¬†tuxes, weather, etc) about all those small details that you think wouldn’t pop into your head this early but they have and now you get to deal with them in advance!

One of the things that has been eluding my brain is about the bachelorette party. Back in July, Blondie didn’t want to do anything that would be considering a “party” well now she does, but she still has the same feelings about having an actual party part. So she began to text our mother for ideas plus ask how I would feel about it, I already get nervous enough whenever my mom wants to have a sit down talk with me because usually it’s something bad and this was no exception; because she was wanting to have all of the girls go further up the state and celebrate there since it’s the half way point for most of the ladies. However, the fact is that it’s such a long distance, my mom wasn’t really comfortable with that. ¬†Blondie doesn’t want to do anything that excludes me, but I don’t like the fact that her bachelorette party would be basically centered around me because she was trying to get ideas on what to do.

I’ve been basically left out of a lot of different things. I say to people all the time that I don’t have any friends–I have online friends, but majority of them live across an ocean! I mean to say that I don’t have anybody that live close to me to where we could hang out every other weekend like normal friends do. The last time I hung out with a¬†“friend” was in 2012. So yes, I am very much used to being the one that gets left behind.

I don’t know if my disability is to be blamed for this because now I have a lightweight wheelchair that everybody in my family (including myself) loves to hate. We’ve lost a wheel and I’ve fallen out of it a couple of times, but other than that it’s not bad. I wouldn’t consider it a wheelchair but that’s my problem. Anyways, I know what my problem is for this, it’s my weight. I get told frequently that I am getting heavy to lift. I always fear for the back and knees on other people because I know I’m causing more tension in those areas.¬†I can’t change how much weight I put on though, nor can I allow the thought of it control what I put into my body either and I shouldn’t have to for the sake of hanging out with friends, you know?

This year has really been a year where I’ve gone with the flow to the best of my ability. It’s mostly because there were things that happened beyond my control and I felt like I didn’t need to have a say in whether or not I did it. I’ve felt more at peace knowing that I didn’t care about what an old friend was doing, if they haven’t talked to me or even spend a day hanging out with me than they’re not worth my time!¬†Now you know why I deleted you…

Am I sick of always coming second? Absolutely, but am I okay with being the reason why my sister can’t do what she wants for her party, no. So where do I stand?

Vegas | On The Road Again…

13343026_608625799314085_849518982022229585_n

Howdy!

So I am finally starting on the Las Vegas blog posts! HOORAY! Now I should probably say this flat-out that I did not go, my sister and her fiancée went there with a group of his friends as a birthday celebration (of course!) and I get the joy of talking about almost everything of their trip!

Last year, they went to Hawaii for a week and my sister had so many pictures and information about it, that those posts required a few days in between them. This time, despite being there for the same amount of time, the quantity of photos are a little less. Blondie and Brandon and his friend Allen left for their very long drive to Las Vegas the day after my papaw’s birthday! And since we went looking through different stuff of my papaw’s, my sister found this gold key chain of a train and she ended up taking it along as if papaw was really with them!

One of the differences from their time in Hawaii is that instead of flying there, they decided to drive… Guess whose idea this was? My sister! According to my mom’s friend she said that if you take the Red-Eye from Indianapolis to Las Vegas, it costs about $39! After getting through Kansas, everybody realized how BAD of an idea it was to drive! However, they did get some pretty interesting photos of the different places in the five states they went through. From seeing snow on top of mountains in Colorado to nothing but dry heat and desert in Utah and Nevada!

It took them about two or three and a half days to get to their destination!¬†They stopped through Denver, Colorado for a night and went back on the road again but stopped while in Green River, Utah and took some amazing pictures. In some of them below, you almost get the feel they just pulled over and got out to stretch their legs a bit! Whatever the reason, the views were pretty cool! After all that driving they finally made it to their hotel. Blondie said on a photo that Brandon treats her like a princess that they were staying in a castle, and by the pictures she wasn’t kidding! They stayed at the Excalibur!

I think that’s all I’m going to talk about for today! Next week, I’ll go into more details of what they did even though they were broke before they’re first day there!¬†Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Have you went to Las Vegas? What is better flying there or driving and seeing all these different environments?

They Moved Out!

x3agbdcrpkd1e7577hdwbca25ohft7is

After my sister graduated from high school and we knew that she was going to spend her first year of college somewhat far away from home, we had some issues! Our parents were worried about her safety and what she could be doing with her new friends. I didn’t really have an issue, I mean I missed the crap out of her but I’m not going to lie I liked going up and visiting her on the campus. When she came back home for her second year, it wasn’t too far away but she could have that privacy she had while being up state. She met Brandon and things kind of changed for her in a good way.

She and Brandon had plans moving up state together over the summer, but my parents weren’t really okay with that. They like Brandon, our dad really likes him and he doesn’t like very many people, especially anybody his daughters like. So he made the suggestion that he move into the house with us until they find some place closer. He moved in the second to last week of May, they both got jobs at Wal-Mart and things were going pretty good! Back in September, Blondie started her CNA classes along with her regular school courses. She got a job at our mom’s job and she passed her state test a month later! Now she and Brandon have their own little apartment. It’s about an hour or thirty minutes from us, but they’re close to work and school!

I think everybody’s been a little excited about this. At first my parents weren’t thrilled of course, at least they didn’t go through with their first idea! Anyways, I was generally excited because the first thing I thought of was “vacation!!” Sometimes going over to my nana’s whenever we have family down isn’t enough for me. However, there’s one bad thing. They live up on the second level, according to my mother there’s 14 steps. Ick! So much for going there for every two weeks…¬†The weeks leading up to them moving in were spent figuring the color theme and how the hell they were going to get Brandon’s stuff down here, so some of his family came down to help them out a little.

They also took some kitties with them. The two that went to their new home were Toni and Bear-Bear. Toni apparently liked the car ride there then the actual apartment. They had to come back to the house though because Bear-Bear kept trying to hump Toni. We thought getting him fixed would kind of stop that, but guess not! They took Gru instead which makes sense because these are the two they were originally going to take anyways. My mom went to go visit them the other day (I wasn’t so happy about that!) and she said that Gru was LOVING it! So much that he even used the litter box! Last night we had a surprise visit from them, they came back to get a few things, leftover pulled pork from supper, and another kitty. Otis is our runt of Midget’s litter, mom doesn’t think he needed to be outside in the cold so they took him. Now my mom will be over everytime she gets off work to go check up on her cat.

Here are some pictures of their new place!! The color theme they went with are red, gray, and black! That couch is a futon, it folds out flat into a bed so if I can go over there for a night or weekend. My mom has already gotten them to let her stay there if she can’t travel on the roads whenever she works in the winter!
