Summer Playlist 2018

Untitled

Howdy!

I wasn’t sure to post this today or wait until next Tuesday, since summer actually ends this weekend. Sorry for all you summer babies out there! I know I say this every year, but I really need to make a list of songs that have been playing like crazy throughout the past four months; I always forget one or two songs and afterwards I have to go back and add them into the post.

There has been a lot of good music that came out this summer, but you guys know me, the best does not come out in May through August, oh no! They usually start to flourish in April, and stay on the charts in the Top 20 for a long time! What’s funny about that though, is that I only have like three or four that were brought out sometime in spring, and the rest were released in the actual season. I also tend to have one genre in every playlist without even trying, and for this year, it’s been hip hop music. So, I have a lot of rap music making into the list.

So here is your list for 2018!

The Middle by Zedd featuring Maren Morris and The Grey
Wolves by Selena Gomez and Marshmello
Mama by Jonas Blue featuring William Singe
What Lovers Do by Maroon 5 featuring SZA
How Long by Charlie Puth
Move To Maimi by Enrique Iseglias and Pitbull
Familiar by Liam Payne featuring J Balvin
Icon by Jaden Smith featuring Nicky Jam
Love Lies by Khalid and Normani
Friends by Anne-Marie and Marshmello
Dinero by Jennifer Lopez featuring DJ Khaled and Cardi B
Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons
In My Feelings by Drake
Mad Love by Sean Paul featuring Becky G and David Guetta
I Like It by Cardi B featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin
1, 2, 3 by Sofia Reyes featuring Jason Dersulo and De La Ghetto
Summer On You by PRETTYMUCH
I Wanna Known by NOTD featuring Bea Miller
These Days by Rudimental featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore, Dan Chaplen
Back To You by Selena Gomez

Okay, so there are less hip hop songs that I thought I would put on here! Honestly, it’s a good mix of different genres on here, so that makes me happy! I feel that it’s a fun and has a lot of tracks to dance to, which is always nice! And I also realized after a while that there is a lot of music with J Balvin in it! I didn’t plan on that but I naturally drawn to reggaeton so that really doesn’t surprise me.

If you’d like to check out my previous summer playlists, here is 2016 and 2017! Hope you enjoyed this post.

What is one song that you heard over and over again this summer?

New Sounds

I am deciating this post to a friend of mine who is making me regret not taking any foreign languages in high school. She told me earlier on Twitter that she was going to make a list playlist of German songs for me to listen to. I love listening to different music all over the world, even though I don’t understand it. You can tell if a song is supposed to be a happy song versus a sad one. Majority of the sad songs are not upbeat. Thank god she sent me mostly techno music this time around. The first time she sent me a song in German, it was a rap song. It was very interesting for me to listen to it. Good thing for her, it wasn’t my first time I’ve listened to music in another language.

A few years ago when I was still heavily into rap music, I was listening to a lot of Raggaeton and music like that. I loved Daddy Yankee, I still listen to some of his songs every once in a while, but his place has been taken by Pitbull. I love when I listen to other music in another language, I’m not worried about the words they’ll use in their lyrics. You’ve seen me complain about that before. I’m not a fan of rap music especially the rapper’s words. I am listening to a group I think, called Die Atzen. I’m listening to a whole album on Spotify and I am loving it! I’m always paying more attention to how the song sounds–beat wise. Lyrics come second to me. It’s better when you go to learn a song, you know how it goes sound wise, before words or everything will be out of control and you’ll be confused. Songs in different languages you can’t understand is a bit hard to do, but it is fun to wonder what they’re talking about though.

My Ears Like More Than American Music.

I’ve said before I’m a Trance and Rock music kind of girl right? Well that’s somewhat not true. I love all kinds of music. Country, Blues, Pop, and Rap. These are the “normal” stuff that all teenagers listen to. Except for me, I go big. I listen to Insturmentals from movies. I love watching movies that we’re Boardway hits, like Dreamgirls and Newises. I started listening to Jazz because of Dreamgirls. From the first time I saw the preview for Burlesque I was hooked. The clothes and music were amazing! It had its moments of humor too. Cher and her gay friend that I can’t remember what his name was but he’s also in Easy A too.

This will be funny for some of you. I was addicted to The Cheetah Girls fever. More especially for the One World. I will never look at American music the same. I though hip hop music was beatable. Apparently Bollywood is better. I LOVED the song “Dance Me If You Can” and “Stand Up” those songs were my favorites throughout the movie. The whole culture is just gorgeous. I wish I could go there and see the Tahj Mahal. That’s spelled wrong. Sorry.

My frienf Nevena suggested me to listen to some Sebria rap. This was when I wasn’t into rap. I still don’t like rap music but if I can’t understand a word the person says, I’m fine. I can listen to Reggaeton. Mostly Don Omar and Daddy Yankee. I love how it sounds. I don’t have to worry about if they say something insulting. Even though I feel bad saying that but at least it’s one part of rap I don’t have to worry about. Anyway, I listened to the rap group and didn’t understand anything but loved the beat. So we’re all good.
