I’ve been thinking about the last time I made this post. I really enjoyed it but unfortunately I’ve only seen one out of six movies that I list on that post. I recently saw Jupiter Ascending after months of waiting patiently. The film came out in February after rescheduling it from the original release date last fall. Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum star in the movie and I have to say, I was happier with Mila and her role than I was with Channing as “Cain Wise.” I think it’s fair to say that we normally don’t see Mila Kunis in a LOT of action packed roles. She’s mostly in comedy films and that works well for her, but I thought throughout the film that she should be in more of these types of roles. However, overall the film was not good! I was so confused! It had some many twists and turns in the storyline that I thought my head was going to explode! I almost didn’t finish it because it was that bad!
The only reason why I wanted to do this post again was because in the other one it was mostly films coming out in January through April. So I thought it was time to do another of the next four months or so! I’ve seen a LOT of people saying good things about Jurassic World and my dad really wants to go see that, but he wants to make it a family thing. No thank you! My neighbor Sammy wants to see Magic Mike XXL and I’m all for that! I am worried about how I’ll like it though because I wasn’t much of a fan of the first film, but I’m pretty sure everybody else was like this too, they just masked their true feelings because of all the hot guys and their sexy dancing bodies! Can’t blame them of course!
Here are my list of the second half of the year!
Trainwreck (July 17th)
This movie has been on my list for a while. If I remember right, it was the whole reason why I wanted to write this post again! I have a love/hate relationship with Amy Schumer. She’s absolutely hilarious, but very unpredictable sometimes! I’ve also wondering that even though the trailer acts like it’ll be pretty funny and different from other romantic comedies, I’m still pretty worried about it. I’ve had a LOT of movies let me down in this category because they weren’t funny enough. So I’m not holding my breath here.
Fantastic Four (August 7th)
After hearing so much noise about this remake, it’s now on my list. I was a fan of the original four actors playing these roles. So I was a bit hesitant as everybody else was too. I also think that if you’re going to reboot a franchise with different actors, at least there be like a 7-10 year gap in between. It’s going to take a lot than just great visual effects to make me say “damn, this was better than the original movies!” This movie stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell.
Straight Outta Compton (August 14th)
I am really excited about this film and I can’t explain why, because I don’t remember my mom listening to N.W.A. in the 80/90’s, especially around my sister and I. She could have been a fan but probably thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to let two little girls listen about gun violence and all that. I’ve been seeing the trailer since the beginning of the year? Does that sound right? They hadn’t put the rating on it at that time, but it looked interesting! I like those types of films, biopics about music. Always have, so I’m hoping it’s as good as I hope it is!
The Perfect Guy (September 11th)
I saw this trailer one late night. I was going to watch a concert and I was forced to watch it because it didn’t have that “Skip Ad” button that will all love to see on certain commercials! I had seen somebody talking about this movie, if I remember right when it was released Michael Early became a trending topic on Twitter. This movie looks like it’s going to be very, very good and creepy at the same time. For some odd reason I want to see it! I love both Michael Early and Sanaa Lathan though, so that might be a factor there too!
Steve Jobs (October 9th)
I think the only reason why I want to see this film is because of Michael Fassbender. He’s really become one of my favorite actors lately. My only worry is that when The Social Network came out, I hated the idea of making a film about how the website Facebook was created. So I didn’t watch it, but everybody else did and so I feel like this might be the opposite. I’m really hoping I’m wrong though! Kate Winslet also stars in this film too!
