Meet Sammy!

Hey guys!

That is a face of seeing a really cool TV for the first time ever!

Today, we’re talking about the first gift that Blondie and Brandon got while at Petsmart as her early birthday present. Our family jokes with her all the time that if she sees a cat or any kind of animal on the road, she’ll want to take it home. Truth be told, everybody in my household has done it. Even my dad! He came home with a Beagle named Sydney, she was bred only for hunting, but she was basically left to have puppies instead. She was badly treated; when my dad saw her he knew he had to rescue her. This was before cell phones, so we didn’t know how bad shape she was in so my sister and I were already in the living room when we found out that he brought home a dog. This was our first time ever seeing a malnourished dog before and I was very sad for her, but my sister only saw the dog. They were actually best friends til the very end!

This is Sammy, he is a year and a half years old. The people that were holding the adoptions at Petsmart where trying their luck there and ended up finding my sister. She doesn’t even like going outside in the backyard whenever they come home for the day because she knows she’ll start crying because she misses her babies. So when she posted the picture of Sammy in the back of her or Brandon’s car going back home, my parents were less than pleased but weren’t exactly surprised about it either! We still have a total of nine cats at our house and they go out and adopt another cat, but I understood the reason because he’s not a kitten anymore, it would be harder for him to find a forever home.

He actually looks like the bigger version of our kitten Tavy! He’s a chunky boy too! Thankfully, all four of her cats are fixed because apparently Sammy has the hots for the only girl cat at their apartment: Toni. He seems to be doing good, loving life outside of the cage they had him in while at the humane society. Blondie and Brandon will take good care of him and he seems to be enjoying his adopted brothers Gru and Otis too! So that’s a good sign too!

I just want to know who named him “Sammy” because on the picture of him on Facebook has the caption “Monkey” and since we call our female cat Midget “Monkey” sometimes, I’ve been trying to figure out who thought of that name! I’m thinking maybe Brandon. He named Toni whenever they were walking around the backyard, Blondie named both “Gru” and “Tavy” which sound like her because she likes funky names like that.

So what do you think of Mr. Sammy? Isn’t he adorable?

From Ozzy To Bruce!

012

Hi! 🙂

This is one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken of our cats. This is of Ozzy, he is our third gray/white baby. My mom, Blondie and I still have arguments which of our females is his mother. I still think it’s Wren because he was one of last kittens that started coming around us and let us hold him and love on him. He didn’t start letting us my mom and I pet him until he got fixed. He and Tavy have really changed in personalities. They both liked to keep to themselves but if you come around them, they run away from you.

When my cousin Kristi came down for Christmas, my mom was in talks with her to take home of our kittens. She’s been trying to talk my Uncle David to do it too, he actually wants Nelly! They already have one of our other kittens Roxi (who was originally named “Winnie” and “Swifty”) but she is the equivalent of our dog ChiChi, she’s a spoiled princess and likes being the only cat in their semi. Anyways, my mom wanted Kristi to take our littlest baby Tavy, since it keeps getting colder at night. We think he’s too little to be outside. The plan was for her to take him home with her, but once she got up to the house everybody just kind of ran up to her and the one who don’t normally like people were the ones who were sitting on her lap!

Mr. Ozzy was one of the last kittens to come around her, like he was dragging behind while everybody else was rubbing up against our legs! She almost went home with Midget at first because she reminded her of a cat she had in the past, but Midget didn’t like when she tried to put her into the car. She tried to jump out of her arms twice! And then here came Ozzy, my mom already told her that big Grumpy was off limits because he’s basically one of my dad’s favorites, so Ozzy is like the mini verison of Grumpy and Stormy! She sat back down on the ramp and she laid on her lap. It kind of shocked us a bit! He’s very temdid of his surroundings and people in general. The fact that he let her hold him and put him in her car was very interesting! He liked the front seat apparently, Kristi texted me saying he was asleep within the first hour of driving in the 2-3 hours back home.

Now about his name. I think the only reason why he was called that was because it was an “O” name. I mean, we had “Otis” and “Oscar” this poor guy just stuck with a random name and sadly I think I’m the one who named him! After so many cats, we were just throwing names around to see what we liked for each one! When Kristi first brought him home, everybody there didn’t exactly like the name “Ozzy” and I don’t necessarily blame them! From what I was told, they were saying names out loud and Kristi’s friend said “Bruce” and he turned around and looked at him and the name stuck. Bruce is doing well, he likes being inside and I haven’t heard of any fights between him and Roxi yet. Oh, and if I’m correct about Wren being his mom, then Roxi would be his aunt! Wren and Roxi were from the same litter!

What is the perfect name for a cat? What do you think of switching names on your pets?

Life Lately | 4 Months

11889452_10205032321627926_684931373384959931_n

Howdy!

On Monday, you’ll be getting my normal summary of what I’ve been watching and listening this month. It’s been a little while since I’ve given you an update on our babies! We are not very good at keeping track of their birthdays, we barely know who is from which litter at this point! The newest kittens seem to have been born at the same time, back in April. So all of them are four months old! We recently found out that all of them are boys except for our calico, Toni. Majority of you know that we have two black/white kitties and three gray/white ones, well one of them didn’t have a name. I’m still puzzled why we never named him, but before we found out he was actually a boy I had come up with his name, it’s Felix. At first nobody liked it. Blondie still calls him “FiFi” to be honest with you! That is the second kitten that I’ve successfully named. I say this because usually somebody hates the ones I come up with and changes them.

I tried my best not to get attached to these kittens. When it was just Bootsie and Midget’s litters, it was a small group and in the beginning we had homes for most of them… and then Wren came around with her three and we only gave one kitten away. When I realized that there was no hope for dad and we weren’t going to be giving any more of them away I started to come around more and more. I honestly love little Otis, but he is my mom’s baby! So I can’t exactly bond with him like I have with Stormy. I’ve been around a couple of the others but they never seem to like my feet or wheelchair(s) except for Mr. Felix. My mom recently brought him into my room the other day while I was on the floor. At this point I already had Ozzy and Otis. I felt a bit spoiled to have 3 different kittens in my room in one day! He came in and it was completely different from the other two, he was loving the one-on-one attention. We chatted. (I was blessed with sneezing and meowing like a cat at birth!) He kept rubbing up against me and climbing up my back and hands to reach to bump heads. It was so sweet! Blondie said that means they recognize you as “family.” You learn something new everyday!

Yesterday afternoon, I went on the floor because I was a little bored. My sister was doing her laundry in the bathroom and I knew she would be distracted so she wouldn’t hear me open my door and I started to scoot out into the small hallway, waited a bit until she was done and as soon as she turned off that light I shouted “boo” and she jumped right out of her skin. I couldn’t help myself! Everybody loves scaring the shit out of me, thought it would be some good revenge! However my ass is screwed for later! Oh well! Anyways, I scooted into the living room and got my kisses from ChiChi and I went into the kitchen, all of the babies were laying by the door. My mom opened up the door and let me scoot outside, the cats didn’t know what to do with somebody already down at their level. I had Tubby, Felix and Stormy–all my babies–around me purring and growling at one another! All I kept thinking was, “please don’t jump on me to attack him!” After probably 20-25 minutes I went back inside because I kept getting bit by mosquitoes and they were bored/scared of me.

The real reason why I was on the floor, surprisingly wasn’t cat related and no, I’m not lying! Last week I had a mini breakdown. It’s August and through the beginning of October I am usually very aware of my emotions. I get so scared I’ll crawl back into my depression and I’ll never want to come out again. Leave it to me to have a breakdown just before my mom was to go to bed because she had to go to work that morning. I say I had a “mini” breakdown but it might’ve seemed like a big one to my mom since she hasn’t seen me like that for a while! I have a lot of frustrations and nobody knows how to help and I just feel like it’s no use to say something. I just keep my mouth shut and then this happens… it sucks because I honestly hate making people feel like crap but I also feel like they give me a lot of excuses nowadays and I don’t want to hear those types of things. I believe actions speak louder than words and I want something that’s going to motivate me and make me feel better about how my life is going! I don’t like hearing the same things over and over again.

One of the things my mom suggested I get back into doing was something that I loved to do when I was little. When my nana worked out in her garden – my dad too! They would always need mulch or what we used, tore up newspapers. It was something that my sister and I used to do a lot to help out! Apparently I was the only one who seemed to really enjoy it because even when it was autumn/winter I would still do it! I remember it being a good therapeutic way to get my aggressions out. So after being out with the babies, I asked my mom had any used newspapers. I went back in my room and she laid out two small stacks of them. I shut the door and put on Butcher Babies and all my problems were gone! Well, almost! Once I get the rest shredded they will be. 😉

I hope everybody has been enjoying their weekend!

Life Lately | Painted Daisies

113

Howdy!

I wasn’t going to do a “Life Lately” post for this month but I decided on it last minute after my sister went out last week and got some pictures with our new babies!! I find it weird that you’re getting this post concerning my life right now and next week I have my “Seen & Heard” of May. You get two reviews of what I’ve been up to in two weeks! How lucky can you get?

Well, I don’t know about you but I had a good Mother’s Day weekend. My mom had Saturday off but was on call all day Sunday and it rained/storm off and on for four days straight! My mom let me go outside Saturday afternoon. It had stopped raining and I kept hearing my sister say that Otis has been adventuring out from under the porch lately. I went out and nobody wanted to come out, but Stormy (who never wants anything to do with me unless he’s locked in my room) was very lovable to me! He came up to me twice and Midget licked my toe so I thought it was a good trip out. A little bit after that, my mom came out asking if I wanted to go our neighbors for a bit and I said “yes” and I went back inside but not without fighting the lazy bums blocking the door in front of me. We went over there and I got to see little Lily-Mae and she wasn’t in a playful mood but she did enjoy my newly painted toes! She and her mommy left after we got there and I got to see Chevy’s new toy truck. All of the adults are still trying to figure out if I could actually sit it in! She was in a semi happy/cranky mood. She perked up after they brought over the no-bake cookies. She and Sammy kept feeding them to me. I really enjoy my one-on-one time with both Chevy and her mommy Sammy. It’s kind of my normal “get out” thing. I don’t party like most my age but I’ll sit and chat about guys and their stupid decisions and tease a two-year old any day!

On Sunday, I didn’t write a big statement on any of my social media profiles like everybody usually does. My sister wrote hers on her instagram account, even though our mom doesn’t have one!! I didn’t say anything on Facebook for anybody because it’s became too much of a trend to post that kind of stuff on there. My mom knows I love her. It was weird though because on Thursday afternoon, my sister was in a big cleaning mood and that only meant one thing: Batman was heading down! She’s going to make the perfect housewife one day! He was coming down because he had a job interview down here and I’m happy to say he got the job! He stayed until Sunday afternoon, but he did something really sweet for my mom on Saturday. They went into town and when they came back he bought her a bouquet of different colored daisies!! It was the sweetest thing ever and totally surprised her!!

Last year, I remember texting my sister like the day before wondering what in the world we were going to do. This year, when my mom went to tuck me in (shut up!) for bed she’s the one that told me that Blondie and I had something planned. I was in the dark the whole time. I still don’t know what she got besides the card she had me write in! However, around 7am I was wide awake and my dad came in fully dressed like he’d been out and about for a while. He came in with a balloon and he said “here you can give this to your mom when she wakes up.” He was asleep before mom tucked me into bed so he couldn’t have known about everything unless my mom had something about it to him beforehand and she was asleep when we were awake so there. I felt so much better because knowing I didn’t have anything to give her besides a hug really bothered me. I gave her a hug anyways and didn’t drive her as crazy as I usually do on a daily basis so that was my gift to her! It stormed off and on again and so we didn’t go out that evening. We stayed inside watching Duggar specials that my sister apparently found on TLC. I cried like a baby from the middle to end of the “Decade Of Duggar Births” special.

This past week was pretty boring, I went to my nana’s house on Thursday and talked my head off. There are some days where I really do feel bad for my nana whenever I need time to vent. She recently got a new phone so she’s been attempting to learn how to use it and it was really weird trying to figure it out myself. I didn’t have anybody take a picture of my outfit of the day, but I wore my Of Mice & Men shirt that says “You’re Not Alone” on it. I think it’s becoming a favorite of my nana’s for some odd reason. I also had on my skull leggings I got from Body Central many moons ago. I’ve been slowly getting my TT posts done! I’m pretty proud of myself on how fast I’m getting them finished and scheduled. I’ve had to take some countries off my original list like Finland, because I don’t know any other acts from there. I have added a couple of different countries that I didn’t include last year so that’s a big plus!

So here are some pictures of our little kittens and a familiar face that decided to come around again! Hope everybody is enjoying their week! Oh, and the babies are all a month old now!

Spot the kitten!
Spot the kitten!

Here Kitty Kitty!

gw57b9zmt496mhnevzhbnunlq6v02lc2

If you follow me on both my personal Facebook and Twitter, you might’ve seen a few pictures of our new kittens! It’s really nice that I follow a lot of cat lovers on both accounts. Everybody loves baby animals too! I’ve talked about these little boogers in a previous blog post called New Kittens but recently my mom and sister decided they needed to get better pictures of them. We have a total of six kittens and if you didn’t read my last post I might have to explain the date(s) of when they were born. I say “dates” as in we had two female cats Bootsie and her daughter Midget were both pregnant at the same time, we didn’t actually notice Midget’s belly until like late March. Bootsie, you know very quickly that she’s expecting because of her mood swings and huge belly! Midget actually gave birth first on April 9th and Bootsie had hers several days later on the 15th. Midget’s kittens are definitely smaller in size, also she lost two babies in the first few days after they were born. Bootsie’s babies are massive! Both mommies nurse all six of them in the cage! A few days after I had written that post, my mom had mentioned that the little orange kitten had its eyes open.

Something that’s a bit different from our previous litters is that we actually have homes for majority of them. My mom has been basically shipping them off to her friends from work. One is actually taking two babies and a mommy cat! Of course, my sister and her boyfriend are taking two of the babies: including Bootsie and Bear Bear whenever they find a pet-friendly apartment. They have already picked out names for them, I don’t know if I had mentioned them in the last post, but they did select “Penelope” and “Tony” and you can clearly tell who named who. Now my sister has another name up her sleeve: Groo (grew) and I don’t even know where she came up with it. And you all thought I was crazy with names! In January, we had to put down our first family cat Oliver. It was very sad for all of us, but it was pretty bad for my mom because he was a present for her birthday from my dad years ago. Well, she’s been hoping for YEARS that Bootsie would give her a little ginger baby, but no luck. So leave it to Midget to help out. We still don’t know what sex they are at the moment. So our little ginger baby will either be called Otis or Olivia.

I’ve got to say I don’t feel so attached to them this time around. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t been able to spend time with them but I feel like my baby Stormy is enough for me. Speaking of Stormy, he and his fluffy brother Bear-Bear should be a year old by now! Stormy is definitely smaller in size than his older brother Grumpy but he’s one of the sweetest! Okay, so let’s get to posting the newest additions pictures!
