Favorite Romantic Comedies!

Untitled

Hi 🙂

I hope you’re not getting tired of these movie posts because I’ve got a few others that I’d like to discuss sometime in the future! As you might’ve seen in my last movie post, I added Sweet Home Alabama as one of my favorite chick flicks, which is what it is, but after searching around for my favorite romantic comedies I started to think that maybe I should have left it out and put it on this list instead. And then I had another thought, that maybe if I hadn’t added it, would I even think of doing this post?

I don’t honestly like the lovey-dovey films. It’s just not in my DNA to believe in love at first sight, at least not with people. Blogs, music, and books are totally different for me. You can tell a lot about those things with whatever cover is on the front. People can be very difficult to read I think. So honestly I have a love/hate relationship with the romantic comedies because there’s a lot of love-y scenes that usually make me want to barf, but yeah there are some that tug at my heart and I end liking it a lot more than I had planned on and that is why I decided to give you this list.

The Parent Trap (1998 – Natasha Richardson, Dennis Quaid, Lindsay Lohan)

I actually watched this recently. I hadn’t watched it in a really long time and so the fact that I was wanting to watch it one afternoon was a mystery to me. Surprisingly, I still remember quite a bit of this film.

I think some of my favorite scenes are really when Annie and Hallie start playing tricks on each other at camp. I mean, the last one in Annie’s cabin is flat out hilarious and something I thought was weird was the fact whenever they show the scene inside the cafeteria and you see those pictures of the previous camp goers and then they have this last prank of these girls sneaking around putting shaving cream and honey on some of these girls, I thought how does one sleep through all of that?! Because I’m picturing loud creaks everytime the girls walked along the floors.

I did like the chemistry between Elizabeth and Nick, they seemed genuine and I loved the scene whenever Liz decides to take Hallie back to California and exchange her with Annie again, because she literally becomes this crazy woman! She’s nervous about seeing her ex-husband and the girls make up this big scheme to get their parents back together. The final prank to get Meredith out of the picture is funny as hell! See, I’d never be that clever to be able to do that to a person, but then again I’m naturally a fun, loving and warm type of person! I’ve got family members laughing at that sentence right now I know I do!

Look Who’s Talking (1989 – Kirstie Alley, John Travolta, Bruce Willis)

I really love this movie! I’m still kicking myself for removing it on my DVR about two years ago because leave it to my mother to delete it on her side. And she wonders why every once in a while I go and delete some of her stuff. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve deleted Fifty Shades Of Grey! I think this is truly one of my best movies and I’ve watched a LOT of movies over the years! I can watch it in the morning, late afternoons when my energy is getting low and late at night when I can’t sleep.

I don’t really like Bruce Willis, but I absolutely love him voicing Mikey. I think he is freaking hilarious! I’ve always wanted to know what babies and toddlers are really thinking about the people that are around them 24/7 and he brought every thought and emotion in each scene, because babies don’t know any better and he manged to figure out what to say in each section so perfect! I wonder if he ever ab-libed any of those scenes?

The Back-Up Plan (2010 – Jennifer Lopez, Alex O’Loughlin)

Every once in a while, I’ll see a trailer for a film and fall completely in love with it. This was one of those movies!

I am a sucker of anything with Jennifer Lopez in it, so it was only natural to get into this film I think. I thought the story was very adorable and made me wonder about my future.  I’d love to have a family of my own, I’ve wanted that for majority of my life so watching this woman have like a deadline that if she didn’t find her true love by a certain age that she was going to do her back-up plan and basically go to a sperm bank and create that family that she wants. It’s such a sweet and funny movie!

Legally Blonde (2001 – Reese Witherspoon, Matt Davis, Luke Wilson)

Years ago, I want to say a month or two before we left so I could have my surgeries, my aunt on my dad’s side gave me Legally Blonde and it was seriously the most played movie besides The Little Rascals! My roommate Shelby and I were freaking obsessed with it! The nights before our surgeries we would eat chips and salsa and watch Legally Blonde. When we were lying in bed recovering, we would have portable televisions and VCR on a table and we’d watch it as part to comfort us in those times!

My mom and I can STILL quote the entire film! We both have our favorite scenes and characters! We solely have a chihuahua because of Bruiser and when Matt Davis appeared on The Vampire Diaries in 2011, I was in denial because I knew I recognized him but I couldn’t place him in anything I had watched recently, but once I showed my mom, she was like that’s “Warner!” and so if it wasn’t for her I would have forgotten about that! She actually had a hard time watching Charlie Sheen’s Anger  Management during it’s first season because Selma Blair was in it and she had a difficult time not seeing her as the “rigid bitch” in LB!

What are some of your favorite romantic comedies? Is there a genre of film (besides horror!) you’d like me to talk about in a future post? Let me know!

What’s My Favorite Movie?

15781508_1340268886037438_7578790859840904459_n

Howdy!

You can blame Shona for these next batch of movie posts. She’s been doing a 30 Day Challenge on her blog that’s all about movies! I’ve decided to do parts of it. I cannot do all of it in one month, but I have decided to do maybe 2-4 a month and see how it goes!

It is actually very hard to figure out what movie would be my favorite because I’ve seen so many! I thought at first that maybe it would be Back To The Future but I thought I would be kidding myself if I didn’t say, Michael Bay’s Bad Boys. I know I’ve talked about it a couple of times in the last two months but I can’t help it!

If you read what I got for Christmas last week, you know that I got both films in one from my presents! It was a nice surprise since I screamed because I was so happy! I haven’t got to watch the second yet and I even have it on my DVR but I don’t think I can delete it off of there yet… I’m a weirdo!

will-smith

Why is my favorite?

That’s an interesting question, mostly because it’s a great mix of action and comedy in a film. I think Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are funny guys and I like how they can be dead serious and then flat out hilarious a minute later. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve watched the first and I know VH1 has been playing it for the past year but I cannot watch it without both swear words and when they skip key scenes! I mean, I just can’t do it!

Best scene!

I think how they start off with the entire movie is genius.

Marcus (Martin Lawrence) is eating what looks like McDonald’s in Mike’s (Will Smith) new car and as they are bickering about how he’s eating and Marcus complaining about not having any cupholders. As they are fighting back and forth, Marcus spills his fries all along the passenger seat which prompts Mike to pull over to the side of the road, take off his sunglasses and just rips into Marcus.

As this whole part is going down a couple of thugs pull up behind them and use a girl to distract them as they make their way up to their doors and of course this trick instantly grabs Mike’s attention and then the guys go up to their windows and pull their guns on them forcefully asking them to step outside of the car. Marcus and Mike try to talk to them nicely but in the mist of that, they go back into bickering to each other which distracts the thugs and once they have had their fun with the two baboons they pull their guns on them and arrest them!

Tell me how that’s not a brilliant introduction? I mean, not only is it funny but the ending was just great! The thugs thought they were a pair of crazies! Nope!

What is your favorite movie ever?

Favorite Halloween Candy!

10177942_634270400015880_1458517185019355307_n

Howdy!

This post was inspired by a fellow blogger friend of mine, Missamrunaway and her blog post ideas for autumn! We are getting ever so closer to one of my favorite holidays: HALLOWEEN! I’ll be honest I loved Halloween as a kid and I love it as an adult, but hated it as a teenager and that was probably because when you’re a teenager you think you’re too old to dress up and go around your neighborhood asking for candy. When I was 21 though, I snapped right out of that and somehow convinced my mom to let us go around our grandparent’s neighborhood as it’s kind of out in the open. I think my mom kind of got a kick of the fact that her daughters wanted to dress up and go trick or treating again. I was a punky ballerina and Blondie was a witch. We walked around with our cousin Kristi too and we all managed to come home with a fairly good amount of candy for all four of us!

I don’t remember going out a lot, because our Halloweens have always been really cold! One year, we lived out along the road with barely any neighbors and it was also pouring down rain that night too, so our mom came up with this idea. She knew how bad we wanted to have candy, so she decided to take an idea from our Easter traditions like hiding the eggs for us to find, but instead of finding painted eggs we had to find the candy that was hidden in our living room. Surprisingly I enjoyed this a lot better because I was always so shy to go up to somebody’s door and say trick or treat. This only lasted for one year but I thought it was pretty clever for my mom to come up with it.

I’m getting a little off subject.. I happen to like a LOT of different candies. I’m a little bit like my dad in a way because I love a lot more fruity/sour candies like he does, but my true love is basically chocolate! I’m going to list everything from favorite to least favorite.

Nestle’s Crunch Bar
I’ve always loved a good crunch bar. From a young kid, we’d get those lunchables from the store and I always the fact that inside the pizza ones there wa a bite size crunch bar. It was hard as a rock, but it was delicious!

Dum Dum Pops
I love suckers! Especially these types of suckers. When my sister and I were kids and would sit in the backseat while our mom and nana would go to the bank, they’d give us each a sucker! We lived for these days I swear! My favorite flavors are: cherry, watermelon, orange, Club Soda, raspberry, and sour apple!

Creme Savers

I came across these a long time ago!! I’ve never been a big fan of the flavor strawberry and cream together. However, either they had a commercial with these babies and I decided to go for it, but I think I think somebody else must’ve shared one with me and ever since I was a little obsessed! I’ve tried to get my mom to find them on CVS a few times over the years but I don’t think anybody sells them anymore.

Trolli Sour Gummi Worms
I love both kinds of gummi worms, but I think the sour ones are my ultimate favorite! I remember getting them as part of my birthday present from one of my favorite evening nurses at Shriner’s and I’ve never been able to get them for my birthday, at least I don’t think so!

Smarties
These are another childhood favorite that I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of, they’re soft and suble. They’re weren’t sour or too sweet, just perfect the way they are.

Hershey’s Kisses:
This is another childhood favorite of mine, but I’d rather have the dark chocolate than the milk chocolate. Blame it on my papaw! It’s his fault, he’s the one that converted me. If I remember correctly he’s also the one that introduced us to the Kisses too! I could be wrong though!

Jolly Ranchers
My dad and I are a big of both life savers and jolly ranchers. I think it’s because they’re a little bit more sour and since their rectangle shaped they kind of last a little bit longer too!

Kit Kat
I am such a fan of Kit Kat’s. I the soft crunch of it the most. I don’t really remember how my love for it started but it might have something to do with as kids my mom would steal all of the Reece’s out of our bags before we even got a chance to eat one and Kit Kat’s were the next best thing?

Starburst
This is another favorite between my dad and I. This is also my go-to while we’re at the theaters! My favorite flavors are cherry, raspberry and lemon!

Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups
I do love Reece’s. I can’t have a bunch of them because there’s chance my mother will steal the bag! I love the whole thing of peanut butter and chocolate together, it’s amazing!

Twix
I love Twix, this was another alternative of a Snickers because I can no longer have those. I actually love the cookie underneath chocolate and caramel. I recently tried the peanut butter one and I have to say, the production company ruined the candy bar! It’s disgusting!

York
I’ll be honest, I haven’t had one of these in a long time but they’re still good. This is another favorite flavor combination of mine: chocolate and mint. This one was started my grandparents on my dad’s side.

M&M’s
I like M&M’s, but mostly the mini’s and I recently tried the crispy kind. It’s like they have a mini version of a rice krispy treat inside of them! I think those were better than any other kind! Except maybe the mint ones!

Ferrero Rocher
These are dangerous little beasts! I had these for the first time either last winter or the year before. One of the women my mom works with offered a three pack to us and I decided to take them. She fed me the first two and OMG! It was so amazing! I really like hazelnuts and chocolate together. I really need to get a package of them soon!

Butterfinger Bites
Do they still make these? I remember the late 90’s I was obsessed with these! And then they messed with the recipe and I’ve had a hard time finding that love for them again.

What is your favorite candy as a kid and/or adult?

The Commercials Of Super Bowl Sunday

It’s the day every Super Bowl fanatics everywhere hate. It’s Monday, but it’s not exactly early anymore. Thank god! I was smart and slept in a little this morning. I don’t know about everybody else but that was an interesting game. If you don’t know by now, which if you don’t know yet I would be surprised. New York Giants won last night. Yes, I actually watched the game, but I had a whole another reason why I had to watch. I heard the commercials get better good when the Super Bowl is on. I only wanted to watch one commercial. Just one. I had to wait to watch it until the beginning of the fourth quater. It’s surprising what I would do for certain people. Especially musicial bands. Besides that one commercial I ended up liking a few others too. I think I ended up liking five of them. I was very happy after the one I wanted was over because I changed the channel, but I ended up going back.

I went back to make sure I didn’t miss The Voice. My favorite show is back! Well this is one out of like six shows that I miss that are still on break. Dancing With The Stars comes back next month. So I’m very happy about that, but anyways, watching The Voice last night was almost draining because I was so tired and after it was over I didn’t go to bed until probably around 1am. It was a good first episode of the second season. Adam and Blake looked freaking amazing, but not as amazing as somebody did during the infamous commercials. It’s very surprising how Football is such a big male’s sport and with these kind of games about half of all of them have girls in the commercials, but finally the women got a good commercial. I know I loved it. So I promised a few people I’d post my favorite commercials and the one I wanted to watch out of the all. Enjoy!
