Nolan’s Nursery Tour!

Howdy!

Well… he’s here!

We all thought he’d either arrive the day before but instead she went into labor at like 10am Tuesday and had him at almost one o’clock Wednesday morning! I’m hoping to actually write another blog post in a couple of days and that’ll have more of the stuff that happened during both labor and delivery, so you’l just have to be a little patient for me, because I’m both visiting and trying to find my sleep on that of it.

Today though, I am taking you through Nolan’s room! My mom and I went over to their apartment the first weekend of the month to help her organize it, because between the first baby shower, Brandon’s family also came down a few days later, the room itself looked like it exploded! Luckily, by the time we came over Blondie and Brandon had tried to clean up most of it, so not only could you see the floor but it had the makings of a really cute room.

This is how it looked before any of us went through it…

It had been a long time since we went over to their apartment, well, I can’t say that, because before heading to the villas to start her baby shower, my mom did go inside to see if there was anything they needed help with so she got to see Chipper and the cats. She swore up and down she didn’t hold Otis, but I didn’t believe her! So when we both came through the door, Chipper was SO excited! He was jumping up and down and whining, he’s never done before, and the cats were even happy to see us. I had both Samuel and Otis sniffing and checking me out.

We “helped” clean the rest of Nolan’s clothes, I attempted to fold onesies on the foot stool of the rocking chair, and that was a disaster of itself! I can fold rags and large towels, but me and baby clothes are apparently another story! The only thing I was able to do was after they were washed, I turned them out again because I guess they have to be inside out to get them clean, which as I thought about it, I didn’t think that was so smart because how are you going to know the stain is actually gone without flipping them around again? I thought that was a stupid idea, but that’s me for you.

34208077_985313604978634_3722926065044160512_nBoth Chipper and Gru were the ones who were basically attached to Blondie’s hip as we were messing around in his room. Chipper just wanted attention and kept going in and out of the room, and since my wheelchair isn’t big enough to block the door frame, he was able to go in and out freely. Gru, however, sat on the rocking chair with Blondie for the longest time! He’s the one that likes to lick and shove people over, and there was literally no room for the two of them on that chair, so she gave up and since he wanted to lay out and sleep, she put him in the pack n play. Don’t worry, Brandon’s Saints’s blanket was underneath him the whole time!

We didn’t move a lot of stuff, they had the dressers and crib where they won’t be in the way or anything. It was mostly putting up his clothes in the already crowded closet and putting up the pack n play as he really won’t need it this early, he’ll mostly be in the swing (he doesn’t like it!), which goes faster than we all were really comfortable with! And they also have the bassinet in their bedroom, that Toni enjoys sleeping underneath I guess. The only things that mom did scoot over was the rocking chair and trash can to the other side of the changing table!

The bed situation was pretty hilarious though. As you will see in a bit, Nolan won’t need anymore stuffed animals as the whole thing was covered with different ones when we got there! You had Blondie’s love of both rottweilers and sloths on full display along with Brandon’s childhood Pokemon characters too! The crib, stroller, bassinet, and car seat were the first things they were given back in December through February I think! Everything else has been from either Aunt Cindy or Brandon’s family.

So I think that’s it, that’s all we really did there. Who know little over a week later, he’d actually be here already. Thank god, everything’s clean and ready for him!

New Apartment!

16174589_722118071298190_2546788143199940110_n

Howdy!

Don’t get too happy, I didn’t move out or anything! My sister and future brother-in-law did in fact move out of their first apartment and into this massive beast! It’s become a tradition now to blog about their new whereabouts and so that’s what I’m doing today!

If I remember correctly, Blondie has said back in the summer that their lease for their first apartment was up in November, but they had been looking for a new place I think towards the end of July or beginning of August. They needed to find a place that allowed all of their fur babies. When they moved into their first apartment, they only had two cats: Gru (grew) and Tonif (tone-if) and by the start of the winter, mom had to give up her only orange kitty Otis because he was pretty scrawny. By the start of 2016, they had adopted a new cat Samuel and then at the end of March, they grabbed a pit bull puppy from our neighbors and named him Chipper.

They managed to find a nice place just outside of town where they live, it’s close to where she works at now. One of the joys about this new apartment is that it’s all one level, whereas the other place was upstairs and I never got to visit. I was really bummed about it, because it was my sister’s first real place away from our parents that wasn’t a dorm and I couldn’t come and sleep over. Now I can because there is a ramp into the sidewalk! It’s a little exciting for all of us, not just me!

Now for the reason why I called it a “massive beast”. The living room itself is the biggest space I’ve seen in a while! It remains me of a house we used to live in when we were kids, because the living room was both large and it had wooden floors too! You should see Chipper running on it, it’s actually pretty hilarious! He just slides all over the place! They have an entertainment center, their couch and coffee table but it all still leaves a chunk of space left over; they could build another room that’s how much room they have still in their living room!

Unfortunately, these pictures don’t really give it justice.

Even after getting all of their furniture into the place, it still very space-y! However, if we stay around the part where we live for Blondie’s bachelorette party, at least we’d all have a place to crash for the night. We’d just need more beds because I’m betting nobody wants to sleep on a hard wood floor! I definitely don’t want to!

One the opposite side is their TV and entertainment center plus the doors for the already built-in rooms. Their bedroom is on the left, where Brandon’s “man cave” is on the right side. When we came over a few days after they finished settled in, he told us of his plans for this room and I thought it was pretty funny and a little adorable! I’d share pictures of both rooms, but the two that my sister had posted were messy as crap, so that’s why I’ve left them out of this post!

When you fist “enter” this next section of their apartment. You have two doors that are a fair distance from each other. One is where the radiator is located and the other is the bathroom. The bathroom is an accessible bathroom as it has rails on the back of the head and side of the toilet, which is another plus for my sister and I!

Next let’s move on to their kitchen. When my mom showed me the pictures of the inside, I thought the kitchen was really big too, but it’s honestly not that large compared to the living room. I think it was the flooring that gave you the illusion that it’s a little bigger, but when we came over, I realized it’s more like a kitchenette as there’s not that much space between the stove to the fridge!

As you can see, there is a door in between the cabinets in the back of the pictures, that is their pantry, which is fairly nice small room itself! They’re probably happy to have such a place to hide all of the cat and dog food!

There you have it! The twin’s house tour is complete! Now I can officially talk about the day my mom and I went to go visit them for her birthday!

I have never been around their cats for a whole year, almost 2 years! I also haven’t met Samuel before, so I had memories of our old inside cat Oliver, running away from strangers entering the house, but these cats didn’t do that! They’re used to mom, because when Blondie and Brandon leave for a week, she and dad would go to the apartment and check up on them. So they all know about them, but again, they hadn’t been around me yet. I was expecting them to run away, not come up to me, but Samuel was the first one to come up to me. He is known as the “biter” according to dad, so the fact he was being a sweetie pie was really freaking me out!

It’s actually been a long time for me to be around inside cats. I almost ran over three out of four of them! Samuel isn’t like the others, Toni, Gru, and Otis are familiar with my wheelchairs because they were from our liters. Otis is Tavis’ brother, which explains the smallness in body size, but Gru and Toni are Bootsie’s kittens I think!

I was told that Otis is their cuddler, and he is just that considering mom and I weren’t in that apartment that long and she had scooped him up and proceeded to hold him most of the time. We came bearing pizza (sorry Uncle David) as a birthday present and she had to put him down, but he thought my lap would be a good alternative so he just climbed aboard and crashed on my legs for a bit! After getting Coke spilled on his head he decided my lap wasn’t working out very well and moved to my chest. He climbed up my armrests and left elbow and rubbed himself all over my face and I’ve never felt more loved by an animal until that moment! My own boys (Tavis and Stormy) haven’t done that before! 😦

Chipper is normally berserk whenever he comes over to the house, so to see him actually calm was a strange thing to witness! I mean, he wasn’t like totally zone out from us, because he kept trying to lick my face and give me hugs but whenever he would go for this, my wheelchair would move backwards and freak all of us out! And I had broken my seat belt a few days before so I wasn’t buckled in and that didn’t make us feel good! So next time, I’m just going to get on the floor so he can get his lovings too!

What do you think of the new place? Do you have any suggestions they can do with the extra space in their living room?

Five Sentence Fiction: Companion

NewFSFBadge-1

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.  PS: I did last week’s prompt but forgot to post it on Lillie’s site. If you want to read my mini story of RUINS click here.

This week: COMPANION

The rain poured down onto the ground, refreshing the light brown-green grass and dry sidewalks, people brought out their umbrellas as to others like me just stayed inside all day long and fell asleep listening to it.

When thunder cracked in the velvet blue sky, Rocco hid underneath the table; he usually likes to travel with me but lately as the different seasons would come, his likeness of spring, summer, and fall have changed.

He cries and whimpers until the storm stops, when the loud noises stop he comes out of his hiding place to look outside the window near the door, he watches the rain drop onto the street and his eyes follow each one.

I was bored throughout the entire time the storm came through, but leave it to a dog to find some adventure in a small window of time, I was almost tempted to go to sleep on the couch like every sob case who’s first day of vacation was ruined.

Rocco’s tail waved back and forth, fast as ever, he started barking to go outside but I didn’t even know if it would thunder again; I sat up from my spot and unlatched the door to open it and he went flying out of the room and stayed on the wet sidewalk chasing after the raindrops up above him, at least he found some paradise in today.

The Ultimate Dog

I am an all lover of animals, except for Spiders and Snakes. I hate them with a great passion. Those just scare the living shit out of me. Sorry, but I am more of a dog lover than a cat lover. Cats don’t mind as well as a dog would. Cats like to sleep more than as a dog would be more active. I am just a dog lover.

We have our first small dog. Before ChiChi we had Sydney and Chance. Chance died in 2008 because she had a brain tumor. We got ChiChi around the time before Chance died, so she learned a few things from the both of them. Chance was kind of old so she slept around and even though she was a Pit Bull, she was so loveable around people. ChiChi is that way after she gets use to you.

Our other dog Sydney was a Beagle and she died a few months ago. Sydney taught her to garud the house. Whenever somebody gave up to the door and knocked they barked so loud they could break the living room windows. Not really, but they were close sometimes. ChiChi is our only dog in the house. She is a short haired Chiwuawua. She has her drama queen days and she’s got my dad wrapped around her little paw. After Chance died, dad pretty much fell in love with ChiChi. As much as I love ChiChi, I still think Yorkies are the most cutest puppies ever!

One of these days I will own a Pit Bull, Husky (my favorite dog breed), Australian Shepard, Pug, and Yorkie. Those are my favorite breeds out of them all. I love the Husky and Australian Shepard for their coats and eyes. I love all eyes. Dogs eyes are so bright. Especially the blue eyed dogs. Chance had a Brindle coat and I have always loved Pit Bulls with coats like that. I like Huskies with both Gray and Red coats. The ones with the red coats are blue eyed than the rest from what I’ve seen. All this talking about dogs is making me want to watch Lady and the Tramp. Not even kidding right now.

2 + 3 = 5 Hours Of Sleep.

I’m running on very little sleep. Which is five hours total. I’m doing pretty good of keeping myself awake. I went to bed until 1am then got up two hours later. I stayed up til 7:34am and went back to bed and then got up again and forced myself to stay awake when I got up at 10am. Do I regret it? A little bit. Even though I’m running on 5 hours of sleep I don’t feel as bad as when I do when I sleep all day.

This picture is adorable. The saying, “sleeping like a baby” does not happen to me. My nana had a book at her house and it had a bunch of facts and other things, and one word that I asked my mom about was, “Insomia” and if I had it. She said, not me but maybe my sister. I could see that but both of our sleeping habits are messed up. I hate it because I like getting up early and stayin up and going to bed around 9 or 10pm. Now that it’s like this, I’m surprise I have control over my eyelids.

I told my friend Maddy on Twitter about my sleeping habits and especially last night’s and I told her if my tweets were about things you didn’t understand it was my brain giving out on me. It’s Monday so I have three shows on tonight. The Closer at 9, Tia & Tamera at 10pm and Bad Girls Club at 11pm. I haven’t seen both Tia & Tamera and BGC’s episodes from last week so I doubt I’ll be able to keep myself awake that long to even what these shows. I’m screwed if I do have guts to stay up. I’m a trooper.
