Howdy!

How are you all today! Hope you’ve been enjoying the day! 🙂

Today I am doing my first “Nails Of The Month” post of 2017! I had given my toes a break from the polish for almost two months. I felt they needed a break to breathe and after I started my physical therapy last month within the first week, I couldn’t take it anymore I had to put something on them!

According to my nana, the Wet n Wild polishes are VERY strong (smell wise) and I had to resort to trying out my polishes given by my Aunt Laurie and Uncle Mike, the brand is called Secret Lace and they are in these tiny bottles, you can read the post of all of them here! I thought the blue one was a cute color to use, since it is still winter where I am, despite what the weather and birds seem to think!

“Teal” by Secret Lace:

The color is more of teal because it changes to a green in different lighting. It’s naturally shine-y, considering it came with a matching blue glitter bottle! It’s actually better as a stand alone. It has its own glittery notes too. The first night I had them, I finally figured out what the actual color reminded me of, and it’s been a long time since I’ve watched The Little Mermaid movies but I kept thinking of their fins and most randomly was the children’s book Rainbow Fish, because of the glitter in the bottle!

As you can see from the pictures below, I decided to go all one color this time around. I’m pretty big at having four toes one color and one toe in a different shade, but I couldn’t make up my mind which one so I left it and I actually like it! If I were to use this one again, I’d probably pair it with a bold red, now my nana has two different shades of red. A nice rose-y red and the other is a dark red, but I’d definitely use the ruby red color for this!

So what do you think of my nails for March? Yay or nay?

Baby Shower!

14589766_10210806157335714_8412130877902100004_o

Howdy!

So, we’re getting down to the wire now! Well sort of, Kristi still has a couple more months to go, but usually after you get the baby shower out of the way things seem to go a little faster in the pregnancy! I like how I say that and yet I have never been pregnant or anything, so I might need to shut up or I’ll have my cousin coming after me!

In the previous post I had mentioned that my family (mom, sister, nana and myself) wouldn’t be able to go up north to the baby shower for multiple reasons. My mom had to work and my sister had made plans to go to Ohio with Brandon’s family that weekend (we had to dogsit Chipper that Saturday and we’re never doing that again!) but like I told Kristi, we were definitely there in spirit! I definitely enjoyed seeing all of the pictures that our family had uploaded during the party though!

It was hosted at Kristi’s apartment at the last minute and it was covered with blue, of course! It looked so cute with the strimmers and balloons all around, I bet her cats didn’t know what to think about them, plus all of the strangers around too! Even though, my Aunt Laurie did capture a picture of one kitten he’s name is “John Wayne” snuggled on an arm rest of a chair!

Now if you remember in the last post, I sort of made a statement saying if I had permission that I would reveal the little dude’s name. Well… I have permission but I have decided to keep it a secret a little while longer, next time I will write about JD will be when he is born, so that’ll be when I reveal his name! I have decided that I will not show his face because I don’t think you need to see his face! I also don’t want somebody to steal the pictures and use it as their own!

NOTM: Blue & Purple

13528990_1159293340801661_8047219415065206899_n

Howdy folks!

If you guys know me, you know I don’t like to post on the weekends, but I am really running out of room because I’ve got so much coming for you guys!

If you notice last month, I didn’t publish a new Nails Of The Month post. I really need to give my toes a break at least once a month or something like that. The nails would be like a greenish hue whenever we would remove the polish. I was actually going to wait even further in the month whenever my Aunt Laurie came down so she could do my fingers too, but my luck and I’d change my mind so I don’t know now!

“Big Teal” by Sally Hansen!

I’m pretty sure I’ve worn this color before for a NOTM before! I just can’t say which other color I paired it up with though!

When my nana and I got the feeling to do this, it was the day before Arthrogryposis Awareness Day and so I had have a blue shade and she had quite a few different ones to choose from but I went with this one as it looks simple… Not too dark or light. Since it was like this, it only required one coat! Actually both polishes only needed one or two wipes across the nails!

“Purple Potion” by Sally Hansen!

Yes, I picked this one out because of its clever name! I’ve been in an autumnal feel for the past few days so the fact that it sounded a little Halloweenie made me very happy! It’s a nice dark purple, which is my favorite! I love when it has hints of black in it!

I decided to do something different than what I usually go for, instead of doing mismatch I went for the four toes are a color and one toe is another! I think it’s a stylish, but feminine nail look. I tried to talk my nana into doing hers like that, but she thought she was too old to do it! I think it’s a beautiful addition to the blue explosion!

So what do you think of my nails? Yay or nay?

Arthrogryposis Awareness Day!

amc

Howdy!

We’re getting close to that date! Usually I start posting to spread the word for Arthrogryposis awareness day pretty early in the month, but I’ve decided to wait a bit this year. I figured If I had more time to get this post ready, I’d actually make it interesting enough for more people to join! I always try to have a reminder post and little fliers on my social medias if anybody wanted to pass it along to their friends and family. By the next day or so, I have another post publish about the outcome of it and include a collage of pictures that people had sent me of them wearing blue to show their support of my condition Arthrogryposis! This time I am thinking about writing about it for my Bloggeration August piece!

What is Arthrogryposis? – If you’re new to this blog and don’t know what my condition is exactly. The medical term as a whole is Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. It’s a joint disease that starts in the womb. It’s caused from the fetus not being able to move around. So my arms are bent at the elbow and locked in place. My legs are also very skinny; I essentially have no or very little muscles in my arm, hand and leg areas. It’s the reason why I use my feet for everything because my hands and fingers can’t do anything else.

How you can show your support! – Every year since 2013, I have been celebrating with my fellow AMCers in wearing the color BLUE! That first year, I knew about it but I forgot to have my mom change my shirt and/or pants! Oops! My whole family tries to blue on the 30th and so can you! If you don’t have anything blue in your closet but jeans is fine with me! I’ve even had people paint their nails blue because they didn’t have anything else!

If you want to, I have a little flier on my Facebook page that you can use to spread the word to your friends and family. If they want more information about the condition, you can send this post to them!

Tag Me! – If you do decide to post a picture of yourself on Facebook or Twitter, please tag me in it so I can see that you’re supporting the cause! I’d really appreciate it if you could join the fun! Since I am planning on putting this piece on someplace besides my own blog, I’ll be cropping your head off so that nobody knows what you look like and just knows you supported the cause!

Hope you guys can celebrate with me on the 30th!

Thank you!

NEXT WEEK!

amc

Howdy!

One more week will be Arothrogryposis Awareness Day! If you’ve never heard of the disease before, it is a joint disease that affects my upper and lower body. This is the reason for my curved arms and skinny legs and why I’m always complaining about my hips hurting all the time! Last year, it was the first time I ever celebrated the day by wearing blue and making some noise on all of my social media accounts. I don’t like tweeting celebrities a lot, but I did sent out quite a bit of tweets last year to try to get the word out about why they should wear anything blue. I even got my favorite Push Girl and inspiration Tiphany Adams and one of my favorite singers/bloggers Anette Olzon to wear blue on the day! Yes, I cried, but I think I cried so much because between spreading the word with my family I made up a blog post of all everybody wearing blue and it was so awesome! It made me feel good to know so many people cared and showed their support!

I’d like to get the word out as much as I can without it being too overwhelming. That’s why I waited this long before to start saying something, because too far along, people tend to forget and ask you all the time when the day is so the week before will hopefully prove to be better for everybody! I’d love to get more pictures to upload onto a blog post again, but since I was being self cautious about having my friends and families faces on my blog, I didn’t want strangers going and stealing their pictures you know? So I think this year I’m going to just crop everybody heads off their pictures so I can keep the post up all year long than just three days. I’m actually really excited about telling more people about Arthrogryposis and seeing people dress up in blue to support!

How can you join? Wear any shade of blue you got! I’ll even count jeans and painted fingernails! Hell, I don’t care if you dye your hair blue for the week! If you do that I swear I’ll love you forever and I’ll put the picture at the top of the post!! I’m not going to beg for you to join, you don’t have to. If you don’t want to or in some cases don’t own any blue in your closet, trust me I don’t even have a lot of blue in my own closet! I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing my Elsa pajamas because that’s basically the only amount of blue I have left! I’ll be making little signs on both Facebook and Twitter so you just share those instead, I’ll understand I promise!

Love,
Meg(z)han.
