Vloggers That I Love #5

Howdy!

I think I am going to try to do one Vloggers That I Love post a month, because I have quite a bit still on my list. Every time I feel like I’m finally done putting new ones on it, I literally add two more, but mostly to include a third onto every post. Anyways, this week I is either going to make you very happy or depressed you’re not rich; we’ll see what happens at the end of the post?

RemiLife | luxury fashion, beauty + weight loss

I first discovered Remi’s vlogging channel last Christmas, I was looking for new Vlogmases to watch and I happened to find hers throughout the long list of channels. My first impression of Remi was that I loved her personality; she’s a fast talker, lovable woman. I knew I would be back day after day just to see what kind of craziness she’ll get into it!

Remi talks mostly about luxury fashion and beauty products, which is the reason why I said in the first paragraph that you might be a little sad while reading this post! Honestly, I love her hauls and gifted videos the most, because she gets so excited for everything! I’ve noticed that a lot of others that post similar videos, they’re not as thrilled on camera. I especially love it when her doggy Daisy gets in the middle of unboxing and wants to play at that exact moment. Poor girl!

Another thing I love about her is that she is real about her weight loss journey. Apparently that’s why she created her channel in the first place, which I thought was interesting because I figured that would be something that I would be afraid to share online, knowing all of the horrible comments a person can get on just about everything! She likes to talk about food, what she eats on a regular basis and even on her cheat days too! I actually love whenever she takes trips to Whole Foods because she’ll show you what she likes the most and goes for both healthy and junk food! She’s just me and she’ll find something and go “ooh!” for things she hasn’t seen in a while! She makes food shopping so fun!

AlishaMarie | luxury fashion, beauty, podcastor

Remi has a best friend that is featured quite a bit in her vlogs, and that is Alisha! She talks about the same things but her style is way different!

Alisha lives with her sister Ashlee, who also owns a YouTube channel! She has a puppy named Chloe, and her personality is similar to Remi’s but less bubbly. I honestly don’t watch her as much but whenever I do, I actually like to binge watch a few in one day! I love watching her makeup tutorials, I’ve been craving these videos lately and not only do I wear makeup, I don’t even own anything either. I just love watching the different ways to put it on I guess!

I left this last part to the end because it goes with both girls, they are pocastors of their own channel called Pretty Basic where they talk about everything in their lives like past relationships, insecurities, hottest trends, it’s a mixed bag and whenever my Spotify does work, it is fun to listen to their sometimes wild stories.

Inthefrow | luxury fashion & beauty

When I first found Victoria, I only knew about her blog (and her beautiful lilac hair!) but I didn’t really like her until I saw that she had a YouTube channel and I started to really get interested into her tastes! For a while, she was my only luxury blogger/vlogger, and while I was scrolling to see who follows and my original list of three turned into like eight or nine in a very short time span!

I think the main reason why I love watching her videos is that she has a gentle voice, her British accent is a little thick but I have been learning a lot about some of their terms over the years, so I’m becoming a bit of a pro now! She is into a lot of luxury items, and gets invited to a lot of events and sometimes they lead her away from London to various countries, like Paris, New York City and Tokyo. One of my favorite things is that she tries to take us along with a vlog or two of her adventures! It does nothing for my wanderlust but I am getting through it pretty well I think.

Unfortunately, I haven’t really kept up with her stuff and it sucks because she was one of the first few vloggers I started watching when I discovered the mother load of other blogs and YouTube channels in 2014. Maybe after this post is up I will get back into watching hers again? Has she gotten married yet? I would love to read that blog post or watch the vlog if it’s published already.

So, we are done with this list, but I do have like two more luxury vloggers that I tend to watch every once in a while, but I am going to keep them back for my next theme so you will have to wait for that! do you have any guesses as to the others are?

do you enjoy watching YouTubers that talk about luxury things like fashion, cars, and/or trips? Who do you love that you think I would like too?

My Name In Blog Tag

Hello!

Every once in a blue moon, I’ll check out my Reader and read some new blog posts. I found a new tag that seemed really fun to do, plus I had done something similar with my Twitter username that same week! I have grown to love these different blog tags now; they’re usually easy to come up with and you’re able to schedule them way ahead in time, so really they’re like the perfect post when you’re really lazy!

Ally Writes Things is the one that shared it on her blog. She does a LOT of really cool tags that are just not about books, because that’s one reason why I never liked them before the end of 2018. I have been tempted to do quite a few of the tags she’s done in the past, especially the movie based ones!

The Rules For This Tag:

  • Spell your name with other blog names
  • If you have a long blog name, feel free to shorten it/only use part of it!
  • Write a bit about each blog you mention to tell the world how much you love them.
  • Pingback to the creator of this tag
  • Pingback all the blogs you mentioned so they can see why you love them.

Here are the blogs and mini shout out to the people behind them!

G – Geeky Tourist | Emma has a wonderful blog on her hands! She talks about books, movies, TV shows and even some science too! The blog post that made me love her was the Harry Potter locations in London (she also has one based in Edinburgh too!) and considering I am a BIG fan of the Harry Potter films this was right up my Diagon alley! Get it?

O – Sorry, unfortunately I don’t follow any “O” blogs!

T – The Little Blog Of Vegan | Holly Jade runs a vegan blog (duh!) but it’s not just about vegan food she talks about, it’s everything that makes up the vegan lifestyle! So, she has posts about why she wanted to go that route, plus discusses other cruelty free products like make up, clothes, etc. Everybody can learn a lot by her blog and you can definitely find yourself scrolling through the many recipes she has created late at night, trust me I’ve done this once or twice in the past couple of years!

M – Moving Picture Review | Shona has a great movie blog! She loves various of genres, and has inspired me to talk about movies again on here too. Since 2017, I have been open to discussing my individual favorites and what kind of genres I like to stick to, but I’ve even started to explore others that I might have lost interest in over the years or maybe have been too afraid to watch before, so she’s done a lot for me in that aspect!

E – Ella Was Here | Ella is a gentle soul. She really makes me happy, her posts always help me feel calmer and her entire blog is like my inner aesthetic I think, it’s just beautiful! How I want mine to be one day! It seems strange to describe it like that, but once you check it out you’ll (hopefully) know what I’m trying to say!

G – Gin & Biscuits | Kristina is a beauty, lifestyle and travel blogger. Her blog is gorgeous! Really easy to read, which is one thing that I search for in blogs because there are some with itty-bitty font and you have to squint your eyes to read each word. It’s super annoying! Anyways, I like to mostly read her lifestyle and travel posts. They’re always so bucket list worthy!

H – The Howling Wolfheart | I found Kitten’s blog by chance and from the moment I went on it, I fell deeply in love with it! I am a sucker for nerdy blogs. I like being able to find similar interests with people, especially bloggers, and if they are proud to talk about their superheroes, action films, etc I will forever follow them!

A – Absolutely Lucy | I love Lucy’s blog a lot! She makes you want to travel to places that maybe you have never considered before! She’s been one of my mentors in the blogging world, I’ve learned a lot from her and she is always honest and sweet to me!

N – Nourish ME | Steph is a very fun blogger, she talks about various topics from mental health, baking, make-up, books, the list goes on. I like to see what the bloggers really enjoy and I think she has the perfect mix of things that I think everybody would like as well!

So, what did you think of this? Truth be told, this was actually a lot more difficult than I originally thought it would be! I’m also very glad that I talked myself out of including the “Blog” at the end or I would never get this up for you! Despite this though, it was pretty fun to talk about some of my friends again. I hope you go and check out these blogs and enjoy yourself!

Why You Should Do OOTD Posts

6a017eeb4cd442970d01b8d1b45c9c970c

Two things that have never meshed well together is fashion and having a physical disability, for obvious reasons!

Being able to find clothes that actually fit every part of you, even your problem areas, can be very difficult! I’ve only had an issue once in my life and I’m thankful it’s only been that one time. As a kid, I had to have surgery on my side and eventually my back; I also had to have a metal halo placed onto my head. While waiting for each surgery I had my clothes had be altered a bit. They were cut in the back and placed back together with velcro! It was the only way we were able to wear shirts of any kind at that time! I had quite a few shirts fixed like this and I actually hated it because the velcro would always come undone!

I’ve had some issues with blue jeans and shirts with a wide or V necks. Technically, I, myself didn’t have any trouble with my jeans. It was everybody else who did, because nobody could pull them down. It was mostly because of my hips than anything else! As for the shirts, it’s been an ongoing love and hate thing I’ve had for years! Whenever I wear a wide neck or V-neck shirt, it always goes off one of my shoulders. I have days where I don’t care about it and I mean, it’s going to happen! It happens to every single shirt I’ve had! The only way to fix them is either to sew them tighter around the neck or use a safety pin and I don’t feel comfortable with those things being around my neck/back! Other than that, fashion isn’t too evil to me as some people with physical disabilities have to deal with on a regular basis!

At the end of 2014, I started thinking about adding something new to my blog. I started to read and love bloggers’ OOTD (outfit of the day) posts. It always gave me a snippet of their style and what they mainly went for while out shopping. Every once in awhile, I did talk about my style but I rarely talked or showed what I had in my own closet.

The main reason why I never did an OOTD post before this was because of my hands, with my condition (Arthrogryposis) my hands are bent at the elbow and I can’t unfold or move them away from that area without help. So whenever I wear tops that have graphic letters and scene on them, a person has to actually move my hand (mostly my right arm!) over to the side so they can read it. Thankfully, half of the time I wear shirts with more lettering than pictures so I can just say what it reads so nobody touches my hands. So I’ve sort of built up a resentment towards my poor hands over the years! It’s not that I don’t like them, they’re just there. I have limited movement in them–I have more movement in them than I was supposed to!

When I started finding other bloggers in wheelchairs post their OOTD posts, I just decided I needed to break out of my shell and find the love for my hands. So on January 1, 2014 I published my first ever OOTD post on here of what I wore to the NYE party at my neighbor’s house! It was VERY casual! Luckily, I had been in talks with my mom, nana, and sister that I wanted to start doing this and since I didn’t have a way of taking a picture of myself at the time, my mom would have to do it for me! After that first time, I only did it like three times from January to March 2014. When it began to get warmer outside, we did it a lot more and I started to learn a little pose!

If I’m sitting in my push wheelchair, the armrests are higher up than my other chair, but it moves my arm out of the way of the shirt! It’s my go-to pose now! At the end of the year, I had a lot of posts I had ever dreamed of having and I was so happy and inspired to keep going with it! I still have problems with finding the love for my hands, but I feel like I’ll always have that issue with them. It’ll also take longer than one year to finally love them too!

Something that I don’t think a lot of people have noticed in my posts is that I don’t wear makeup in them! I’ve never been a big fan of it and so I have over 24 posts and I’m pushing the boundaries of “normal” fashion bloggers! If you have a disability of any kind and have a blog or maybe thinking of creating one soon, I recommend you start doing an OOTD post here and there as after awhile, it’s no longer about your condition, you’re talking about the clothes and it’s just like everybody else’s posts!

Do you like the OOTD posts? Would you ever consider doing them on your blog or instagram account?

What To Get A Blogger For Christmas!

10858519_377363749106959_8052234206917278829_n

Last year, I was nice enough to build a Christmas wishlist for all of my family. I always get told by family, my mom especially that I am really difficult to shop for. I remember my mom coming into my room the day after I published the post, she said it was very helpful. I plan on doing another Christmas wishlist for clothes and other stuff, but I started thinking about things that would be great for bloggers so I had to go with my gut and write out this post.

Since I’ve been working on photography game, I figured I still need a few things to keep at home so I don’t have to wait until I go over to my nana’s, I can do them all in my room. This isn’t just for me, if you know a blogger but don’t have a clue what to get them, maybe this will help you a little. I’ve listed everything on what would be inexpensive to possibly really expensive.

BEAUTY:

I’m not a beauty blogger, but I follow quite a bit on all of my social media accounts to know there are a lot of things that beauty bloggers would appreciate to get as Christmas presents. My advice is take a look at some of their recent posts, see what kind of brands they prefer–make sure that you respect their views on animal cruelty products! Try to find a recent “favorites” list of products that they like to use for autumn/winter. If you need some help in that department I put together a small list of some cosmetic brands. Here are some brands that are animal cruelty-fee: B, Barry M, Elf Cosmetics, LUSH, NARS, NYX Cosmetics, and Urban Decay.

Hair Ties/Clips
Lipsticks
Eyeliners
Eye Shadow
Mascara
Blush Palette
Face Masks
Bath Bombs
Nail Polishes
Fragrances
Shampoos/Conditioners
Blowdryers
Straighteners
Tanning & Spa packages

LIFESTYLE:

Finding ideas for lifestyle bloggers was easier said than done. I’m even a lifestyle blogger and I could not think for the world what we would want, of course not all of us want these things I’m listing. It’s just an idea to get you started. Again, if you follow a lifestyle blogger, you could look through recent posts and see what you could find.

Socks
Blankets
Calendar
Diary/Journals/Notebooks
Daily Planner
Books
Headphones
Subscription to favorite magazine
Purse

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Now if any of my family is reading, this is the section that will help me out a LOT in the next couple of months to nice photos for my blog. Technically, I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer for you to give to be used as a prop, but if there is you might want to check and see what the person normally uses in their pictures and go from there. I tried to list as many as I could.

Flowers
Scrapbook Sheets
Magazines
Foam Board
Rings
Fabric
Candles
Small Dishes
Tripod
Camera

Blogs That I Love #23

blogs

When I figured I’d go back to these posts, I didn’t think I’d actually keep up with it or have a difficult time selecting three bloggers for the post. I follow a LOT of blogs on Facebook, Twitter, and Bloglovin that it can be pretty overwhelming at times. So you could understand why I had to shorten my list down a bit from 5 to 3 a post. I knew that I wouldn’t feel comfortable continuing these posts into December either. I’ve got a lot of things lined up (mentally) and I need to focus on them first! I’m hoping I’ll bring them back once January starts!

  1. Blue Sky Daze – Sinead is growing to be one of my favorite bloggers of 2015! If I did a post of favorite bloggers of this year I’m pretty sure I’d pull out my hair! Honestly, all three blogs I’ve selected for this week would be on that list – how interesting! I really love her lifestyle and food posts the most. I also love the way she takes pictures. They look very professional and she’s been inspiring me to up my game lately!
  2. The Flower That Blooms – I don’t know but I honestly don’t follow a lot of sisters running one blog, I think I’ve only had two or three, but I’ve been going back to Lauren and Rachel’s blog recently. They talk an array of topics from fashion, beauty, to college related posts. Surprisingly, I’ve been reading their fashion posts! Rachel is more like me in a way though, she likes the darker side of clothes. Another topic I tend to read of theirs is anything to do with Lush. I’ve never used the stuff but the more I read the different posts about their products I want to, BAD!
  3. Missamrunaway – I love this girl! She’s the sweetest! She doesn’t share her name and that’s perfectly fine! She’s also a teenage, beauty, lifestyle, and kawaii blogger. I don’t necessarily know what the “kawaii” means but I’m sure I’ll find out soon! She does monthly blog post ideas, I love them so much! They’re so helpful for when your blogging mojo is nowhere to be found. She recently posted one full of Christmas post ideas that I might look through soon and find some inspiration for more posts for next month!
