Biographies & Memoirs

I think this is going to be my next book to read. I think I have better luck just reading biographies and memoirs than any other book. It somehow gets me more into the person who I’ve ever heard of and makes them more of a human being–not that they weren’t one before! As a fan, reading a biography or memoir of their favorite or somebody they’ve heard of can be sometimes fun because it is written by them, in their own words of different stories that make them, them.

I’ve never been a fan of Slash. I didn’t even know who he was until I heard his song with Fergie called, “Beautiful Dangerous.” My family pretty caught me up to speed about who he was and what era of rock he’s from. I’m not a big fan of 1970-80’s rock bands. Lots of those bands went through the bad stuff. Apparently there are reasons why people who like rock music always title playlists or anything like that, “Sex, Drugs & Rock n Roll.” If you love a certain rock band, there’s a good possilbiby that somebody in the band has done drugs.

This was actually my second choice and the reason why it turned into my first choice is because it’s only $1.99 on Amazon. The other one I really wanted was Duff McKagan’s book, “It’s All Easy, and Other Lies.” There was another book I might consider reading down the line. I am interested in Nikki Sixx book as well. I like how I’m not interested in their music that much but I want to read their books. I’m very weird on how I like things.
