OOTD: Hammer Time!

I thought I’d do another outfit post for you guys! This is like one of two reasons why I hate winter because I kind of get stuck inside for a few days at a time and I hardly get to create any OOTD posts and it honestly sucks! I just want to go somewhere, take lots of pictures and wear something cute! Speaking of cute, I think this is a good picture of me!!

It was somewhat spring-like outside on Friday. If it wasn’t for the stupid wind, it would have been perfect!  When we took this, our cats were rubbing up against us like always, that’s why in the photo down at the bottom has a couple of tails around my toes! Okay, let’s talk about fashion now! I know for a fact I’ve worn this shirt before; it’s my hand-me-down shirt from Blondie and it’s from Hot Topic! It has a cute gray kitty with the words “Turn Down For What” on the bottom. I had fun trying to explain what that meant to my nana earlier that day!

As far as my bottoms, these are my “MC Hammer” pants. Despite the fact that they’re not gold, they are baggy as crap at the legs but then again majority of my leggings are like that! #skinnylegprobs! I think I got these from Charlotte Russe a couple of years ago. They’re very comfortable. I like the sweatpant/leggings feeling they give off whenever I wear them. On my ankles and waist, they are a solid black and wrap and are snug around both areas. The middle has this cheetah pattern of white, gray, and black, I want to say it’s like a snow leopard print! The material feels very thin, but when the wind blows it doesn’t go through it which is a blessing in disguise!

What do you think of this outfit? Do you have anything in your closet that reminds you of an old trend?

Song Review: “Bombastic” by Bonnie McKee

I found this song while listening to the YouTube 15 hosted by Jenna Marbles on Sirius XM Hits 1 radio station. I usually get very lucky at finding one awesome song from the countdown, but I never get like two in one day! So this was a rare treat. What’s even better was that I almost missed this song! It’s okay though because I would have had the whole weekend to find it again.

If you grew up listening and having all of Britney Spears’ albums as a kid or maybe an adult. On her third album, “Britney” she had a song on it called “Bombastic” and in a way, I wanted it to be a cover of it and when I found out it wasn’t I was still pretty impressed! I had changed my channel just in time just before they started playing it. I loved everything about it, the intro and beat. It’s very “poppy” but not in a bad way. It’s catchy as far as lyrics go, but you know that’s not my style to like the words first. The music video is very 80’s workout kind of vibe. In a very odd way the video and song mesh well and I can’t even explain to you why, but it does! If you don’t watch the music video, there’s still a good chance you’ll like the song! I’ll be a happy camper when I find out this song is on Spotify!

Have you heard of this song yet? Do you like it? If not, what is it that you don’t like about it?

Tune Tuesday | Australia

Before I start, I wanted to give everybody an idea what you’ll be seeing in the next couple of months with these posts. Every Tuesday we’ll be “traveling” to another country, it’s purely a musical experience. Finding new or old artists and bands from each one and I’ll leave videos of my favorite tracks from them. Last year, I had a couple of countries where I had my friends help me out. I had help with Germany, Ireland and Poland from my friends who are actually from those countries. They seemed to have fun and it gave them the chance to find more music from their countries that maybe they never heard of before. I do go in alphabetical order so it makes things easier for me to keep track! So I hope you all like this year’s line up!

We’re starting off Australia!

Last year I had a heavy metal band and a pop artist, weird combination but it was all I had to work with at the time. This time around, I actually had a few on my list but I decided to ask for more suggestions from a fellow blogger friend Rosie Rockets! She said she likes more 80’s music and picked quite a few, but I only knew one and that was Dannii Minogue. I remember hearing her older sister Kylie Minogue a lot more in the 90’s, but nothing about Dannii. So I thought I would share a couple of her songs in this post.

My choices are all in the pop genre. The first one that came to mind was Sia. I mean, come on! She has basically ruled both pop/dance charts for the last two years! Her song “Chandelier” was the summertime hit last year! Despite everybody’s thoughts about the “Elastic Heart” music video, the song is actually doing really well! Another one that has done very well on the charts is Iggy Azalea. Yeah, I didn’t know she was Australian either! She did pretty good after the release of her song “Fancy” with Charli XCX. My mom will still crank it up in the car if it comes on the radio! Every time I hear her new song “Trouble” with Jennifer Hudson I can’t help but think of Miss Patti LaBelle dancing on Dancing With The Stars group dance! My favorite of hers though is “Beg For It” with MØ. I just love that song so much and really miss it playing on the radio!

The next two are ones you probably don’t hear as much! I said that all of mine were in the pop genre, but that’s not true! Orianthi has had her songs play on pop stations, but I feel like she mostly belongs in the rock category. She’s a singer and guitarist that was going to be apart of Michael Jackson’s This is tour until the sudden death of the singer changed everything. She has went on to release two albums and went on tour with Alice Cooper and become the first female guitarist touring in his band. The last is a groups of DJs, they’re sisters by the name of NERVO. Olivia and Miriam Nervo, they are songwriters and helped write for artists like, Miley Cyrus, David Guetta, and Ke$ha. I haven’t seen or heard much of them before. I’ll be honest I thought they were from The Netherlands, I won’t explain on how I got that!

I Begin To Wonder – Danni Minogue

Elastic Heart – Sia

Fancy – Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX

You’re Gonna Love Again – NERVO

Dirty Dancing

I have fallen in love again! No, not with a real person. I’m done with falling in love with somebody and getting hurt somewhere in the process, I just finished watching Dirty Dancing. I don’t really remember who got me interested in this movie, but I think my mom did because they were smart! I don’t hate everything that was made in the 80’s. Besides “Purple Rain” and this, I’m good. Everything else just got lost. This movie will NEVER get old. Anytime it would come on different TV channels, I’d get comfortable in my bed and watch it with the same amazement I had when I first watched it. That same envy I had of Penny and Baby dancing so seductive, yes I said that word. Johnny (Patrick Swayze) looking so handsome and buffed. I think that’s how I started liking arms, especially shoulders. Anyways, these three people were my favorites and I wished to be like them. But you got to understand, when I watched this I had a whole list of people on this list I wished to be like one day.

I watched Jennifer Grey on Dancing With The Stars, that whole season my mom and I had the same winners. Since then, we haven’t been able to agree of who should win each season. So far, I’ve lost two seasons. Both of my favorites were runner-ups. Anyways, I watched her dance with Derek Hough and envied her once again. Not the fact she was dancing/partnered with one of the best looking male dancers on the show, but she could still dance at her age. She and Derek did their freestyle dance for the finale to one of the songs in the movie, I can’t remember what the song was called, but the reason why she didn’t play “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” was because it was a such a special dance to do Patrick that she didn’t want to change it. She ended up winning that season with Derek. That’s reason number two of why this movie will never get old.
