Short Stories.

I’ve been needing to find new things to keep me entertained throughout my “off” days. If I don’t have anything new going on, I usually post a picture quote I’ve found on Pinterest, but lately I’ve been letting my creativity come out in different forms. Before, I let out my thoughts and feelings through song. I’d write songs about what I or somebody else was going through at that point of time. I haven’t written a song about my life or anybody’s life in a while. I have found a new way in getting songs for songs though. Since my music taste getting more and more fantasy like, I’ve been trying to get more into writing about myths and fantasies. It’s all new for me, and it’s not really an easy process to get through, but it’s fun nevertheless. I’ve been doing “Picture It & Write” on Ermiliablog. I’ve done about eight of those and I feel like doing that, but I got to admit I miss writing my short stories I used to do in my free time at school. So I think this is my chance to bring back some fun stories like the ones I made up in school. I hope you like these short stories as I post.

My ideas:

Write a story about irony, with a teacher as the main character and a fuse box as they key object. Set your story in a lab.
In 400 words, create your ideal place.
Re-write the fairy tale, Snow White, from the point of view of Bashful, one of the 7 dwarves.
Imagine your life is now a book. In 100 words, write a blurb for it. (It’s what people will read on the back cover.)
Begin a story with the line, “The clock winked.”
Use the following words in a story: hypocrite, cookie jar, city, telephone
Put Shaggy (Scooby-Doo’s partner) and Batgirl in an elevator and write a 200 word scene.
Write about what you’d cook for an enemy.
Write a 150 word profile of someone named “Margaret Mallory.”
Flip through a magazine and create a story around the first image you see.
In 300 words, fictionalize an event that happened to one of parents, siblings, or relatives.
Write about a man who got stood up on a date.
You come home and check your phone messages. You get to your third message and freeze. Begin from there.
What happens when a man bumps into his former girlfriend while he shops for baby toys with his pregnant wife? The man once told the ex-girlfriend: “I’m not the marrying kind.”
Use this line anywhere in your story: “Behind her, the noise escalated.”
Mention all these words in a story that ends in a compromise: mechanic, spaghetti, bathtub, stool
What story can you come up with this premise: a flight attendant drinking champagne in first class.
What story can you come up with this quick plot: “secretary has a weird way of classifying files.”
Begin a story that is all about this mixed proverb: Revenge is bliss
Start your story with this line: Alice tried to remember who had given her the key
