Five Sentence Fiction: Spoiled

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. I got the inspiration after listening singer/songwriter Banks’ song “You Should Know Where I’m Coming From” and somehow that tone and her voice kind of helped create this little dark piece.

This week’s word:SPOILED

The house was abandoned so long ago, the wooden floors rusted and the drapes had torn and lost their powerful bold colors that drew strangers in.
Cobwebs had taken refuge on all corners of the place, ants had made the sinks their home, and the smell of mold filled up your chest poisoning your lungs.
Nobody had wanted to live there because of the stories that have been passed down through generations.
Nobody had wanted to live somewhere that was so damaged that there wasn’t a possibly it couldn’t make a comeback.
But, even in the hauntingly broken things, create the most beautiful treasures that this world has ever known.

This week: MARRIAGE

A baby girl wrapped in a pink blanket cuddled and warm, not knowing what kind of struggles she will later on in her life, but there she is living proof of everyday miracles.

As she grows, her eyes widen to the sights and smells, playdates arranged by mothers and she meets a little boy at the tender age of four.

Much later in this girl’s life a photograph makes its way out of the old albums at the house, the baby girl is now in the mid-20’s still trying to find somebody to love her, but she is almost given up for it all, that is until she finds one suitor and makes a blind date with him.

She puts the picture up before she leaves, she is ready to make a good impression to this still somewhat mystery man, but she still wonders about the boy in that old photo and what he could be doing at this very second, she thought he’s probably married and rich.

When she leaves, she has small wonders about the boy, but it’s off to meet this guy; she sits at the bar of the restaurant and he slowly makes his way towards her and he instantly puts a smile on his face, when he said her name, she turned to face him and the outline of the boy in the picture was now in front of her, they were meant to find each other again.

This week: FALLING

The ball and chain, heavy and small.
The crash between each wave hurt like a ton of bricks, it never gave me a chance to pray.
I sank down slowly, still struggling to break fee from the chains across my body pulling me down into the waters.
The water pressure increasing the will to hold in any breath I took before my fall, I could feel my cheeks turn red and lips groan as they start to twitch to open.
I continued to go down until I heard a faint rumble below me and the sand floor turn into a thick dust that floated and swirl around my body; I thought as my body hit the ground that this would be my final resting place and nobody would care about my un-timing death or how I ever got in this position in the first place, as I closed my eyes I begin to hear my heartbeat and it cradled me into a deep sleep.

This week: HORIZON

From down at the bottom, it’s dark and the air is musky.
Last night’s rain created a small slippery slope on the trip up.
Mud covered our boots with a thick brown stain, the smell was unbearable as we continued to walk through the puddles, some of us mistakenly took mud over poop.
The trail up the mountain was step and since the sun was slowly coming up from the night sky, the temperature was still fairly low.
When we finally got to the top, the mountain was dry, the air was clear and fresh, and seeing the lightly dim stars behind us with the bright sun making its horizon ahead was so beautiful to be able to witness both evolutions at once.

The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction. I’ve decided to write a little bit of how my mornings seem to work out during the times where I can’t sleep worth a shit. This is what happened this morning actually.

This week: WAITING

My nights start the annoying game of lying in bed and hearing the TV blaring behind my back, my paranoia kicks on if I turn it over and then the bad dreams play on in my head, whatever little phobia I hear laughter going through my brain and haunts me for the next two hours.

I lay awake only to hear Fraiser on my TV, I’ve seen the episode about three times and everytime I see Niles act like a little girl over Daphne, it makes me sad that I haven’t met my own Niles Crane, but then again I think to myself I don’t want to date someone who will always analyze my thoughts and feelings.

It’s now four hours and counting since I’ve closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep, my mom gets up in an hour, I decide to lay in my bed in silence and when the hour is up and I see the bathroom light go on, I hope she comes in to take me to the bathroom before she leaves to go to work.

When the bathroom light comes on for the second time, the shower starts to run and my body starts to relax, when she finally comes in, and gets me another drink in case I decide to stay awake, after being awake for seven hours I hoped to finally get back to sleep.

When she leaves, the light from outside gets more clear in between my blinds, dad and ChiChi have finally decided that it was time to go back to bed and sleep in the pink blankie, I still lie on my bed wondering how in the hell I will finally break this damn insomnia, between thinking about it and closing my eyes at the same time I drift off to dreamland and regret waking up again at noon or two in the afternoon.

This week: FEARLESS

The cold air hit her sweaty back as she fell onto her back on the bed, still trying to catch her breath she looked at the wonderful man who gave her so much happiness and awakening pleasure.

They laid on the wrinkled sheets and blankets looking for excuses not to continue, there was no alarm on her phone waiting to get her up for work and the dog was already outside unaware of his owner’s little escape.

The man had barely slept he couldn’t stop watching his lover sleep half covered by her clothes and the blanket, her skin glistened in the light sunlight that hovered over the curtains, she slept there innocently until he went to touch her skin.

She slowly gained conscious of her surroundings and felt his touch of his fingertips on her ankles going in circles, she didn’t move from her position until she started to give her sweet kisses on her legs and outer thighs, this man was able to make her feel beautiful and more alive while they were together.

Once she knew what his intentions where she grew some strength and flipped around to make his nice and slow kisses move forward towards her upper body, the sensation was unbearable to her tender skin that she was wanting him to stop, but he was too fearless of a man to not stop just before he get to their favorite spots.

This week: PAGES

That last step, hearing the creaking of the wood stopping as her foot lifted up and down onto the stone stairs, that were only silent as she continued to walk across them.

She had her suitcase in one hand and her backpack on her back, both heavy and full to the top.

She was looking for that new start and she knew she’d never find it there, where she had created her standards and made mistakes, she needed to move on.

The past was gone, the present was leading her onto the longing future she only saw in her dreams at night.

As she threw her suitcase and backpack inside her itty bitty car, she slammed the door and walked around to the driver’s seat; as she climbed in, she took a deep breath and turned the engine,  she ignored her feelings to look at that stained house and decided to turn a new leaf.
