Top 5 Steamy Reads!

Untitled

Howdy!

Every once in a while, okay, okay, three times a week I’ll make my way to YouTube and look up some of my favorite BookTubers, and check out their new book hauls and I’m really addicted to watching them, but when they all talk about the same books, it can get a bit boring. Sometimes I have to be a little creative with my words and there are some bookworms who talk about other subjects than say fantasy/sci-fi, so I usually put in the words: “steamy” and “historical fiction” and sometimes I get a good and interesting selection of videos!

Since I haven’t read as many historical books as I’d like, and trust me I have a whole shelf on Goodreads that has over 200+ books on it! I also have a semi large list of romantic books too and I thought I’d write a blog post about my favorite steamy books!

Now you’re all probably wondering what turned me on (no pun intended) to exotica novels, and honestly I think I just wanted to get out of the supernatural/paranormal genre. I didn’t read my first book until I was probably 19 or 20 years old, and no, my first book wasn’t Fifty Shades Of Grey either! I actually read this little novella that cost me about $2.99 and I bought it before my mom went to work one afternoon, and I literally read it in under thirty minutes. It was a quick read as it had over 80 pages and I felt like an idiot afterwards because I thought it would be longer with that price but I was sadly mistaken!

What you’re about to read are the burbs taken from each book on Goodreads plus my thoughts about each one! I also left the reviews I did after I finished the book, some are a little outdated considering I haven’t read a few in a couple of years! If you’ve never read a sexy book before, I wouldn’t close your mind from there, because they can be quite educational, especially for a young disabled woman in her twenties! So let’s not pull the guilt trip on me after this, all right!

Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning – Read my book review here!

“For him, life is all music and no play…

When Brian Sinclair, lead songwriter and guitarist of the hottest metal band on the scene, loses his creative spark, it will take nights of downright sinful passion to release his pent-up genius…

She’s the one to call the tune…

When sexy psychologist Myrna Evans goes on tour with the Sinners, every boy in the band tries to seduce her. But Brian is the only one she wants to get her hands on…

Then the two lovers’ wildly shocking behavior sparks the whole band to new heights of glory… and sin…”

Can you imagine on why I decided to read this? This was actually the book I found after I read the first Fifty Shades book. I find it really odd that I even enjoyed this, because back in the day I use to think rock stars were creeps and didn’t deserve real love. Thankfully, Brian and Myrna snapped me out of that!

I am three books away from finishing the whole series! I fully intend on getting Wicked Beat sometime, but probably not in its physical form! I don’t think my dad believed a word of what I said about the third book when I bought it back in 2012!

The Invitation by Roxy Sloane – Read my book review here!

“Hot, English businessman Ashton Pierce made a pact not to screw up his friendship with Justine ‘JJ’ Jenkins over a cheap one-night stand. Now, two years later, he’s going out of his mind with wanting her — but she’s still off-limits.

Now school is over, and his control is wearing thin. They’ve got one last night together, and he’s determined to make it an experience she’ll never forget.

The one girl he swore off is going to have the night of her life. And with a sexy game of dare on the table, it won’t take long…”

I loved this story! It was even a freaking novella (I bought it while it was free!) and I still enjoyed it! This was the second book that made me really happy I had a Kindle on hand, because the description on Goodreads alone is pretty steamy! And, no, I didn’t want to read it for the fact that our leading man had a British accent, even though I did imagine Henry Cavill as Ashton for the longest time. I’m like Queenie from Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them I have troubles with Brit accents. I really just liked the chase of the two characters and their chemistry.

Nobody’s Angel by Kallypso Masters – Read my book review here!

“When Marc rescued Angelina from an abusive Dom at his fetish club, he never imagined she’d upend his safe, controlled life. But his SAR partner, Luke, a widower, thinks Angelina has been sent to him by his dead wife. Marc knows only he can fulfill her sexual needs, but won’t hurt his friend. When the abusive Dom stalks her, she turns to Marc for help and learns a submissive has power too.”

I have to say when I started reading it, I had some difficulties because it does discuss domestic abuse, and since I read this probably seven months after everything happened with my sister’s relationship. I thought the combination of talking about BDSM and domestic abuse was interesting. I remember when the first Fifty Shades movie came out, lots of people were against it because nobody understood the “rules” of the lifestyle, and I felt this book was very educational as to very sexy. Oh and I might’ve had developed a crush on Marc and Luke later on.

Diary Of A Wanted Woman by Donnee Patrese – Read my book review here!

“Hannah Jones was a wanted woman, not that she thought she deserved all the attention. She knew that she was beautiful with light skin and an award winning smile, but her past led her to believe she was not good enough.

Men flocked to her and it was easy to see why. Who wouldn’t want a woman that was obsessed with sex and willing to do anything in bed?

That was not what made David Castor fall for her, however. David Castor, young wealthy football player, has wanted Hannah from the moment he laid eyes on her. She was everything he always wanted in a woman. She was smart, beautiful and amazing in bed. He would do anything to make her his very own.

Yet he wasn’t the only one. He had competition from a member of his own team. Keith Morgan was a sadist that was looking for the perfect woman to dominate. When he met Hannah, he knew she was the one and it wasn’t hard to convince her.

David knew that his love for Hannah was amazing and was the kind of love that could change people. The hard part was convincing Hannah that she was worthy all the love he had to give.”

I thought this book had relatable moments, mostly for the fact that Hannah thought she deserved a certain kind of love because of the life she’s lived, but in reality it was really her mind messing with her. I believe everyone has had these types of moments in their life. I remember semi liking this book. There were a few mistakes and one thing was that I thought while reading it was the fact that it wasn’t looked over very well, there were lots of misspelling and the format was really bad, but I chose to overlook that and focus on the story itself and even though, it had a difficult plot, it was still hot!

Burn For Me by Lauren Blakely – Read my book review here!

“She’s the one fire he can’t put out…

Jamie Lansing has had it bad for firefighter Smith Grayson for as long as they’ve been friends. Yes, he’s ridiculously charming and she might stare a little too long at his abs, but his dirty-talking, rough-around-the-edges ways aren’t for her. Plus, she knows that as a serial dater, Smith isn’t the type to settle down. But then a terrible, fantastic, mind-blowing mistake leaves her body craving more than one night.

Smith Grayson has only ever had eyes for one woman in town—his best friend Jamie. But convincing her a relationship between them will work is next to impossible with her refusing to see beyond his past. But when she asks for a week of no-strings-attached sex to get him out of her system, Smith knows this is his one chance to prove he’s not just the man she needs in her bed, but the man she needs in her life.”

This was my first book about firefighters. One thing that you learn pretty quickly when you get into the exotica category is that there are generally four types of guys: billionaires, rock stars, firefighters and military. So the fact that I managed to have all four in one post is a bit of an accomplishment for me! This has a LOT of dirty talk in it, and a part of me wanted to put it higher on my list, but I actually didn’t like it enough that I want to read the rest of the series!

Have you read any steamy reads lately? I’m always looking for suggestions!
