Dripping Blood

I’ve been thinking a lot of what I’ve been watching on TV. I’m been getting more and more brave about the things I watch as in the scary stuff that you couldn’t get me to stay in the room for when I was a kid. Of course, I still run for the hills for the ghosts and zombies stuff, but vampires and werewolves haven’t been a big deal for me in years. I remember that first episode of The Vampire Diaries, when it came on that Thursday evening. I don’t remember if I had homework that night or not, but it was my senior year and I rarely brought anything home from school at that time. I do remember seeing the previews of the new series on The CW premiering and I was actually going to give it a shot. I knew I’d probably cover my head with my blanket the whole time, but I wanted to see what this show was about and I remembered falling in love with Stefan and Elena’s chemistry and that scene were Damon makes his entry with those pretty blue eyes and mischievous grin on his face, I knew right there that I wasn’t going anywhere and that Damon alone had me wrapped around his fingers and could bite me anytime he wanted, and apparently I wasn’t the only one. As years passed on, the show continued to grow, and they just started their sixth season this past Thursday. I have my ups and downs with the different seasons but I am still fully in love with the characters and the entire production.

I grew up thinking vampires lived in coffins, only sucked blood, and flew with their wings. So when I watched TVD and the Twilight movies, everything was different. Thankfully, it never messed with me, but I always thought how everytime I ended an episode or movie, I’d think to myself how did you fall in love with a vampire or a werewolf? It took me at least three or four years after the first couple of Twilight movies to come out before I broke down and watched them. I even started on the Stefan’s Diaries series, but only reading three books. I even tried to read the first Twilight book but I couldn’t complete it without comparing it to the movie. Which usually happens to me. After I fall into the vampire/werewolf scene, I decided to go a little deeper into it. My dad had discovered the Underworld series. He knows how much in love I am with my other stuff that I could probably like this too. I watched Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans and I ended up liking it a lot. A year later, I found that Underworld Awakening was coming to theaters and I knew I would never be able to see in theaters, but I didn’t think that after it came out on DVD I’d get it either, but I did and I loved it. I finally finished the series just a few months ago. While I got into that series, I got into another series which stirred far from my normal paranormal stuff, I got into the Resident Evil movies and it’s focused on zombies. Even though I will not watch the first one, I’ve loved the first. In between both sets I found out that I still have fears of the different “beings” when my dad found the movie, Daybreakers I knew I found my limit and I couldn’t finish it. Hell, my dad didn’t even finish it!

In the spring of 2013, I was really curious of how much I could watch. When they started showing the commercials of the debut show of Hannibal I was really curious to see how much I could take and how much they could put on a family oriented network. The first episode premiered late at night, 10pm on the east coast. I never watched it at night except for that one episode. I was done waiting and was bored at that time, so I watched it and surprisingly got some sleep that night. I managed to get through that whole season with only missing one episode. I was really proud of myself! The whole show was really gruesome, but thankfully I had watched quite a few movies before getting myself into this show. I did try to watch the second season this past year and I’m sad to say I couldn’t get myself to watch it. I began to watch more of Witches Of East End and that’s my guilty pleasure for the last two years. It’s a good show! At the beginning of this year though, I went back to my movies and I watched both Beautiful Creatures, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, and Hansel & Gretal: Witch Hunters when our movie channels premiered them, I actually liked both movies but I will say don’t watch TMI at night. Those demons looked pretty gnarly and H&G was pretty crazy too, especially at the beginning. I’m not going to lie though, I still have both of those movies on my DVR.

One of the main reasons why I wanted to write this post was because I’m about to start my next phase or whatever. I honestly have no clue if I’ll even get through it or not, because I haven’t even watched the real previews of the show yet. I know from the past shows, it has a big reputation of being very weird and creepy! I’ve never watched the past seasons for both of those reasons, but I have always wondered about the other side. The show that I’m talking about is American Horror Story: Freakshow and I actually have it set up to tape this week when it comes on. One of the reasons why I’m watching it, is because I grew up finding more and more stories of different people with disabilities back in 1800s being apart of traveling circuses. Being apart of a freak show to earn money. I was literally thinking about how at that time, people were paying to stare and laugh at us so long ago. I know AHS is far away from that line of me understanding anymore about that part. I’m mostly curious to see if there any people with disabilities giving us who are really handicapped a bad name as in we’re not trying to scare anyone. I have a different approach to it and I know I shouldn’t but what’s a girl to do. I know I should probably stick to what I got now and be done with it, but you know I’m always curious. We’ll just see how it all goes! I might have to start looking through books instead.
