Yesterday, when my family were all together until Christmas day. Majority of my family was outside, taking a smoke break and taking pictures of the cat trying to jump out of my uncle’s semi through the window. Thankfully, she never did. My aunt was reading the weekend paper and she was looking at something and I randomly ask if they had the births in there. She gave me a section and I love going through and reading off the names of this poor kids that get to grow up in this generation and how this world acts like now, they’re going to need their families to get them guidance and values more than anyone. Anyways, I was looking at some of the names. A lot of them I just loved and then there were a few that had me in knots. Between pronouncing them and spelling them out, I felt bad for them. One of the names that had me stumped was the name Mabri Elizabeth. Now I love the middle name, because it is my middle name, but my aunt and I didn’t exactly know how to pronounce the first name. We’re thinking, “May-Bree” is how it’s supposed to be said though. It is a pretty name, but I can already imagine a teacher’s first day in their classroom and fumbling on this poor girl’s name.
There was a name that I like, I wasn’t a fan of it at first, but it’s growing on me. I don’t ever see myself naming my kid it, but as my sister told me I like some weird names apparently. I do, I’m not going to lie, but I’m not the only one. She’s the one who wants name her daughter Zavery Marie. Honestly, it’s not bad. It’s very girly and cute. Anyways, the name was Gunner. Two different couples had named their sons this name, but used two different middle names. Now I don’t know about you guys out there, but I hate if they start and end their first and middle with the same letters. Drives me nuts! The first name I liked, Gunner Lee. It is a cute and as he gets older, if he doesn’t want to use “Gunner” as his first name, he can go by “Lee” instead. The second one was Gunner Christopher. First of all, that’s too long. My name is probably the same amount as his names. It’s cute, but too long and the two “Rs” at the end. There was one name out of all of them that made me wonder. This couple named their newborn daughter Symphony Marie. Honestly, I love the name as a whole. The one thing that has me wondering if the parents are into music or not. Can you imagine when she’s older and asking her parents how they came up with her name and they don’t even know what a symphony is? Oh dear god! I’m sure they know, but then again if Kim and Kanye named their daughter “North West” apparently anything is possible.
