Five Sentence Fiction: Enrapture

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

This week: ENRAPTURE

From the outside, it looks like a business, but once inside you feel the thrill of all the books in front of you.

It felt like you were in heaven, floating like a cloud.

The two-story building became the castle that Belle lived with the Beast, but not as nice.

It was the one time you felt shorter than normal and taller than you are; but the middle shelves were your best friend.

You love the feeling of just staying there for hours on end and reading one or three books at a time just to feel some freedom from the reality you live in.

  1. I was rather a lonely and ostracized soul in my youth. Books were my friends. I wanted to become an author. Sadly, this never transpired.

    1. Maybe one day you will. 🙂

I was never into reading or writing, but the both of them brought a side that I didn’t like. If I had to do any writing in school, I had admirers because I wrote with my feet. And whenever I read out loud in school, I was one of those slow readers that EVERYBODY hated, even me. 😦

I don’t do much writing now, but I have read like 40+ since two years ago. 🙂
