What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.
This week: MAGNETIC
The lights flickered on and off as she sat on the floor up against the cold mirror.
The glass tickled her back and she wished for an escape.
She was chained to the floor, but it was like she was only allowed to move if somebody moved it for her, like a voodoo doll.
She didn’t know, but there was a man stuck in the same position directly behind the mirror, they stood in separate rooms, not knowing the condition of the other.
They were attached to each other and all they wanted was space between them.
Write a piece for the word, using the third definition. The piece must be no less than 33 words and no more than 333 words. You have to use the word given to you. This week the word prompt is ANIMAL and the third definition for the word is, “a human being considered chiefly as physical or nonrational; also: this nature.” So after that kind of definition, the only way I feel comfortable doing this is if I put a “WARNING: sexual content” just so everybody sees it. So let’s begin!
My heart was still aching. It had been a rough and wild night. I wake up with my head spinning around. I walk into the bathroom to grab some aspirin for the pain. When I grab the glass cup to fill it up with water to wash it down, the pain instantly goes away. Now it’s just the images of the night before.
For once I enjoyed myself, but I have never been the one to go crazy and become this animal with her. My girlfriend has always said I needed to loosen up, but I have always ignored her. I liked her; I like her attitude, her looks, her brain, but when it comes to sex, she’s always became this other person in the dark. Sometimes it’s sexy and then lately it’s been kind of old.
As I stand up against the door frame to keep my balance, I stare at her half of her body inside the blankets. The sweat dripped down and made her body cold after we finished. She had a smile upon her face the whole time, like she was proud of me. What I was really trying to rack my brain, was because I’m so against being dominate with her, how come the change all of a sudden? Was there a full moon last night and I turned into the werewolf just before we got started?
I continued to stare at her, until she flicks her beautiful green eyes open to see me standing in front of her. “Hi…” she says, in her half asleep voice, I gave her that smile again. I wonder if she realizes that she’s staying home from work today and we go for round two, three and four?
When I last left off in part three, it was at the last hour of Chloe and Hank’s wedding reception. Different things have started to unfold on Chloe’s almost ruined day. If you have read “Little Liar” then you know what’s going on. If you haven’t, you need to catch up! I’m still surprised I’m even considering to continuing this awful but quite hilarious story with you all. Enjoy part four!
I couldn’t believe that I was sitting next to my older sister, trying to comfort her at her time of need. It was my wedding day and I was drunk off my rocker but yet I still showed my heart and caring ways. So did my newly husband, who after seeing Brenda crying her eyes out about discovering the truth of her cheating husband. Things became clear that things were about to get a lot worse. I thought it was best for Brenda to leave the reception early and take herself and my nieces home before things got too out of control to keep them blinded by the scenes that were come as the night came to an end.
Brenda dried her tears the best she could and put on a brave face when she gathered her daughters, with the help of our younger sister Claire, who also agreed to go home with her to help with the girls for the night. Claire brought all four girls towards me to get my last hugs before they left and as they put on their coats, they asked where their daddy was, and it was hard to break it to them, but I knew one day they would know about it and that is Brenda’s responsibility, not mine. Thank god! Brenda finished making her rounds and as she said her last goodbye to me and hoped that our honeymoon ends up being better than the reception, things became real again. Those worries, creeped up again. Will Hank ever go so low to actually cheat on me? Will I have to tell our children while it still breaks me apart inside? I couldn’t imagine Brenda’s pain for her daughters, but I could imagine the pain that Hank was inducing on John right about now.
After Brenda, Claire and the girls were leaving the venue. I rushed back to the outside of the reception hall. I had to make sure I found Hank and Levi, and hope they weren’t too bloody to come back to the reception. I remembered thinking of all kinds of things I’ve been wanting to tell John since I first found him cheating on my sister, but for once I was at totally loss for words. I had turned into a narrow hallway, and passing me was the waiter that I saw before the whole started and asked him, where the two angry men were and surprisingly he knew exactly who I was talking about. He pointed straight and turn to my left and there was a door, they were in there. Great! It’s one thing that Hank and groomsmen were already fired up, but now that they were in an actual room with a door that could possibly lock, scared me a little. I’ve seen Hank get mad before and he’s drank some tonight. John would be lucky if I actually get there in time to save his sorry ass. I ran down the hall as fast as I could before turning and finding the door. I could hear the grunts of pain and I instantly knocked on the door, hoping for a reply back. Five seconds later, one of Hank’s groomsmen, Blake opened the door with a grin and said,
“Hello Chloe, uh, Hank is a little busy, anything I can help you with?
“No Blake, just let me in!” Chloe said back to the fairly large guy standing behind the door. “You know I can’t let you do that.” Blake said, Chloe thought about it for a second and then said back to him, “Okay, I’ll give you deal if you don’t let me in, I will tell your mother that you are planning on going to the new strip club that just opened four blocks from your apartment on your 18th birthday.” It took Blake a minute to stand aside of the door and let Chloe’s outrageously large gown in the small, occupied room. “Sorry dude, she was going to bust me!” Hank lifted up his muscular body to show me small splatter of blood on his white shirt. John’s nose was definitely broken and he definitely had a pretty good swollen right eye. However, the look of sorrow and forgiveness was very clear to see. “Chloe, you know I’d never meant to hurt Brenda. It just happened and I couldn’t control myself.” John pleaded to Chloe, but who he really needed to be begging to was Brenda, but since she was with the girls. Chloe had to act as a supporting actress and answer for her hurt sister.
“You know what John, I don’t know if my sister will or should forgive you. You had every chance to stop the mess you started and had every right to be the bigger man and tell her the truth. I regret not telling her about the time Claire and I saw you down the street picking that girl up with flowers. I think Hank should have told her that he seen you flirting with some girl at the bar. You had every chance in the world, but yet you never did a single thing to help yourself or your marriage to your wife. Now saying that, I wouldn’t go home first. I’d go to the hospital instead and I’d stay there for a while, because you know my step father is going to want to break your neck as well.”
John gulped, because even though Hank was a huge guy and could have killed him, he knows somebody has already called dibs on his sorry ass. It was only a matter of time before the word spread and all hell would break loose. Two other of Hank’s groomsmen grabbed John’s arms and stood him up. He was weak from the fight with Hank and bleeding like a river flowing down a stream. He had a lot to think about before he faced his faults and the wrath of Brenda. If our step dad doesn’t kill him, Chloe was pretty sure Brenda was prepared of going all Carrie Underwood on him. This time it was a 4×4 pick up truck, this was a Benz instead. Chloe was just tempted on passing on her honeymoon and stay behind to watch it all in place. She figured it would be more entertaining than watching Hank get chased by a bunch of seagulls at the beach. Love is a crazy emotion. It can come at you at an instant, but in that same instant it can also disappear.
Back by popular demand, let me try to do the third part of Chloe’s wedding. I started this last Sunday with my first writing challenge of the new week, “Bridezilla Has A Breakdown” and then on Friday, I did a second part for another challenge called, “Chloe Needs A Drink” and I’m not adding it to this week’s Picture It & Write entry. So I decided to find another picture and hope for some inspiration. So I hope you enjoy it.
Chloe sat in her chair with her new husband Hank sitting by her side. He sat in his chair, eating his dinner that was just delivered to them. Claire sat in her chair right next to Chloe, she sat there quietly, but she was also still attached to her phone, busy texting her stupid boyfriend. She was aggravated at the fact that nothing she wanted was happening. She didn’t want to feel alone on her wedding. Even though she sat in a room full of people she felt like she was the only one there. Her mom had her husband and family and friends around her. Brenda had her cheating husband plus their band of daughters. Claire had somebody texting her left and right, and her now husband was more concerned about the food than his wife’s needs. She was devastated at how everything was going and all she wanted was it to be over.
Hank was finally finished with his dinner, or he needed to take a breath. Whichever one, he lifted his head from his plate and looked around at his left side of the table to see his groomsmen laughing and eating their food rather loudly, he slowly turned his head to the right and saw all of his wife’s bridesmaids eating all proper like and then sees a very angry Chloe sitting in her chair, just glaring at him. “Oh god, what’s wrong now?” He says with a sigh. “Did you know it takes an hour to eat your food?” Chloe says with a half slur in her voice. Chloe remembered asking for a water, but as soon as the waiter came with her water, she asked that they throw it out and just send over the biggest bottle of Jack Daniels they had. Of course, that made the waiter start giggling, but there was nothing about Chloe’s words. She knew if she didn’t continue to drink her favorite whiskey, all hell would go up in flames! “I’m sorry babe, I didn’t want to get choked.” Hank said back to her, while he grabbed her napkin and dried her tears away. Chloe wasn’t upset at him, she just wanted to get away from this hell. “Is it 10 yet?” Chloe finally asked, and Hank couldn’t help but chuckle, “Not yet babe.”
Within the next hour, the night had started to perk up. The DJ had started playing more upbeat songs and it was only a matter of time before, everybody was to get up and start dancing. A few months ago, Chloe signed Hank and her to get some dancing lessons for their first dance as husband and wife. Hank was never a dancer at their proms, but he improvised anyway to make Chloe happy. Chloe trained in ballet, tap, and hip hop when she was a kid so learning some slow dance moves wasn’t going to be that big of a deal for her. However, they had original 11 practices and Hank had went to five of them. So that added pressure on her to know the moves and show him whenever he was feeling guilty about something. So Levi might’ve been onto something when he joked about Chloe killing him in five months. She could totally see that now. They sat up from their chairs and went around the large crowd of people and took a small walk around then before the DJ announced,
“Let’s clear the dance floor so Hank and Chloe can have their first dance as man and wife.”
Hank surprises Chloe as he leads Chloe into the middle of the floor and cradles her into his body for the hold. He stands so tall for her, but she still manages to get her arms around his tall frame. Chloe might be a little buzzed but that still doesn’t mean she can’t see the truth that stands right in front of her. All of those worries she had before were just what they were, worries. They constantly putting lies in her head, “what if she wasn’t ready to marry Hank?” They chose the song, “I Cross My Heart” by George Starit, it was the second country song we picked out even though as I said before, we are not raised on country at all. They glided around the dance floor like they were standing as one. She couldn’t help but smile as they moved around and she was happy that the five practices he did go to, he actually listened to their instructor. Hank felt her tight embrace and prayed that the slow dancing would be over soon, but he knew no matter how much he wanted them to be done, he knew that he had to dance not only his mom, but his mother-in-law as well. Somebody should shoot him now, because he didn’t think he could take it much longer. She felt like was in a trance and when Hank did the twirl and dip at the end of the song, he leaned in and kissed him on the lips as a reward for actually dancing well for once.
Chloe and Hank took their bow and then the party really went off. The DJ played various tracks that he knew everybody would enjoy, from the old to the new. Chloe’s little nieces and her cousins danced all goofy around the floor and she even got Claire out of her chair for ten minutes to dance to “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, which was Claire’s favorite song to listen to. Chloe had a heavy dress on, and she was more cautious about spilling her drink on it than ripping at the tail. Chloe was now at the drunk phase of the wedding and it was an hour before she and Hank were to leave for their honeymoon. As the song ended and everybody started scattering back to their seats for a break and a drink, Chloe turned around to see her older sister Brenda looking rather pissed off and upset. She honestly didn’t want to mess with her right now as she was just now starting to enjoy herself at her own wedding. Now she had to quit being happy and tend to her big sister. She walked over and sat in John’s chair, since he was nowhere to be found. In front of Brenda was John’s cell phone sitting on the white tablecloth. She turned her head towards her sister with glassy eyes and sniffed as she said, “John has been cheating on me.” And the truth was out. She knew it would come out soon, but she hoped not at her own wedding. “I knew it! Everybody warned me, but I just thought I was overreacting. What am I going to do?” Chloe placed her elbow on the table and put her head on her hand and said, “I don’t know Bree, but how did you find out?” She gripped the phone in hand and handed it to me and it read:
“From: Amy
If you have any time after you get done dancing with your wife, you should definitely meet me up in the back room. Ask the waiter Jeff for Amy, and he’ll direct you there. See you soon hot stuff. ;)”
No wonder she looked pissed, but sadly I’ve heard worse of his cheating ways. Once Claire and I were out eating lunch and we saw his car parked on the other side of the road waiting for somebody, and then some strange woman came walking out of the building and as she got in the car, we saw what looked like a kiss on the lips. This was a couple of months ago and we decided that we weren’t going to tell anybody, because she does four daughters with him and I’m pretty sure Karma would come back for him. What was worse though, just two weeks ago, Hank saw him with another random chick at the bar with his buddies. Hank hardly goes to bars anymore, because he knows how that makes me feel. He respects me enough to stay away. Something about this time though, I just let him go and he came back with a nice chat he had with the chick and apparently, the girl John was hanging out with was half his age and she told Hank that he never mentioned that he was married nor did he have his wedding ring on either. After that, Hank said she threw a drink at him and called him a liar and walked out. Apparently Hank and John just glared for the rest of the time they were there. When Hank got home, he said that if he finds him cheating on my sister again he’d kick his ass. So after trying to dry Brenda’s tears away, Hank gets the picture and grabs Levi and the rest of the groomsmen and they head out of the reception hall.
