Rules for Trifecta Writing Challenge:
Write a piece for the word, using the third definition. The piece must be no less than 33 words and no more than 333 words. You have to use the word given to you.
The mood was set, and the lights were lit.
They could hear the orchestra in the distance.
Warming up as the crowd continued to grow.
The other dancers stretched their weakened feet.
They fixed their hair, makeup, and costumes.
The backstage was full of scared young dancers.
As they practiced one last time before the show was to start.
They took a look in the mirror before they left to go up the stairs.
The curtains rise.
The dancers danced full of grace and serenity.
For the one moment they became angels dancing on the beautifully lit stage.
There wasn’t a storyline to be shared by words.
It was all the dancers twirling around on their tippy toes.
You couldn’t tell that some of them had injuries or problems outside their work.
They looked lovely.
They made you envy them.
Even if you didn’t have the body for it, you still wanted it all.
It took them years to master the skill.
It took them hard work and dedication to get to that place.
It’s not all about pretty faces and gorgeous lines to make it in this world of ballet.
