Five Sentence Fiction: Thunder

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

This week: THUNDER

It was a night in the theatre; as the storm began to start.

The director gave his bow as he turned his back to the black symphony, it had begun in the sounds of sweet and sultry flooded the hearts of many.

You could drop a pen on the ground and never hear it over the thunder of strings and percussion overruling the room.

The lightning strikes at the same time as the harp soothes the audience in their seats, the rain hitting the roof up above meets with the cymbals clashing on stage.

The faster the performance goes, the slower the storm outside and as they both start to fade away, all is left is a crowd of people clapping their hands cheering, and the sun shining through the clouds.
