Do Or Don’t You Read Spoilers?

I think I just did something stupid, but the funny thing is, I always do this and I always regret it later on. I have different things hooked up onto my Twitter and if it’s about my favorite TV shows and movies, I have to read about it. I don’t care if it’s true or not, it’s just news to me. I have both People magazine and Celebrity Baby updates on my Facebook news feed. I have Seventeen Magazine and Revolver Magazine on my Facebook too. At one time I even had E! News on there too. I am a nut I swear! They say to never to believe what they say in magazines, but I can’t help myself.

Since I don’t buy magazines anymore, these updates are my only source of news. I don’t like watching E! News or anything news on FOX or CNN. I hate seeing it all. I just read some spoilers about my one of my favorite shows: The Vampire Diaries, it was posted a few days ago, but that’s okay, better late than never. In some cases, people never read spoilers. How do you get yourself to stay away? When it comes to TVD, I have to read about it. Especially if it’s about the new season. I need something to keep me interested through this long wait. The new season doesn’t start until October 11th. and here it is July 13th and I feel like the months going by so slow and it sucks!

When Linkin Park’s new album was about to be released last month, everybody found out it got leaked two weeks before the release date. A lot of us (including myself) was doing the Linkin Park Listening Party Challenge. I somehow stayed off the links of leaked songs and it was so tempting! I had to keep myself away, even though it was very difficult. They released three single, “Burn It Down,” “Lies Greed Misery,” and “Powerless” and those were the only songs I heard in the long two month wait. I can do a two month wait than a four-month wait. On the day of the release listening party on Twitter, I could not take it anymore. Everybody was out getting their own and I knew I wasn’t going to get mine until later in the week. That morning I woke up early and looked on Spotify and they hadn’t had it up yet. So what did I do? It was 10am and I was already on YouTube listening to the WHOLE thing. I have never felt so good! It was amazing! I couldn’t make it to 4pm but I did make it to that day to finally listen to it. So I was pretty proud of myself.

So here’s the question. Do or don’t you read or listen to the spoilers? I try not to, but everybody knows I’m going to cave in somehow. Linkin Park was just lucky they have a powerful hold over me. Waiting for new music when they’ve been leaked online, is tough to stay away from. When Britney Spears released her album Femme Fatale, one of my friends already had a leaked link and I was in one of my moods. I wanted to hear something new and I had liked her first single like crazy so I thought, what the hell? I did listen to the album one week before it was due to be out. TV shows and movies leaks are hard to come by, which is good. Getting through the wait with spoilers are actually better for me. It keeps me excited for what’s coming and it gets me thinking about everything. It’s a perfect distraction during a bad day.
