If you have Spotify, this past weekend there was a countdown to the release of Carrie Underwood’s new album. It is her fourth album, Blown Away and if you watched I don’t know what it was the TODAY show or Good Morning America but she performed some of the songs off the album. I just started listening to it. So I haven’t really chosen any favorites yet, but some are really close though.
I’m not much of a country fan, but I do love female country singers and think Carrie is very good and I love it when she hits those hit notes. I think I love her more upbeat songs more than her slower songs. Even though I’ve said that one of the songs on her new album, called “Forever Changed” is like she wrote it about wedding day and it’s very slow and beautiful. Another slower song is “Thank God For Hometowns” and I love songs that reflect remembering different memories. They’re an instant favorite in my book. There are three slower songs on the album, “Good In Goodbye” and “Leave Love Alone” and that one starts off with an acoustic guitar. The last slow song is “Wine After Whiskey.”
The first single “Good Girl” starts off the album. The title track “Blown Away” is the second song of the album and Carrie shows off her lungs, actually both in that song and the last song “Who Are You” are the two songs show her range that made her win American Idol. I already know “Cupid’s Got A Shotgun” just by the name. It’s very upbeat and good too. I think my favorite song at the moment is “Two Black Cadillacs” because it’s like the squeal of “Before He Cheats” or “Undo It.” I didn’t really like the songs “See You Again,” “Nobody Ever Told You,” and “One Way Ticket” but don’t hold it to me because this is my first time listening to it. So it could change the second round.
