About an hour ago, I finished watching the movie “Country Strong” and it was one of those were I wanted to watch but yet I didn’t. The reason why I didn’t want to watch it was because everybody talked about it. Just like they did when Twilight first came out. They talked alot about Gwyneth Paltrow. How she could sing and if it was really her voice or not.
I didn’t know that Tim McGraw was in this movie. I’ve always had a thing for him. I don’t know how I even got a crush on him in the first place. I might’ve gotten it from my mom. I don’t like his beard at all. Surpringly, I didn’t really like Garrett Hedlund. I don’t know why I didn’t. Something about him made me think of Russell Crowe. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Russell Crowe to be honest. I loved his voice when he sang. I love deep voices on men. Sometimes I’m a sucker for country boys.
This is the second movie in the last two days where we’ve had two movies with Leighton Meester. The Roommate, which I never got through and Country Strong. I loved her more in Country Strong than The Roommate. I know I can’t really say that since I actually didn’t get into the movie completely, but I just couldn’t. I tried though. Anyways, I love Leighton’s voice. I love her song, “Somebody To Love” so much! I knew I wouldn’t have a problem getting into her country voice. She was very good in this movie!
I defintely didn’t expect how this movie to be like it was at all. I didn’t think it was going to be sadder than all the other music type movies I’ve seen. By the end of the movie, I knew what would happen. It does not take a genius to figure out the ending. Seriously. The couples part surprised me some. I actually thought that Chiles Stanton (Leighton Meester’s character) and James Canter (Tim McGraw’s character) would start up an affair, but I was wrong. I began to feel sorry for Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Partlow) by the middle of the movie. It’s defintely a movie I’d recommand.
